lockdown, the third lockdown, and it was a red color.

hero with new ways to play content to master and things to discover.
If you're a Destiny player right now, this paragraph to you sounds like the worst thing
you've ever read in your life.
I want you to know that this is extremely typical in extraction shooters.
It actually is exactly how extraction shooters are built, right?
When you talk to extraction players, and this is me just talking to different players,
especially Tarkov players, I ask them, what's their favorite time of the season?
And they say every single time, season wipes.
They love everyone starting at level one, essentially, going from zero to hero.
They love the loading in, yes, you have sandbox updates and whatnot, different maps maybe
or whatever, or maybe, you know, different elements added those maps, but they, they
love the resets.
And you even see it, man, like people, how many people are watching things they talk
off on like Twitch and whatever, uh, during those reset times.
Well, you gotta understand, the things that are the flecks that are probably going to
be the flecks inside a marathon is going to be, I would think, probably emblems.
I mean, think about destiny, hold on.
Destiny we have the illusion that loot is with us forever.
Would you have kept a static role for Destiny 2, Vanilla?
You could have, but it obviously would not be nearly as lethal as what its newest variant
is, right?
In my opinion, even though, yes, it's not as hard cut off as Sunsetting, gear has changed
so much in Destiny that pretty much over a year timeline, maybe two at most, gear kind
of resets inside of Destiny, you know, where my issue is when it comes to removing content
is removing like story narrative driven content.
But like, if you give me an item and you're like, Hey, this item has, I can destiny case,
This item has enhanced perks or enhanced ordnance rates, the tier variance, right?
I went for a man, we're in kind of a weird state though with Destiny.
But the thing that really carries weight inside of Destiny, in my opinion, really are emblems.
I know some people, I don't even think cosmetics really, cuz you can get so much from the adverse
store and our cosmetics are just all over the place.
I mean, maybe some of the titles you could say, if you were proud of God Slayer and stuff.
But I would say that the thing that's the biggest flex inside of Destiny is emblems.
And Budgie really nails the emblem aspect of marathon.
And look, it could be all types of emblems.
It could be like, I mean, it looked in the database, but it could be like, essentially,
What if they had an emblem where it's like you wipe an entire lobby, you know?
Or you extract with a certain amount of lutes.
Or even just if the raid light, there's like a raid or something inside of, you know, they
talked about raid light mechanics inside a marathon, you know, beating that, do you
get an emblem?
the seven volts? Yeah. Brother, no one cares about emblems. I care about emblems. I care
about emblems. What are you talking about? You say no one cares about emblems yet so
many people bust their balls to do day one raids. You say no one cares about emblems
yet there were tons of people paying cheaters to carry their accounts and get perpetual
just so they can get an emblem.
Emblem really, I mean, emblems really are
the big flex inside of Destiny.
When we had 60% of players cheating,
there's some might have been more than that,
for the day one raid,
they're not doing it for gear.
They can get the gear easier
once normal mode of the raid unlocked.
They're doing it with a flex, a prestige and the emblem.

Well they can still get the exotic anyways.
Now what's in season one?
One, death is the first step, aka first step, is the start of a new gold rush on Tauce.
It's the beginning of a proxy war between rival factions competing for power and answers
to what happened to the 30,000 lost souls of the new Cascadia colony.
And as a runner, you're at the forefront of the expeditions.
When you step foot on Tauce 34, you'll find a hostile road that wishes you dead.
As you and other runners begin to explore the surface, you'll soon discover a way aboard
the derelict UESC Marathon ship hanging above. Once the community unlocks the way into orbits,
the fourth zone, Cryo Archive, will become available.
Prepare your mind and show to take on this in-game zone on the Marathon ship, where you're
going to solve security puzzles, unsealed frozen vaults, and come face-to-face with
an entity even the UESC fears.

But then you get to diamond or whatever grandmaster, is it like 10k?

But second, they are going to be loaded.
Because if they're having to hit a guarantee, so here's the thing.
I'm not gonna just be like, all right, for instance, if my guarantee is 10K, I'm not
just gonna hit, I'm still gonna bring in my best stuff because you're gonna be going up
against all the players using their best shit.
You're gonna need everything you got to possibly take them out.
But if you kill them, I'm talking golds, that's not all purpose, but golds, potentially
even the rarity beyond golds.
Go look up all the ranked holotags information, you can increase your ante in a match.

content and stories that continue to evolve the world in gameplay, while also re-tuning
all of our lutes and progression systems, creating space for new metas, and ways to
play to a march.
Season updates will include a unique set of new contents, which are the things you do
explore and collect on Tau City.
This can include any combination of weapons, mods, cores, implants, backpacks, runner shows,
zones, PV combatants, faction upgrades, contracts, and new ways to play existing zones.
For example, NIFOR will bring a nighttime version of Dire Marsh, where you'll fight
to survive when the lights go out, UESC reinforcements flood in, and the what?

to then show up and see some dude named Rook who not only made every worm god his bitch,
but he made the one of the mothers his own personal generator.
That's when you fucking knew you were like, oh, we thought we understood the universe.

point. I think for Destiny, it's going to have to go dark, and they're gonna have to
make a Destiny 3. We talked about this just almost too much at this point, but no confirmation
on that. But in the future, if say we had a D3, it's interesting to see how they could
both coexist together.
Because obviously you would not be in a situation where Bungie would do a season reset in the
midst of dropping final shape. You know what I mean? They're going to have to stagger these
things. And I'm even in a weird situation right now. It's like, I don't even know what
the weekly resets are going to look like in marathon. Because weekly resets in Destiny
is Tuesday. I don't even know. So like, if it's Marathon's reset supposed to be, did

that we're not obviously not recapturing that.
We're not touching that, that level of potential that we first saw in Destiny
so many years ago, which is why D three is necessary.

I remember very vividly how sitting on launch date, I was sitting in the live ops room,

The multiplier increases while you remain stationary, but decreases as you move and
change positions.
The second is Assault, where damage dealt to enemies within a certain range delivers
is a 200% damage multiplier.

Today, I'll be introducing you to a short walkthrough of what you can expect from our
game at launch.
Resurgence is a brand new Division title, faithful to the experience of the original games,
but built specifically to be playable from anywhere on mobile.
In Resurgence, you'll play a first-wave agent in a brand-new story, taking place in the
in Manhattan after the events of Division 1.
For this walkthrough, I've teamed up with my friend Erwan, and we head out in the open
world towards a mission that we won't complete.
On our way, we cross the pass of another player.
In Resurgence, the open world is shared, allowing agents to spontaneously meet.
That player seems friendly and well equipped, so we invite him to the scene and we start
the mission together.
Can you play this on my stack, remember?
As we claim a radio station from the Freemen, a new ennifaction introduced in the Origins.
In Resurgence, you can expect intense cover shooter gameplay as in the original games,
rewarding precision and tactical thinking.
The Freemen oppose a fierce resistance, but thanks to the complementarities of our specializations,
we can make sure to welcome them.
In Resurgence, each specialization comes with specific skills, offering a unique, curated
playstyle.
You pick one when you create your agent, and lock new ones as you progress in the game,
and then three swap between them when outside of combat.
After navigating through rooftops and the radio station floors, we finally reach the
Freeman leader.
Time for a boss fight.
I'm lighting you up like a crisp brick!
The cameras are on the wall!

We finally take the boss down and are rewarded with some sweet loot, allowing us to refine
our character build.

and I would like to start this talking to you, Yannick,
because you have been here since the beginning,
and I want to know what those 10 years of the division means to you.
Gosh, it's actually 11 years for me, even.
But it's... I mean, what does it mean for me?
It's a quarter of my life, it's half of my career,
so it's pretty insane to think that we are here today
celebrating 10 years, but we are celebrating seven years of the Division 2.
We are announcing Year 8. It's unbelievable. I think, you know, even
when in our wildest dreams, when we release Division 1 and then release
Division 2, I don't think we would have ever hoped to be where we are today, so
it's incredible. And to see the players still be with us, see the excitement in
chat and see some names in here that have been with us for probably those 10 years,
us, that's the best.
And we know that a lot of people are coming back to see the string, to see what we have
planned here.
So we have a lot of people who are coming back to this, but they are there in the beginning.
And I would like to understand for me and to learn from you how it was those first days,
like how was the vibe and more important, if you have any fun story that you want to
share with us from there?
It's, I mean, I do have a lot of war stories.
I annoy people with my war stories sometimes.
I feel like a dinosaur, like you know, in 2017 we did that thing.
But anyway, no, it's, I mean, I have a lot of great memories.
Launch Day was really special, Launch Day of Division 1, as we saw in that smaller teaser
of Air Magnus talking about the launch and, you know, looking at the screens with all
the, you know, the graphs going up and of course the, you know, infamous laptop situation.
remember the laptop do you also remember the jumping jacks because we had the
issue at launch that you could jump in jack in the door frame and prevent our
players from actually crossing the door frame.
So that was the thing where some creative players started abusing in a fun way.
There were a bunch of the nerf to phoenix credits.
Probably our very first big outrage on the game, the bullet king.
I mean, there are so many good memories today.
They are good today.
They were not necessarily fun experiences back then,
but it's been so much.
Yeah.
And we want to take this moment to thank you,
thank all the players that has made it all possible.
We wouldn't be here without you.
And all over the world, people have contributed these 10
years with creations, cosplayers, photo mode images.
And just sharing, yeah, we have some highlights here.

Yannick, you were the one who created the ETF in 2016, you name it.
So you were the father of the ETF.
If you know what I'm talking about is the Elite Task Force, so the group of players
who have access to some exclusive early on parts of the plans or the game to give feedback,
to help us develop the game.
They always help us a lot and this is part of our commitment to include the community
to push the future of the franchise. So now I want to ask you, can you tell us about working
with the community for all those years? Because you used to be a com-dev for those who don't
know. You used to be here as a com-dev, now creative director.
Yeah, that's a wow, that's like, what do you mean?
It's actually ten years of the division, means also ten years of live streams with my face.
So that's, I'm sure you can retrace some of those live streams and see the aging happening.
No, but I mean, it's, you know, it's, we wouldn't be here without our players.
And I know it's cheesy and I know that a lot of people say that, but I mean, literally,
we wouldn't be here.
The game would have been cancelled, or wouldn't have kept being supported the way it has without
the support and the passion we got from the community.
And very early on, you know, I talked about the Phoenix Credits in Division 1 and everything.
It's like, you know, the working on a live game, you have to have the players on board.
The players need to have a voice and they need to be a part of it.
It's not just all decisions.
And so I was lucky enough and privileged enough
to actually work with the team that
trusted me as a comdev and that listened to me
being the voice of the players.
And I think that relationship with the community
and the player base back in the early days of Update 1.4,
the creation of the ETF and all of that, and since then,
trying to keep that as part of the DNA of the division,
It's been very important.
And again, I mean, you see where that brings us.
I mean, there's no limit as long as we have all of you
with us supporting us and supporting us with your time
and with your money.
For those who can, it's just that we can keep going
for as long as we want.
So it's just amazing.

So that's how we built this, really trying to use what we have and just make it just
a few changes and the more we went, the more changes we made, the more we were like, what
if we did that?
What if we tried that?
And really trying to strike that fine balance between still something that feels like the
division, but at the end of the day also feels quite different.

Yeah, and I'll comment on that just quickly because I've seen a bunch of comments on chat
on like why is it time limited?
And you know, there's a few reasons for that, but it's, you know, it's a celebration.
It's, you know, we call it a mod, but I'd like to think of it more as an event.
really it's just really something we built for the anniversary to try to
propose 40 times something that again feels different. It's not meant as
infinitely replayable thing. You will play the campaign of all odds on
New York. There is an end. Once you've finished it, we don't expect you to keep
playing and grinding it. There is no grind, there is no RPG in there. So there's
no real reason to go back to it. So for that it makes more sense to actually end
it to actually remove it but of course you know if people like it we could bring it back again in
the future and I think there's an interesting discussion on how this concept of realism and
immersion... I'm using the rest of them to see that evolve in the future so... New man's gotta go.
Welcome any feedback? Something that feels very division is how beautiful the game is. Like we
notice we do these environment videos on a community team and they're so appreciated
and the visual upgrade is something that is coming with this update. I think we
have some visuals for that. So the team has been working hard updating a lot of
things like global illumination upgrade, we have reflections, we have building
geometry and materials, all the tricky words. It's insane to think that I
mean the Division 3 is a game that's from 2019, but you know that's a
generation of consoles ago, that's a lifetime ago in the world of video games, and I like
to think that it still really holds.
Visually, it is a beautiful game.
You still have those war moments when you play it, but for this anniversary, we thought,
okay, maybe we should, let's see what we can push.
Let's try to do a bit more.
There's a bunch of stuff that we thought we could improve a bit on, so we reworked a bunch
of things, as you said, insert technical lingo that I don't understand, but people tell me
this is how they did it. At the end of the day, my job is just like, hey, that looks
prettier. That's cool. Let's do that. But I do think that it makes a big difference.
When you log into the game today and you get all of those improvements, that's part of
the update. That's for everyone. And you will get to get a different feel, a different vibe.
And it's just, it makes quite a difference. It makes a game that was already beautiful,
more beautiful. For sure. Something else that's being added is two new global events. So this is
the first time we're adding new ones since year two and they might sound familiar. We have ambush
and assault and yes indeed. These are from the first division and they work in the exact same way
as I did in the first game. The rewards for these may also feel similar. Do you recognize these?

specifically, where on the map that took place, how I died, what killed me, the mistakes that led
up to that moment, stuff like that, you know what I'm saying? And so interesting that that's
essentially what this trailer is kind of laying out for you. It's like all the different lessons
they've had to learn along this path. And then they finally get to the end. Again, the whole goal
here is to make it to the to the Marathon ship. Hence why that's the final map. Marathon ship is
the final map, the cryo archive, right? And so they're in this gunfight, they do all this stuff,
and they hit the TP point. I guess there's gonna be a TP point or something like that.
I'm sure we're gonna be like in the process of unlocking the marathon, the marathon ship.
Really, really good cinematic piece here, though, guys. And they get teleported up.
I love the destroyer is, you know, he's always the first one to get messed up, but
He's out there trying to take the good fights. And then now they're here on the Marathon ship,
which is obviously pretty damn spooky. And this looks like the cryo archive that they're entering.

The spit compilers are the most common kind of spit found in the marathon universe.
And are the first, and our first encounter appearing in the opening level of marathon
arrival.
Like before, the compilers comes in ranks.
The compilers has two ranks.
The minor, which wears an orange cloak, and the superior major compiler, which wears a
purple cloak.

The compiler attacks by shooting a bolt of energy out of the machinery they have hidden
under their cloaks.
The bolt is powerful but slow, so the player can move out of its way given sufficient distance
to react.
When the compiler is struck by an attack, an impending attack is interrupted.
Oh, so you can actually interrupt them.
Some colliders also use a cloaking device which makes them harder to spot, while most
of the time the colliders are enemies to you, and some of those, they are allies rebelling
against the four.
Okay. Yeah, I mean, like the idea is to set them free, right? Like we're gonna, we didn't figure
out a way to set them free. But look, look, don't, what really matters here more than any of this
is that if Bungie is giving us the compilers, so I sit, then that means that we may be in a
situation where a year from now, we're dealing with the four.
Which is when things get really spicy.
And then, if it actually does go, cuz look at the, do we have a confirmation?
How do we know that this marathon that we're playing isn't one of the other six terrible
timelines from Infinites?

same weapon, but you can now apply this perfectly rolled attributes with other combinations of attributes
