you, but in that situation, I want him to just be the highest placing out of
the five contestors. I told him if he didn't hit masters in a week, I would break his legs.

like TFT. I think Masters is very impressive. If you've been playing for a while, I think

that I hang out with and they just like casually play like a large variety of games and they're
all Masters like easily. Even the ones that don't play strategy games, they're all just
like Masters just from like existing. And like they don't really play the game. I watched
I watched them play earlier.
I came in because one of them was streaming TFT on Discord.
And I was like, what are you guys doing?
And they're like, TFT.
And then I'm like, but I see that you're watching SpongeBob
right now.
And they're like, yep, we just watch TV.
And then TFT's just the side thing.
TFT's their second monitor game while they watch TV shows.
And they're masters.
They're like 200 LP.

Masters is very impressive.
If you've been playing for a while,

just as I already hit Masters without trying.
I guess it also depends on your community though.
I do think, because there are challenger players in our friend group,
by existing near them and having someone to talk to about the game and get high level opinions,
you just casually get better.
Really one of the best things you can do for your own improvement is just have someone to talk to who's a lot better than you.
Because a lot of improving is knowing what you did wrong,
and you're not going to know what you did wrong if you don't have someone better than you to tell you what you did wrong.
If you just like raw dog it you don't talk to anybody and you just like play ranked games
You'll just like lose and you don't know why I

I just like played the game and had fun and I would lose and I was always thinking I'm unlucky
But then like the moment I got a coach who could break down like why certain actions were costing the placements
I immediately could see like how many different ways I could have been challenger like way sooner
Earlier, I was asking Brosev for coaching. He's like the best coach currently just in
TFT like overall. And Brosev was going over on my VODs and he was like, huh, your spot
looks really good. How did you end up in going seventh place this game? And then he's
using Pan on the carousel and he was like, you didn't take this Pan, did you? That's
like the only way you can lose. And I was like, I did take the Pan. He's like,
why did you take the Pan? And I was like, oh, well, I took the Pan because it denies
other people the pan and maybe like I can get a quick checker emblem for my yunara
and then he's like Albert look at this spot he's like you have a two item
wukong and you have an open chain vest when you take this pan you are choosing
to not slam a wukong item you then lose the next two fights by one wukong
item death and then those two fights cost you 25 hp and you went to minus
one HP on stage six when everybody else was one life. Imagine if you had 25 more HP here.
And not only imagine if you had 25 more HP, imagine if you dealt damage to your opponents
instead of taking damage. You would be like at worst third place. And he just like sat
there and broke it down of like why me taking this one pan like ruined my entire game.
And it's brutal, but like it's what you need to hear if you want to get better.

I would have just thought that I was unlucky.
I would have just said, wow, unlucky matchmaking,
very close lobby, and I barely die.
Right, like, the most powerful thing you can do
if you want to improve at TFT is just like,
have people talk to go there better than you.
Yeah, if you have friends that are like,
500 will be harder than you, it's really good,
but like, there are also coaches that,
There are also a lot of challenging players that I'm pretty sure coach for free or very
cheap.
And if you want to get like the high level coaches like BroCif, I'm pretty sure BroCif's
rates like pretty expensive, but also like anyone who's invested their field would charge
a lot.
Yeah, I still remember the $400 per hour League of Legends coaching that some people
did.
God, that's insane.
I cannot believe people pay $400 an hour for that, by the way.
I won't name the person, but there's a guy who's charging $400 an hour.
actually buying it. I looked at a little bit of it because they posted their videos online
of their coaching sessions and it's not even that good. I'm pretty sure a $25 an hour coach
could have done the same thing. Paying money to play a game sounds crazy. I mean you say
that but can I point you to Genshin Impact, a game where people literally spend thousands,
maybe tens of thousands, guys.

If people are having fun playing a game
and it takes up a large percentage of their life,
they're like really willing to spend money on that, right?
If you like TFT and then have to play it
for like four hours a day,
that is like 20% of your life,
18% of your life, dedicated to this game.
If you're like an engineer, okay, I will say TFT actually
is probably like the richest community
for a competitive game.
because I think the TFT community is a lot of like older,
like relative older, older as in like late 20s, early 30s.
A lot of people with jobs and like a lot of people
who like do like engineering stuff
because it's a very mathy game.
So a lot of people who play TFT actually have hell of money.
There's a lot of people who make six figure salaries
and they play like four to four plus hours of TFT a day.
And like for them, yeah, I'll drop a few hundred dollars
on Chibis, yeah, I'll drop a few hundred dollars
on coaching because it's a game that takes place
over a large percent of their life.
So I can see why people are so willing to do it.
I can also see why people are very
willing to pay for a League of Legends coaching.
If you are one of those people that's addicted
to League of Legends, this is like a drop in the bucket
compared to spending $10,000 on Genshin Impact.
Anyway, yeah, so to summarize that,
it's not surprising that people will spend money on a game.
In fact, it's expected.
Anything that you, I would say one of the best purchases
you can make is upgrading your bed
because you spend a third of your life on it.
If you use your computer eight hours a day,
you should spend money on a good computer.
If you play eight hours a day,
I think it's reasonable to spend money on it
if it makes you happy.

six customers at a time and they had no price tags anywhere and I walked in and they gave us some
of like the best sushi of our lives were like it took them 10 minutes to prepare each thing
and at the end it was $200 for person and I sat there like okay you got me like I'll pay you
this one time but holy shit that was not worth it I just cannot imagine spending so much money on
food like the temporary feeling of bliss it wasn't that great
I'm pretty sure like $30 sushi would have been 90% as good

hotter. You just get to go really fast. You're a lot weaker and a lot more mobile, gain
access to ninja stars. Ridiculous mobility. And you get to know how to turn around.
The switching is really sick though. Something that I thought was very cool game design.
Enemies will occasionally do big attacks. And to parry the big attacks, you have to
switch stance in front of them. Like switching stances is the parry button.
So a lot of times you're just like incentivized to like stance swap. It's really sick.
