fine I have UPS is except the UPS on my streaming set up failed okay so that kind of sucks

I went back and the UPS was on, but the computer was off, so something didn't work.
So then I restart my computer and I come back in here and I'm sitting here for like,
you know, a solid minute and the screens are black and I'm like, what's going on?
And then I notice on my left screen there's a small line and it said something on the lines
of trying to detect media, found some media connecting to this Mac port dot, dot, dot,
dot. And I was like, what is this? I've never seen this before. And I was like, whatever.
So I walk back in there and I, and I hard power it down, turn it, turn it off and on again, right?
And I come back into here and the computer tries to boot and it goes into a Windows update.
And I was like, oh, shit.
So the window update starts processing and the computer restarts and it goes right back
to that screen where all my screens are black and there's three lines of white text and
it says something, something media, searching network for, for media.
Here's the MAC address we're searching for the network on and I'm like, what the
hell is like what is this? So I go back and I restart my computer again and sure enough it comes up
and it tries to do more Windows updates and I was like god damn it gets to the end of that
restarts again back to the three line message.
So this point I'm like what does this mean? So I Google the message.
message. The message I was seeing is when the ASUS motherboard doesn't detect a proper
boot device and start searching your network for a bootable media. That's what it's doing.
So at this point, I'm like, oh, shit. So I go and I turn off my computer again, because

So it becomes very hard to track your unknown known when it's not displaying
anything that makes sense. Dig deep into your IT knowledge? Oh dude if I was back
at my old IT job back at university I would I would launch into this at this
point. I would start testing every piece of hardware in the system. I'd

What's the first step of troubleshooting? Turning it off and on again.
The second rule of troubleshooting is understanding that 95% of the time the problem is between
the keyboard in the chair and you just got to figure out where in there the
problem is. And then the last part of troubleshooting is finding out what you
know first and then tracing that to the unknowns. Because most of the time the
heart of the problem the more of a chance it's gonna be a problem you
did not know about. So you have to get the known knowns out of the way first
and then go out to the unknowns. And that is how I troubleshot researchers
at a major university for years or more.
