I have a considerable chance to return ammo in the magazine.
I'm like, I'm gonna pair this with Retallator and its prestige mod, and that's gonna be
my ultimate PV weapon.
The level of build crafting that starts to take place, like for instance, it's Repeater
yesterday using it, and it's DMT.
The point I'm trying to make is it's like, the depth, we're just touching the surface
of it right now.
But just touching the surface of it.
But I feel crazy because what I've experienced seems so much different than what people online
are experiencing.
Or people, I say online, Twitter, you know what I mean, in other places.
There's a lot of people that really, really like this game.
But there's also a lot of people that are just talking on it, man.

I'm happy Arc Raiders exists because Arc Raiders exists. We got the version of Marathon that we knew it could be

Marathon's existence could create the best version of Arc Raiders
These are two games that exist in the same genre that I feel like are gonna continue to refine each other as both these studios
Know they are competing for your attention
And that means we as customers will get the best product out of it.
I will say Marathon is definitely more on the hardcore side of things.
And I don't know what's going on with the ArcGraders if they're leaning more toward
the PV side or something like that.
What I can say though is that I've been extremely impressed with Marathon so far.
I was not expecting this level of depth.
I was not expecting prestige mods to be this good.
I mean, maybe I should have expected it, but I didn't understand how Bungie could change
weapons fundamentally simply based on a mod change.
I was under the impression that, cuz originally I was like, dude, a repeater, I mean these
are conquests, these are all base weapons.
Why would I care about the perceived modded variant of this?
When I would prefer just an outright last word, you know what I'm coming from, like
take destiny for instance, you don't just get a common version of last word.
And then you add the last word mod, right?
The last word itself comes out to get exotic.
It actually works here in Marathon, though.
This system works.
This weapon changes greatly.
These weapons change greatly when you get these different exotic, or in this case, prestige
traits added onto them.
And this is, we're just touching just a small part of what the bill crafting is gonna be.

using a self-revive, you become invisible. While reviving a down crew member, you both become
invisible. And we're not talking like invisible, like, you know, there's like a little,
you still like a shimmer effect there. We're talking like straight about the ring invisible,
just fucking gone. Crafting seems near spot on. It is, man. It is, dude. It's very, very good.
I personally need the game as minute, but I'm happy everyone of us is enjoying it.
I will say that, hopefully with the changes Bungie made yesterday, where ads, PV ads are
easier to kill, hopefully that's going to, you know, pull some of you guys in that are,
you know, getting kicked on against PV enemies.

You're still going to be going up against PVP, PV players, that are really good, okay,
But hopefully with them toning that down, it'll be all right

if they should ever do this maybe they should just keep this hard for guys I

You just can't anticipate the amounts of unfortunate events that can just fuck you.

Oh, and then right after you get EMP, a wave of ad spot.

This just, even if you're like extremely good at reacting, there are just times where you
get overwhelmed.

The point is, everyone in that plays an extraction shooter, will die, will lose their stuff.

In my opinion, classic is a great way to A-B tests a player's appetite for loot, specifically the best in communities, and see what in fact is the best middle ground between being too easy to get that being destined to or too hard to get that being destiny one.

Destiny, lightfall, lightfall, if you look at every metric, shows arguably one of the
biggest peak moments in all of destiny, right?

On paper, it looked like a success, but how was it really for us?
How was the experience in lightfall really?
It wasn't good.

The narrative obviously fell flat.
It was filler contents.

certain data points don't necessarily represent,
objectively, how that game is.

I also don't want to completely discount player population in a live service game.
I'm not saying it's not important.
I'm just saying I don't want to obsess about it and take away from me just wanting to play

But if you want to know where things get bad or where I start to really pay attention,
this is when I start to pay attention to numbers.
If I happen to be playing, if I happen to be playing Trials of Osiris, all right?

Okay, if the entire weekend is 26,000 players in Trials of Osiris, when there were only
six teams or at one point two teams inside of 3v3 and trials of asiris

You got people that still play gambits
You got people all over the place
So when the player numbers inside of destiny start to drop, you feel the pain in those
queue times because so many players are split across everywhere.
Marathon is more consolidated in its nature by design.
It is more consolidated.
I'm not saying we may not feel the same pain, but when I say pain in things like Trials
of Osiris, I'm talking about playing the same team three or four times.
That is, that is pain.
That is absolute pain.
It almost makes me wonder if Bungee completely anticipated this, and that's why they actually
reworked how Lut works within trials for surface.
They anticipated that going flawless in a timeframe or in a time when marathon exists
in tandem with destiny would be damn near impossible.
And so what did they do inside of trials that just give Lut away?

Just because you love a game it doesn't mean it's successful to other people's eyes

We don't know what successful is.
Neither you nor I know what successful is.
I don't know what that metric's supposed to be.
And the only way we're gonna know, here's how you'll know.
This is when you'll know that targets are missed.
