[00:33:50] Although we already have a lot of stuff planned out for it, we know what we're doing and we know how it's going to fit into the game.
[00:33:57] The thing that we're still trying to nail down from a game design perspective is, unlike a game like Stardew Valley, our game does not work in unlimited playtime segments.
[00:34:11] And what I mean by that is in starting about well, I shouldn't say unlimited playtime, but um player player
[00:34:17] player decided playtime and
[00:34:21] What I mean by that is in starting Valley you can wake up
[00:34:26] spend
[00:34:27] 30 minutes to you know two hours depending on how you how you manage your stamina
[00:34:32] Before you go to bed that day and you could do that every single day
[00:34:37] Another person could get up go to sleep and
[00:34:39] And get up and go to sleep and get up and go to sleep because maybe his farm's done
[00:34:44] Maybe he's got other stuff going on so in the game the exact same amount of days could take
[00:34:51] drastically different amounts of time to get to
[00:34:54] Our game doesn't work like that
[00:34:58] Emberville works on a real-time day progression system
[00:35:01] So if you get up in the morning and put down your plants your crops and you leave Emberville on and then you go to work
[00:35:07] when you get home your plants are going to be grown so in that regard that gives
[00:35:14] us a few more challenges in how we would want to deal with a a reactionary
[00:35:19] climate system and we're still figuring out what we want to do with that so we
[00:35:25] like we have all these these cool events and things planned out but just
[00:35:28] how we're gonna get them to the player was so exciting one thing we're
[00:35:32] considering is kind of like a lot of games do these days is tying them to
[00:35:37] real life events. So our Halloween event would be in real life October. Our Christmas event
[00:35:44] would be in real life December. And that's cool. But the problem there is that means that a lot
[00:35:50] of players aren't going to see all those fun events. Because let's be blunt, a lot of people
[00:35:54] are not going to play this game for a whole year. So we're trying to decide, do we want to do
[00:36:00] that kind of thing? Do we also want to do some kind of in-game real-time tracking of days?
[00:36:07] Would we want players to be able to zoom to them or get to them faster? There's all sorts
[00:36:11] of questions that come up with this. We have the container, we have the framework, but
[00:36:15] we haven't yet fundamentally decided on the implementation yet. And honestly, that may
[00:36:21] be something we decided during EA. I don't know if at EA we'll have our seasonal
[00:36:25] system in, so that may be something that we decide on and comes in a big patch
[00:36:28] during it and even I mean I'm gonna I'm gonna be blunt even the real-time
[00:36:35] progression of the days is something we're playing with because that's gonna
[00:36:39] need a lot of balancing in its own right so you know there's what we're doing a
[00:36:43] lot of things the same as games of this type but we're also doing a lot of
[00:36:47] things very differently and making sure all that works together in
[00:36:51] practice is is you know that's our fun that's our fun part yep and
[00:36:58] Honestly, it's been a blast doing all this the last year. It's really picked up in terms of like making the more concrete mechanics
[00:37:05] And what's what's actually gonna be there and yet spin. It's been phenomenal
[00:37:17] He being a real time and make it rough for people that only plays certain games
[00:37:20] Yeah, so here's here's the thing about about mechanics like this
[00:37:24] There's always a downside
[00:37:28] So we what we need to do is decide where the downside is and then we need to we need to make sure that all of the mechanics like
[00:37:38] All the mechanics are considerate of that

[00:37:48] And a lot of this you guys are going to help us decide during the ea process as well
[00:37:52] I'm sure I'm sure we have ideas for systems

[00:38:00] that is the entire reason that we are doing this game in EA.
[00:38:04] It's because we want to be able to test and fundamentally try those with the community,
[00:38:09] and then make awesome changes quickly.

[00:40:10] And at the start, at the very beginning of the meetings, we were going over a sorting system, or the chests, and how that's going to work.
[00:40:20] And there was one thing about it where I was like, ah, you know, I like how this is working, this is cool, but we're going to need to do this, or it's going to cause this, and that's going to be a problem.
[00:40:28] And they're like okay, and then by the end of the meeting I went to a meeting by the end of the meeting
[00:40:38] In the game they were showing me all the changes I had requested
