I really can't predict what we're gonna do on Tuesday.
Tuesday's gonna be very much a
look at a lot of stuff day for sure,
because there's a lot of stuff.
But I have no direct plans yet.
I know that there'll be less gameplay on Tuesday for me,
because I'm gonna wanna get into the grind of everything
and also be on a good schedule, like my normal one.
So we're gonna probably do a lot of look at stuff,
like patches, heroes, kits, you know, perks.
I mean, there's so many things we have to look at on on Tuesday because I obviously I wasn't at spotlight either
So I don't have like
Kind of a blueprint of what to look for, you know when I last year
I still knew what to look for when I went there, but this time around it's gonna be a lot of fun time. So, yeah
This is the first time you've seen me stream. Is this are they usually this early? Yes

I mean, I'm just going to go with the vibes of spectating. Sometimes it's just like,
I see what, I don't know. That's the beauty of spectating is that they can
also change with everything so yeah we'll see your answer of course yeah i'm probably
at what's 5 30 there i mean it's so essential time right pretty sure it's central
so i have a very i have a very good time zone schedule right it may not be the best like
peak hour schedule although technically i think statistically being live early is good on twitch

because no one's gonna go and buy their hot dogs today they're gonna buy
them all tomorrow at 11 a.m. at market market basket so today's the day to
go and get stuff if I need to get anything so I'll talk to Lonnie when
she's up but usually she sleeps in on today because yeah I probably would
I would have probably woke up a little bit later.

And August is preseason, then September is the football
season, so.
But you usually start hearing about football talks
fully around July.
You might hear some stuff around April, free agency

Will I watch the games? Of course I'll watch the games.

I have co-streamed about, I don't know,
80% of OWCS games last year.
Like people may not even know that
because obviously like I'm not as like,

either way, I'm looking forward to everything with that too, because OWCS is also a fun
like part of the stream where I can kind of just chill, watch matches. It's just

The point I'm making is like, I'm just excited

I think that the vibes I do get though,
for anybody who knows Super Bowl stuff,
it reminds me of literally like a,
it's funny because it's crazy to say this 25 years ago

it was very much like, oh, the Rams are going to dominate.

I think it'll be fun to see like that vibe from those players and stuff,
because, you know, I think the bootcamp idea was really cool,
and it gives those teams some good practice and some moments of gel as a team too.
It's chemistry on teams gets super underrated.
If you can gel with your teammates, you can have some really good results.
So, those bootcamps become really important for some of these teams who just need
to kind of like gel and kind of get ahead of that.
So it should be a good opportunity for all those teams.
And I'm excited that they gave them the opportunity.

Do you think a lot of people will come back to Overwatch
due to the new season?
Oh, there'll be an increase of players for sure.
I think my concern is more what Blizzard decides to do
when the players are here more than if players will be here.
I don't think there's any doubt that there'll
be more players logging into this game on Tuesday.
I mean, I've seen people I haven't seen in years
get excited about this upcoming year.
So that's a good thing.
But I'm more concerned about what they do after of like,
OK, is there a problematic hero that
is just dominating the game?
Take care of it sooner than later, right?
Don't sit there and let it, oh, we'll
give it a month and a half to see if things like that
is my concern.
But I do know the team will be paying attention to it.
And it does help that you have, for example,
Costa there now, who he's been in front and center of major stuff
like this before.
But he was at the last year spotlight,
but this time around, he has more experience in that stuff.
He might be like, OK, we need to go in here now.
So the point I'm making is there's a lot of,
as long as they pay attention to this early part
in the first couple of weeks and get it right,
I think they'll have some more longevity of players
staying and playing during that.
So, I'm excited.
That's my only concern about what happens,
how they handle it, but yeah, it's gonna be awesome.

I can't speak for him.
I talked to him yesterday and he actually seemed excited
about the lore stuff.
He didn't even know that was a thing.
I'm like, yeah, dude, they added lore.
He's like, wait, really?
So even he was a little bit surprised
that we got to follow up lore
right after getting that huge cinematic.
Like, because sometimes you would expect,
the best way to put it is,
Sometimes when Blizzard announces really cool things,
they just go quiet after that.
Like they don't do anything else for a bit.
They did all those cool things
and then still had another storyline like continuation
like two days later.
So it's a good sign thus far.
Again, we'll take one day at a time,
see how the seasons go.
But yeah, people are excited, man.
Like it's just, it's when you kind of give people
give people a reason to want to come back, it's, I've always said, you know, there's a lot of people who do like Overwatch, it's just, they want a reason to come back, and then one of these could be, this upcoming season could be, so, we'll see, also curious to see how the event plays out, this is the first time they've ever done like a huge faction war within the game,
we have like the team talent, team Overwatch, so we'll see how that one goes, but yeah, there's a lot of really cool things to look forward to if you're an Overwatch fan, yeah, it's exciting.
It's exciting you think we'll get hero trailers for all the new heroes. No, I think we'll get the
Ones we got for like woo young and on Ron and stuff like that like you know what you know
I mean at the same time like I don't know if this is a hot take or not
I'm okay with those as long as they still sprinkle in cinematics throughout
You know without going years without them, right? Like one thing I realized over time after watching some of the older cinematics is that

The Sigma cinematic anybody remember that one?
Does anybody remember the Sigma one? Yeah, no. We want to know why? Because it wasn't
a giant cinematic. It was a really cool animated one that we've seen from other stuff. But
you always hear about people talking about how cool the cinematic is for Sigma. The
point I'm making is I didn't even realize that there was a lot of heroes that just
kind of had that type of cinematic, but it was cool.
So I'm okay with them doing those styles
as long as they just don't ditch the cinematic style
we saw with Vendetta and Doom and things like that.
That's gonna be the most important thing.
Like we don't wanna see those once every three years
or something.
We wanna see them at major beat points
of this whole storyline.
Like things that get you excited, right?
So, yeah.
I think like as long as they can do that
and keep that consistent.
And it sounds like they do.
I mean, there was a blog post yesterday
I didn't even cover where, you know,
it's kind of funny because I was talking about it
on stream and I don't even know on this
where I said that like when they removed the two
it was really for the team.
And the next thing you know,
there's a director's take from Aaron going,
yeah, we know like this,
getting rid of that too is like,
it's important for the community
and it's important for the team.
And that's kind of the vibe I got was like,
it's just you need that clean slate and reset
from something that wasn't even initially
in your own plans, right?
And it's very important for them.
So this is an important year for team four in general
to be like, yo, we're still really good at what we do
and we're gonna show you.
So that's the exciting part.
We'll see if they can team up with that, right?
Obviously I'm a very optimistic person
but I'm also gonna be, you know, I will be fair
and kind of in the middle of seeing how everything is
and I'll give my honest thoughts
once I see how everything is again.

optimistic about a lot of things

So I think they'll probably have that discussion halfway through the year of how do they feel?
like how do they feel about releasing, you know, five heroes in a year in comparison to only three, you know, and that, yeah, exactly what is important to that one, too, Sammy, so sometimes that can happen in-game and we're like, you get all this, and you know, there's, you know, I think it happened with a couple of games, we're like, you get a lot of overtime and it just ends up doing a lot of burnout and you can't, so hopefully they're able to do all of that without that burnout, but I'm sure they'll have at some point, whether it's now or, you know, in a few months, they'll probably have that discussion to see.
Make sure everybody's good and is capable of and willing to do that. So we'll see but my guess is yes
Next year if they do like this season this six season

I'll give you a little bit of a way to look at it though.
I think stadium doesn't need many heroes right now.
Like, let me kind of like, let me finish my point.
Stadium is in a really weird spot
where they can't figure out a few things with builds.
And I think they just need a little bit of time to cook,
to be able to go and make viable builds for other characters
because they keep adding characters,
but they don't solve the problem,
which is like making viable builds for every single hero
and having multiple of those.
So while myself would love to see
a bunch of more heroes coming into it,
I got that rate of three heroes per that they were doing.
I really think, yeah, like one hero a season right now
for Stadium, just temporarily, right?
Until they figure out everything else.
I think it's probably important for Stadium
because I've seen what's happened to Stadium over the year
where like they just cannot find the other viable
second option for most of those heroes.
And in order for Stadium to be successful,
you need to have multiple build paths
to be able to make that a very good experience
for people, otherwise eventually
you'll only have one direct build path
And people just end up getting kind of, unless you really love it, and like just like with
core, if you just love it, you love it, people will start to take a little bit of a break
from that.
Is there Overwatch?
There is, yes.
Is it a little bit more of a chill drop?
They did a surprise Lunar New Year drop for a couple of sprays, and I think like
a name card or something, or I don't know.

But I do know that this season should have really good drops, I hope, because it's
like last year, this season had really good drops, I'm hoping we have the same

you like your drops, I would pay attention to the season because I think this is where
they'll probably go all out with drops. I could be completely wrong but they did that
last year and I think with these type of seasons, they want to have as many people
looking and drops is a good way to do that. For stadium builds? Yeah, yeah. The owner
of that is in here all the time. Yeah, yeah. Stadium Build I.O. has been in
this chat for about a year now. It's crazy to think about a little bit of a fun
story about stadium builds and the creation of that website. So, stadium builds, who's
in the chat from time to time, you know, from time to time. Actually, if you look up top,
look at the gift itself. Yeah, see, look at the top. That's funny, I just saw that out.
So the creator of that basically made it because his wife was playing stadium and really liked
it. But she would be writing things down on a notepad, like on an actual pen and
paper next to her, like writing down builds and writing down items and stuff. So he

So he made stadium build for his wife, so she had ways to input builds and stuff, so she
could have a reference and then stadium builds became one of this.

these seasons 10 new heroes this year which is seven more than I think we've
ever had in one year outside of the launch of Overwatch 2 which doesn't
exist anymore because we're back to Overwatch yeah it's it's it's one of
those things were like actually technically Overwatch 2 landed in
November right over a year so technically I still would say the
same it was three heroes in a year because we didn't get any heroes in
and overwatch one towards the end.
So yeah, no, this is like the first time
we've ever had that many more.
So yeah, are they going in the right direction?
Yes, now it's on them to see how, again,
drawn people in can be tough, and I think they've done it.
Now it's about making sure to do it right.
Paying attention to a lot of the pain points
the game will have, because players are going to return,
and you've got to be able to nail some of these
like almost slam dunk changes if they become a problem.
And if they can do that,
I think we'll be on a really good trajectory the rest of the year.
Even if they don't, I still think it will be a very, very, very, very good year.

like that's what Overwatch started as.
It was a very chaotic fun game.

they're gonna try to find ways to balance it
across the board, but I think they're just leaning more
into the direction of just letting players
have fun in a hero shooter
and then in less about fine-tuning the number.

wouldn't doubt that that's also
part of the Doomfist storyline.

Okay, I should let it what happened in between Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 2. I mean, I
I'll just give you like the cliff notes. Cliff notes are cliff notes still a thing
That was a thing in school
I didn't really use them because I didn't like it was before the internet was huge huge
But a cliff notes have been around since like the 60s right
anyway
Overwatch 1, Overwatch 2. Overwatch 1, no content, promised PvE because of a different,
at the time was a different game director in a different direction. Overwatch started as a
MMO type of game called Titan back in the day so their original vision of the game was to eventually
have it be some type of PvE game. They tried it, most of that team left, a bunch of stuff with
the previous president. Launched Overwatch 2 way too early at the same time, it was way too late
because at the same, you just kind of basically ditched everything at the same time and then
they've now recovered it back to a really cool spot.
And this team really cares about the game and wants to see it do very well.
Every time I'm around team four, they're super optimistic and super excited and really love this game.
Everything else you can probably Google and all of that.
Yeah, I know it's not the full complete story on that one, but I know there's a lot of videos on that one,
and you'll hear about that in general.
And again, that doesn't take away from the games having it ups and downs, right?
right? There's things that still, you know, team 4 can do that, you know, you're like,
what the heck, like, so keep in mind that, like, it's not all, you know, as I said in
I think my recent Instagram, it's not all roses there, but yeah. Either way, I would
say, if you Google that, you'll probably find some really good videos that kind of describe
that whole sequence. I think there's a couple books that came out later that describe

dev team wanted one thing but couldn't make it happen and the other team tried to make
a similar vision happen until recently. I think they, it was more like that dev team
had to kind of continue the vision that wasn't necessarily theirs and by the time they

So they had to make that unfortunate choice of it once again.
I'm never going to take away people being frustrated about that.

As somebody who plays World of Warcraft, I love both PvE and PvP.
I was excited, man.
Replayable PvE.

So don't get me wrong.
But again, the team now has a much different direction.
One thing I do like about now with the team is they have a direction that they
can take on their own now.
This is their game and they can do whatever direction they want to do with it now and
not feel like they have to follow the direction of a previous team.
This is their vision.
Whether that ends up being good or bad over the years, that you have to be seen.
But at least now they have control of what they want to do and I think that's going
to be the most important part.
So anyway.
But yeah, for all the other stuff we need to go look at all that information.
There's probably people who describe it way better than I do.
I think that's, you know, I find that information elsewhere
might be useful because I also can miss some parts
of the stories or get some of them like mixed up or something.
So you don't even know what you can do for the four days
while waiting on the new season, honestly.
Is it use it as like a weekend off going, you know,
enjoy something or just keep playing the game?
Probably care.
I would be playing the game still, but you know,
there's a time to just go vibe and relax and do whatever.
This is your time because it's about to get
pretty good, right? So, yeah. Drives are not available right now. How do I feel about double
mythics per season? I mean, they want to get more mythics out and they want to get more
money. So, here you go. I hope you like my thoughts. I sometimes, by the way, I'm not
going to give you some long-winded, like, three-hour response on some of those. It's
pretty simple. They want more mythics in the game. They want more money. They made
more mythics. I mean like that's like that you know that I don't have to go
too deep on it that's like you know that's just how it goes.
Lucio-Mythic when? Hopefully sooner than later. I know I know the Lucio-Mythic
is very much up there so yeah. So you feel like a lot of people spend money
money on Mythic Prisons other than the Battle Pass, of course?
I can't speak on that, but I'm going to assume people spend money on Mythic Prisons.

Honestly, Soldier 76.
Let me kind of like frame this as to why Soldier 76. Every time I play Soldier, I always just feel like it's an outdated version of all the other DPS.
And Soldier is still a pretty solid hero and a fun hero, but they could probably give him a little bit of extra love with something.
Whether that's an extra button, a better version of his weapon, an upgraded version, right?
I don't know too much about the Mercy nerfs. I will admit I will do that.
What is the hero I'm most excited for probably jetpack cat and domino, but I also think Mizuki is gonna be super underrated. Yeah
And in that whole like crew right there, but obviously like I'm run super fun like I'm run has been a blast, right?

I think players have with on run right now.
And that's going to be not being able to finish a kill, but I'll be real with you.
People couldn't finish kills on vendetta for the first few days of the play test, which is why I'm a little bit cautious on trying to like scream for buffs for on run right now.
Because I've seen how that goes, right?

because the minis will be more impactful, right? Like a mini health pack having more HP on

of people to go and then fight Overwatch.
And then it comes a whole thing.

I'm just making up a random storyline
off the top of my head.

this is why lore can be important,
because now we have things to talk about
about the game that isn't just about if soldier 76

Freaks could actually help Doom.
There's a world where Freaks actually helped Doom
by giving him a new weapon for his arm.
Like it could be that the Freaks to help him,
and then he also works with the Freaks and then all that.

I don't think their story is just where it's at now.

I do believe that YouTube would massively benefit from Creighton drops because I think that would actually add some really cool dynamics to streaming in general for streamers.
Because Twitch has nailed it with drops.
Like games get to have a pretty easy market in beat by just putting an item in the game, players get rewarded for doing that and the streamers benefit.

Just don't like playing against an unchecked stealth character like a lot of times people will just you know

So I think the reason why it's taken so long for them to actually get a rework out there is not because they're

In top 500 we get a lot of Flashpoint games, I gotta mean like to the point where I know
these maps like so well already, so I think what happens is, you're gonna hear a lot of
players in top like 100 enjoy more like control and like push and all that, it's because
like we'll kind of pick up really early on how to play those maps and those modes
So it gets kind of played the correct way and it's really fun when played correctly.
But getting people to play correctly is the toughest part in a lot of ranks.

Flashpoint, push, etc.

Like in order for me to ever get the other like modes. They're like there needs to be no like

But I honestly a lot of players just like it because I gotta think about a lot of those like players in top

Like though you don't want to have shorter games that your cues are gonna be 20 minutes long

But you have to understand, a lot of push and flashpoint and control and throw play, or
even top 100, is a lot of like, how often in your rank chat do people disengage?
An example of disengage is you start to make an aggressive play, you recognize they've
used cooldowns that are going to be able to push you back, so you disengage so that
way their cooldowns get wasted and you push back in right after and then win the team
play.
Like how often does that happen in most ranks?
Spectators I watch not often but that's kind of what will happen and ranks because when you once you get to that rank and those lobbies
That's more of what you're gonna get a lot of that like back and forth of life
Understanding like oh no, we have to back away now because of these cooldowns like okay. We can go back in away
This is our advantage right to the map get played a lot differently
So when you play like push like that or flash pointer control dude, you can get some exciting games
