And the reason why I told Jinx to play jungle isn't just because I main jungle. It's because I think that jungle is the most beginner friendly role.

We have to learn what every single top laner in the game does.

think jungler is the best beginner from the role is because as a jungler you can
kind of develop core conceptual understandings of the jungle without
having to know what every single champion in the entire game does you know
what I mean like Jinx he can right now load into a game and even though he's

Even though he's never played against, let's say, for example, Sion before, he still knows

But the issue with laning is that laning is, especially in lower elo's, so heavy with

I was in a health science program, right?
So three of my classes were chemistry, physics,
and calculus.
So at one point, we do our first-ever calculus test.
I get a 50%.
So I was like, you know what?
I've been showing up to every class and studying,
and I got a 50.
So what if I tried not showing up to class and just studying?
So the next test rolls around, I get a 35.
So then I was like, fuck.
OK, so showing up to class doesn't work.
Studying doesn't work.

tried cramming all the info in one night
because I thought that if I autistically like,

autistically tried cramming it all the day before
that it would work, right?
So I get to school the next day, I get a 15%.

if you get a really good grade on your final,

the other questions right and we can solve it just somehow. I get my final
grades back a few days later and I got a 2% on my calculus final. But the
The problem was that my mom was under the impression that I was like this great student,
so I started lying to my parents and I was like, mom, dad, like, I'm gonna be honest,
like, I got 90s and I was doing really well in all my classes this semester, but the thing
is that I just feel like going into a different program like business, because I don't feel
like health is for me.
In reality, I failed everything in one of my core classes, because after I failed calculus,
I said, fuck, it might as well fail everything else who even cares anymore.
So then I didn't even try to study for any of my other finals, and I got put on academic
probation, which means that if I would have failed another like more than half of my core
classes in the following semester, I would have been sent to night school.

So what happened was, nowadays, items kind of just give you stats, but they aren't these
like game-changing items, right?
Back in the day, it used to be different, where instead of being like champion-centric,
League of Legends was item-centric, where it's like some items were just so broken, that
if you could find a champion that could use it properly, it would be fucking insane.
So to help you understand what I mean by that, for example, there used to be an item called
Dustblade of Jactar, which based off the enemy's missing health, you would do up to 20% bonus
damage to them, and when you would get a kill or an assist, you'd go invisible until you
enter combat again, like by attacking.
Another item called Prowler's Claw would make you dash through a target and amplify your
damage against that target for like 5 seconds, right?
Another item was called Divine Sunder, which is like imagine sunred sky, but on steroids.
And there were items like Everfrost that were like items where you would be a mage and you
would have like a root that would enter in a cone in front of you, right?
So back then, those were called mythic items, right?
And they completely changed the potential of the game because champions were able to
explore with mechanics that they never had access to before.
To give another example, there was an item called Gale Force, right?
And Gale Force gave ADCs a dash, okay?
And the dash would also deal damage and like an execute on whoever would be in range.
So you legitimately, it's like a match and I would look at it and I would say, what if
I played Master Yi, but I could go invisible?
What if I played Jin, but I had a dash?
What if I played Hecarim, but I could dash through people?
You know what I mean?
And it was like, it was just like infinite possibilities, right?
So the thing about it is that League of Legends got to a point where they said, hey, we don't
really like the way the game is because the way that mythic items work is that once you
bought one, you can buy another.
So the thing is that people that would want to experiment with, for example, having Trini
Force but then also having Duskblade, it was impossible.
So a lot of players were saying that they're like, dude, why does the Marge just remove
mythics, but then keep the items and just make them slightly weaker.
So Riot decided to take that idea and send it to the fucking moon and back, and what
they did was they just removed like over half of the items that were like mythics, and the
other half, they nerfed to a point of unrecognizability.
Kraken said for example, it's third hit used to deal true damage.
Eclipse used to be infinitely crazier as well, like it used to do way more, you know.
So, that's why it's like...
So, that's why what happened was is that we just like kind of changed the game around.

So we kind of just like changed the game around in the sense that it went from a very item-centric game
and then it became very like champion-centric where items just weren't really as valuable.
And what that accomplished was that nowadays it feels like when you play a champion you have this
like set of limitations that your champion has and there's no real way to get past it, right?
But for the people that played back in those days, it's like, it's hard to adjust, bro.
It feels like almost going from a job where you can make $300 an hour to one where it's
like now the solid cap is like $50, but it's more consistent.
It's very hard to come down from that, that's one of the reasons I've been trying to force
this awesome hygrim for years now, since I left, because it's just that feeling I got
when I used to play it, it was on the ganking house.
