So now, after doing many boot camps, I would like to do a state in SLAM, but for GFT.
It's a more a team-based thing rather than an individual thing.
We'll still run a boot camps, of course.
But it is like a first try.
A first draft at a new team-style TFT event.

First of all, thanks to our sponsors.

I was originally going to run this event on my own.
If you guys didn't know, when Boc Flex Bootcamp was first a thing, I had no sponsors because they
concept was so wild, like a silky tournament, and no one's ever done that before.
So I had no one like believed in the idea yet, so there was no sponsors, so I just
paid for it myself.
It cost me $20,000 to run every season.
I was going to do the same thing for this, because the idea is unproven.
But then randomly, Froden message me, he's like, hey, we heard you doing something, TFT Academy
would like to get involved.
So our sponsor is TFT Academy and then Riot Games.
I was actually shocked that Riot Sponsored the event.
I was fully expecting them to not do it until we prove that it's a good event.
Yeah, so we have two sponsors.
It is a 90 competitive event.
There's eight coaches.

Anyway, so yeah, it's a coaching event.
There's eight teams, or there's eight coaches,
there's 24 students, and they will form eight teams.
So the most fun part of this event in my opinion
is the draft.
Starting tomorrow, once I fully announce the event on Twitter,
announce all the students, the eight coaches,
there's a scouting phase.
A lot of them are gonna student of scouting.
I know Bruce, if he was interested.
Basically, we're gonna do research on all the students.
We're gonna see which ones have potential.
And then we're going to do a draft.
The way the draft works is all the coaches
will get a hundred gold and we all get into a call.
And then it'll be like, I'll be like,
I nominate Scarra.
And then everybody writes down a number of gold
that they're willing to pay to get Scarra on their team.
Maybe I write 75 gold.
And then like Ace was like, well,
I'm spending 95 gold on Scarra.
So then he wrote, he writes a highest number.
And then he wins Scarra for 95 gold on Tuesdays.
But then now he only has five gold left to do after us at his team. There's a lot of strategy and try to make sure your team is good
If you spend like 98 gold on on your on getting the highest ranked player in the event
You're going to be left with the two lowest ranked players in the event and your team's going to suck
Every placement counts every point matters and it's like it's a team wide event. It's a 2v 2v 2v 2
event
I want to clarify. It's not double up. It's just you're in a lobby of eight people and one of them happens to be a teammate
You're allowed to talk to your teammate, but it's like, you're not double up.
You're still just trying to score as many points as an individual.
The reason we're not doing double up, by the way, it's because it plays very differently from
solo queue.
And we want people to like, a lot of people are joining this event because they want
to get better at TFT.
So I want them to be able to practice solo queue TFT to be able to practice for this event.
Anyway, so yeah, there's going to be two days of scouting.
And then on Saturday, we're going to be doing the draft.
It'll be about an hour long and we'll form our teams.
In St. James, we say Jim and I hand-make the teams,
based off of good vibes and balance of skill.
But on this one, it's not to the coaches to scout and research.
It's actually really fun.
The most fun thing will be finding a student who looks low rank,
but is actually really good at the game.
Oh, like has a lot of potential.
That's going to be the most interesting thing to see,
like which people coaches believe it is capable of learning.
The actual competition format, there's just three days.
Once the teams are assembled on Saturday, they get like four days to train, and then it's just like Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, you play four games, four games, and it's just like like a tournament, you just get together until the lobby, you only face people of your same seed.
If like the coach and the highest ring student are playing together, the only face other duos of coach and highest ring student. There's not going to be like a coach versus the bottom seed.
So the the elaboration just should be like decently tight

Win as a Mr 100, 500 bucks, win with one HP, 500 bucks, go one in two with your partner.

and hit a four star catch for 1,000 K.
So if you're ahead enough and you're lobby
to throw for content and go for the big play,
you can win a lot of money for your team.

The only way is the triple funcash shot.
Triple funcash out without spending any of the money.
You may not want to specify the 7 version of RISE in the unrise portal, but it's on
RISE portal.
These values are in first-conferced-based.
The players will have to perform them in a tournament.
They can't just still look you into it.
And then if they do in a tournament, they send a screenshot and then they get the prize.
They get the prize for their team.
Let's probably looking for a certain range.
Extremely low.
That's why it's worth $1,000.
Yep, and then one last thing I wanted to show you guys that we came up with, I
thought this was kind of cute. I was talking to a friend of mine who does design work
and she was looking at the event and she's like at the end, you should have like a ceremony.
A ceremony to like highlight like the big moments.
So we came up with this, the end of Basha Awards, we don't have a graphic for it yet.
Like, we'll award something to the most improved player.
We'll award someone, the MVP award, the best duo,
the best chef, which is like the most interesting comp.
The person who cooked up the most interesting comp
during the tournament, maybe someone plays
like some crazy, unusual thing to win.
And then also $250 to the biggest wonder.
Not what I'm really excited for.
I just hope nobody intentionally throws the event to achieve the biggest
blender.
It has to be organic.
Is a community voted.
I'm not sure.
I haven't figured out how we're going to do it.
My current tentative system is we have like a in the boxbox batch discord I have an
area where people can say like who they think should get their word and I'm
like read through it and then just like make a decision because it has to
happen like on stream and there's not much time. There's not a time to
like have a panel and deliberate it. Well, there'll be match fixing with
teams. I in 2v2v2s like if you guys didn't know 2v2v2s is actually like
a real thing and you're like allowed to throw for your team it. The biggest
way is if I if you and I are teammates and I have a 100 HP and you have one,
I would, like, I don't move my, my, my, my carry.
And if I face you, I just like don't, I don't, I don't
I don't my carry. So you win. I sack around for you.
You're allowed to do that. That's obviously win trading in a ranked game.
But in the 2v 2v 2v 2 format, it's allowed.
You're also allowed to be like, hey, I need the bow on car, so I'll
don't take it.
Uh, something that we were worried about was that the coaches would play
two games at once, basically. We were worried that you were going to,
the coaches were going to like, say, say, like, hey, can you screen
share and it's like, okay, I'm going to pick your argument for you.
I'm going to tell you what to play.
I'm going to tell you what to slam because like in TFT, there's just kind of like
a lot of downtime.
So, we didn't want to bend communication because like communicating is fun, working
with your team is fun.
So what we're banning instead is screen sharing.
If someone's going to sit there and be like, all right, my argument choices are three
three's big grab, if they're willing to do that and the coaches want to lose like 80% of
their thinking time, then that's fine.
It should be fairly hard to be able to do that and play your own game.
I'm pretty sure if a coach actually tries to play two games at once,
they're going to just like get really dizzy on their own game.
I have it, yeah.
I'm worried about that, but not too worried.

I would say the big thing is that
the all the team plot like a week to train and it'll be like who which coach can raise their
students to be like as cool as possible in preparation for the event. Also let me kind of

like how does someone get involved in this?
If this version of the event goes well,
next set, I'm gonna do it again with an open application.
I would say it's like the same as Google Camp
where we're looking for like small streamers
to large streamers.
I, for Google Camp, we're pretty generous.
The minimum standard for bootcamp applications is you have to stream at least 40 hours in the last three months.
That's basically like a couple hours a week.
And then you have to have 10 concurrent viewers or more.
So we would probably do the same requirements for this event.
But for this iteration, the very first iteration, I just handpicked them.
I handpicked 24 people that I thought were interesting.
I think something that matters a lot with this event, or with teammates events, is good vibes.
In boot camp, if someone was like a bad vibe, it's kind of whatever, because, you know,
it's an individual event.
You don't really interact with your opponents.
You just solo queue and try to beat them.
In this event, if someone's a bad sport, you're stuck with them for a long time.
So I had to be very careful and pickable that I was like certain would not ruin the vibe
or like bring other people down.
So I found 24 people that I thought would be pretty fun to be around no matter what their team is.
So tomorrow I'll reveal the roster for you guys.
Should be fun. You're working as a lot of the people.

tried to imagine which bootcampers I could imagine in the event.
When is it?
Good question, draft is on Saturday, so the coaches are going to start
starting tomorrow. The draft is on Saturday and then the game days are on
January 20th, 22nd, 24th, and then a final lobby for 25th. Only the top
four teams will make the final lobby. So it'll be three days and then after that
four teams get eliminated and then the final four play the fourth day out. 25,000
and K in prizes.
