Once Throbbing Domain is done, you can go to the Desert.
And guess what?
You get to do the same thing all over again.
Do the Desert.
Unlock Crater Bunker and your run.
Go to the Bunker.
Unlock the Core.
And your run, go to the crater, unlock the moon, and your run.
Unlock pyrophena and unlock xaratana.
Wait for xaratana 2 and 3, so that you can go to the rift.
That'll get you into the lab.

Go to the ice age, or go to the lab, then get a quest to go to the throbbing domain.
Then go back and go to the ice age.
