so fucking difficult. So yeah, so like hardcore numbers of things we won't get into, but like I could
absolutely tell you order of operations of how things kind of fill into play second. And I guess
like to just kind of address the numbers thing. I can't tell you hardcore numbers, but I can't
tell you, yes, I did lose money on the event. No long term, I don't think it's gonna like,
I think long-term I will see benefits from the event though, that will essentially, it just doesn't really matter, like,
I'm not really worried about it. I wasn't running this event to make money. Obviously, I'd like to make money, but nobody's running an North American countershark event to get rich, I'm sorry, that's just not.
Um, so that's, and if you are, you should probably like,
I don't know, go fucking, invested a shit quite or something, not a financial advice.
Uh, so anyway, let's, let's get into the order of operations,
the things kind of how things seem to be so sick.
It'll kind of give me like a list of things.

Alright, I'm going to run the land in the first place talking about the revival series.
So me and Slow always kind of ran online stuff with like,
Mific, which is where a lot of, I guess, I just enjoyed having my own events like it was cool.
You know, like online when you're running tournaments, me and Slow, it was just like a lot of fun.
So that's kind of where I guess like FML started in terms of probably and this is years ago, you know, I can't even remember if slow's in here may.
I'm trying to think of like when we ran our first mythic cup, you know,
ad have been
like before COVID. So, oh, Christ.
Yeah, that was a while ago. So 2019. So this is kind of where that's literally how long I've been trying to
to like figure out how to do this, how I want to do it.
Like that's probably let's just say 2020 to keep it simple.
It's probably where I started thinking about this more
and it became more of like a real reality.
And yeah, where it was kind of spark, basically.
It's just that doing the online stuff is what was like the catalyst
me realizing what it provided for the community, the enjoyment I got out of it and
like all the positives that came with it, and then so being approached by Monster,
those, the first, so this was interesting, so Monster obviously sponsored me, but
had nothing to do with like my events and stuff like that. They had other plans and
like we've worked on those, if you guys haven't noticed, right? Like Monster brings
me out to events, I co-stream events, live from a renaissance stuff like that, I just
did boot up past.
That's kind of like initially where a lot of things started with Monster.
And the event was something where every time Monster saw me, I think they kind of, they're
not really like this, but you know, all I would do is talk about running my own event
basically.
So that's where monster, you know, my first contract with Monster, I can say this now
was three years.
So we had three years, we worked together and for three years basically they had
to constantly hear me talk about how I feel like we could do some really cool
shit together and they were trying to figure out like how we would do it and like what
that would turn into and that's where like over time a lot of those guys at Monster
just for them the gaming team over there always want to do really cool
shit and they just want to enable me how to do it it's just making sure we
actually have they want to make sure I'm not just completely freeballing it. Well
at little did they know they originally weren't necessarily thinking I was
gonna run the first event with them as a live one. So that was like you know
So that was definitely my curve ball at them.
I didn't say I wouldn't run one live.
They just kind of assumed that I would ease into
our new thing that we were gonna be doing together.
So, but I didn't.
So, that's kind of where it started.
Monster was like, hey, part of my contract with them
and like renewing with Monster is when the tournament
was getting like integrated in and became
part of the conversation.
So that was kind of what's spread the timeline up or like created the timeline and where I now I'm like
Holy shit, I can now actually do it and then deciding on what I actually wanted to do for the event
not anything online wanting to impress in the event.
So I feel like I've run so many tournaments online now.
We've had like the Abbi Power Mythic Masters, I have a revival series, I hosted like I don't know,
10 to like 15 mythic cups, maybe I don't know, I lost track.
We've run a lot of online events and then with the VRS changes as well.
I've always wanted to host a land.
So it was kind of like the perfect VRS just changed monster.
You know, my new contract renewal negotiations as always with them,
like went really smooth and we added in basically this thing where I can host a tournament with them.
And that's where we kind of had the perfect form of like this is the time to do it, you know what I mean?
This is like when we like that that was so I always want to host the land.
Monster contract the REST changes is basically how that was like, oh we're a fucking dervish in person.
Like, because I wanted to help the scene, like I didn't, for those of you that don't know how the REST works.
like a $30,000 land event is so much more valuable than like I don't know where
the breakpoint is, but the price pool you'd have to have for like an online event to compare
to a $30,000 land is hilarious.
Like having a person and having a land out of it is just so beneficial to the North American
scene.
regions like Asia and South America for those of you that weren't like staring at
actual TV all the time looking in events. They hope basically guys there's like a
bunch of these elements that just aren't like spectator type events that happen
all the time in those regions. They're just absolutely flying with like close
circuit events where they're just hosting these smaller lands and they're just
farming virus. So that was, but also I always wanted to live. And I feel like something that
I feel like not having fans in the venue or like for some of the stuff just feels like
we're creating such a divide in the community, which is so shit. Like yeah, we might not all be
you know the best players and counter-shrek or something like that or whatever,
But it doesn't matter, we can all still enjoy good CS, and we can still enjoy competitive
CS.
It's welcome to anybody.
So like making that connection inside the North American scene between fans of just counter
strike and the teams of their region, I feel like we literally have like, I just
like, that's not happening.
Like we need to start creating that connection.
And when what I noticed is when we ran them online, I feel like I still wasn't really
making that connection. So I think now though, I feel like there, I feel like this weekend,
we literally made fans for some of those teams. And that to me is like so important in so many
different ways for like the health of the game, the scene. And yeah, there's no reason not to,
like it's super good. It gives players like you get to introduce players to people,
You get to create actual stories, you get to see the personality, right?
Like, I mean, that crowd had no, like, I'm just going to put this bluntly.
Nobody in that fucking crowd knew who Mars were and were, except for some of the
die-hards that watch, probably the revival series every time.
I couldn't tell you, for a fact, at the end of that, quite a few people now know who
the players and Mars were and are and really enjoyed watching them. And probably,
I'm not going to sit here and pretend like they're going to watch every single one of their games.
But they absolutely are going to be a bit more invested in what they're doing in the future,
which is really cool.
And that's what we're missing, right?
Like that's there are fans in North America.
There are players in North America, we're just all like in our own little silos and pockets
of counter strike.
And we need to try to like basically remove those and bring them all together as one.
So yeah, so this is kind of feeling like an interview a little bit, but I feel like this is the easiest way for me to kind of go through this and make sure that I'm not missing anything.
So we kind of, we kind of covered the first thoughts and why I need to do it and who reached out.
Where would type of vibe find it in the venue checking that, oh okay, so me being in Vegas and you guys know how much of a home body I am.
I knew I had to host it here, but I also knew about this venue specifically, and this is kind of like where I knew it had to be.
Regardless of the challenges that come with being in that building from a sponsorship perspective,
there's a lot of things in there, guys, like just being blunt, like that really handcuff me.
And the venue was incredible.
It's not to, just sometimes it is what it is.
Like there's a lot of things that have to work the way they have to work.
But I knew it had to be in there because this space is just perfect for what I wanted to create,
which was like, you know, the beyond the summit style with a laidback environment.
But the laidback environments, awesome and all and it's cool.
But fans never got to participate in that, you know?
They're always outside looking in online.
Where, so it was, the venue was perfect
because we can bring in fans.
But like, just as I was sitting earlier,
not everybody there is gonna be a Mars one fan.
There's a lot of people that they're not gonna even know.
They're there for counter strike, right?
Like, the, at the end of the day,
they're there for the CS,
and they want like different things to do,
which is perfect, right?
Like, I'm not expecting, and I saw it firsthand.
I was not expecting a full house on Saturday
where we have four best of three's plan,
and none of them are playoff matches,
and we were simultaneously running games
at the start of the day.
Like, I am not expecting fans to be in that building
for 11 to 12 hours, watching CS.
So that's why that venue is great
is because we're in Vegas.
So we fans can go in and out of the venue
they can go check out, you know, Vegas, the strip,
they can go like check out different restaurants
and gambles they fucking want to,
they can go to a show.
Whatever they wanna do, like there's options.
And then inside the venue, right,
like we had like the simulator setups,
we had 10 men that could be run, you know,
there were a lot of things that,
there's, I didn't want it to feel like a production
were like a show. So I didn't want that. Like that's not what that event was like.
And I guarantee you that nobody that went there felt like it was like a show. And I
don't mean that in the bad way. But like what do you go to an ESL or blast event? You go
there. You know when the counter strike is going to be played. You sit down and you are there
for like their production and their the intensity of the counter strike at all times. And you're
just you're watching that event and you're
still there for that where this is more like
you're coming here with like your friends
you're enjoying the environment, you're engaging
with the CS that's there and you're
having a good time when the CS is good
but you can also go and
entertain yourself in other ways because
you're not necessarily like going to be locked
in for 11 or 12 hours.
So that was like why the venue was so important.
It was in Vegas.
It allowed us to basically provide different things inside the venue that kept people entertained while they being realistic about not, you know, expecting them to watch 12 hours straight of CS.
And it was everything I could ever want it basically in one spot where a lot of other things were like conference halls, you, right, like,
Right, we can all get my room together, all sit down in one spot and not move for 10 hours.
Great, you know what I mean, that's just not, it's not really what I wanted to do.
So, it was important for me for the energy I was trying to create to make sure it wasn't.
I'm not really trying to compete with like a blastery, so I'm trying to create my own thing.
And I think we did a good job of separating ourselves from that
and creating our own style and own field to an event.
Getting a career together to help figure out
logistics, production, the admins, the magic setters.
So luckily I just already had, obviously,
like, who's got the fucking, who's got the staff photo?
I think it was like, some like 70 people are some shit.
50 people, 50 to 70 people.
No, I didn't know all those fucking people.
There's a lot of people in there.
But the good news is, I knew every single person that could.
So, you know, me and Slope had always talked about doing a land, but you know, Slope's never hosted a land.
He hosted all the online events, but he has connections with all the players.
And everybody has like their own role already, right?
Like, when it comes to merch, I already obviously sell my own merch.
Chopps literally works for one of the biggest companies in the world handling logistics
for immersion in this company.
And this was like light work for him.
You know what I mean along with Glenn?
This was easy.
So I already have like the merch people.
Cheds, for example, was basically the source of pretty much most of this production team.
And Cheds were going to do those people because of the revival series in the online series.
is basically it was this slow developing world of connections that we've made by just
simply doing what we've already done. And so while I didn't know everybody that worked
on this event and that was coming into work on this event, somebody did and it was really
easy. Like we didn't, we really didn't have to hire anyone that we didn't know that like
is already worked as the S of it. And the best part is that and what I think is really
important for me is a lot of these people come from my community already so they know what I
wanted to do. So like, and that's like, you know, I see sicker typing in chat, which just
marks this memory too, which is I've had other people handle my stuff before the content
and before sicker, they handled my shit and it was awful, not because the content itself was
like so bad or something that they did, it was just more like it wasn't me because they
didn't watch or like know me. And then now in the same thing, but like when I got sick out,
the content felt a lot better because he knows like who I am and what the stream is about.
Now you throw that in there and you take that idea and you apply it to an entire staff of production.
you understand? So like, she has knows exactly how I am, how my stream is, how
my demeanors. So when he recommends and we get firmed, because of that, he also now
under the year I mean, it's like, it's this compounding effect of like, we didn't have
to talk about the show. Like, there was, guys, there was no like, I mean, there was
technically a run of show where we just put times. But I didn't have to tell anybody
anything in terms of what I want of it all to be. Like that never had to, I just like never
really had to happen. And that's just because we were working with people that are either
from my community directly or adjacent to that we've worked with in the past. Vibes based programming.
Basically, yeah. Yeah. So, that's how we basically got like, we just over time,
we've met everybody and we just like yeah I don't know it just it all made
sense it was very easy. Starting to source needs for the event everything from
vendors to hand warmers all man that was all Sam like a lot of these things a lot
of these things are going to this event would have not happened without my
manager Sam. Sam basically was like, yes, chess knows how to do technical production. Yes,
for me, he's like, I'm so bad with roles, but like he's like a director. Yes, at no
sound like run tournaments, but like Sam is literally exactly like where he's standing is actually
a perfect analogy for what he did. You understand? And like, yeah, that's basically it. Like
Like him and then slow was basically his like right hand man, where the bridge that
put or like the glue to all of this.
So in a lot of scenarios, anything being sourced, we like, if we needed something sourced
trops, knew how to source that, but then Sam made sure that like what I wanted out of
trops for the exact sourcing the quality would be the same.
I'm not the vision Sam made it happen pretty much yet like Sam is the glue guy along with
slow that just kind of like put all of it together over time when Sam couldn't handle something
or like just didn't have the bandwidth right like that's for slow would so was usually like
I've never done this before but he got it done and that was kind of just like a lot of learning
you know, I mean, contracts, funny enough, me and Sam basically, yeah, I don't know,
I've just fortunately, I've made a lot of positive impressions of people that do very
intelligent things.
So over the time, finding like things of that nature, like hiring out contracts for
or 50 years, just 70 people wasn't actually that hard.
Just lucky in that sense, just treating people right,
benefit in me was so when I can contact somebody,
it's never like, let me look in, do it.
It's usually like, all of course, let's do it.
And this kind of all goes back to me,
telling you, anybody that's ever taught to me privately
has always heard me talk about rotting my own event.
So when I finally send them the message of like,
I'm doing the thing, can you help me?
They're like, hell yeah, I can't let's go.
It's about fucking time.
So it just became really easy to handle
even difficult tasks like contracts.
Because I was, everybody kind of knew
it was like what I was doing, what I needed.
Yeah, the being restricted to gambled definitely hurt,
you know, and one of the reasons why I weren't
profiting.
I wasn't gonna take a case site,
but as many of you guys know,
I'm sponsored by CS Money,
and I love working with those guys.
And yeah, with that, that one was a big camper.
I found that out and I didn't snitch.
Because at the time, Frank and Delphi,
I think kind of case night, and I was like,
not trying to blow up their spot.
Well, they were funding so many events.
But you have all of I think, during that,
there was like a Frank and Delphi game where
the final spot was for the major,
and I think one of the valve employees
tuned in, and they were like, what the fuck?
Don't do that.
So that was being restricted definitely
was like, obviously I wasn't going to do skin gambling, but not even being able to get a market place was tough.
Um, the end game hard. I mean, all this kind of I'm like, I'm going to end up repeating myself for a lot of this stuff.
We just knew the people already and I knew luckily for me, I just had thought about this for such a long period of time.
I knew exactly what I wanted. So when I came to HUD,
I knew we wanted to get something similar to blast because with the lower overlay and me wanting to recreate a co stream field being on the stream all the time.
I knew we needed more space on the screen and like something classic on the sides like what ESL does doesn't work
so JT
made it and like that's and that was it was as simple as that like we just
We already knew the person that could make the HUD and I already knew exactly what I wanted in the sense of like overall layout
and so
So, yeah, that was pretty much it.
And then the other graphics, funny enough,
once again, I already had the connection,
the people that handled my short form content,
funny enough, it's not sick here, guys.
It's actually, that's outsourced.
It's actually this green logo right here.
These fellas right here, game plan media,
they handle all my short form stuff,
they do stuff like Smitty as well.
And we just went to them and they've made,
they're all from eSports.
So they made tons of graphics for actually, or packages.
So that was actually super easy.
And getting the teams involved was easy because as soon as I knew it was
land, I knew that they'd have to come basically the VLS.
I just want to, you know, we touched on that about wanting to help out the scene.
Yeah, we want it.
And as always, me and Slove always try to make sure we don't overlap to fuck
over teams. Now, I just want to say this, energy always planned on dropping out of
Blast Bounty after they qualified for Crackout to my understanding. This is not directly
from them, but like, you know, unfortunately for them, they were flying over there and they
would have had to play like one online game potentially and then just be done. So instead of that,
there's like, we'll just focus on they're in Europe, but they're just focusing on Crackout and then
and maybe actually still a time because they play Thursday so but
back to the question we always try to find gaps in the calendar to make sure we're not
fucking over the players as much as we possibly can without hurting ourselves
and then the casters were the easiest part

Um, they, me and Jason have talked about working or like if I ever, basically Jason,
It's like flam whenever you run your event. I'll be there. That was it. So me and Jason have just like have this in the works for a while.
In the sense that he knew whenever I was running the event, he knew that I would be calling to him and when I called to him and I told him what I was doing.
and they loved it like didn't come to a process as soon as they walked in the arena
dude I thought they're like I mean they could have just been saying this to me
because it's my event and obviously at the end of the day like yes I am paying
them but they were telling me that they felt like this is where all of this
should be like coming from right like this is what they feel like they
felt like what I was doing is what Eastwood should be and like I said they
I could, you know, the end of the day I'm not naive, like I know, I know people are going to say a lot of nice things to me, especially if I'm responsible for having them there.
But like, yeah, it was, I think they really meant it and it seemed like they'd been trying to tell blasts in the SL that there's room for these types of events.
And this is what he wanted. He'd already mean so they weren't yet the castors and like this crew like I said extra jetty for the like these guys do revival mythic up for me
And you know Chris is going to never turn out a free trip to Vegas with monsters like that was the easiest part actually
Yeah, we then the venue is great. We were talking about that. Oh
Yeah, okay, so like the venue themselves
one side.
Did any of themselves all be honest? They went from, they were very, very, very hesitant.
And this isn't to flame them at all. Like, they didn't know CS, and that's not like their fault.
They just hadn't had like a CS event in there, and we lost the venue.
Like there was emails going back and forth with like my team where I was like involved
But like obviously I like the team do the talking. That's why I have them
But it kind of fell through to kind of die like literally we lost them and you and it kind of all fell flat
And then I basically showed up at their front door
And they're like you know to give you an idea of like how many steps we had to kind of
Go over they didn't even know I live there even though we were talking with them
So like when I showed up, they're like, what the fuck? Why are you here? And but to
their credit, like as soon as I showed up, they knew I was like serious and they immediately
got me in contact with like their COO, his name is Mark and me and Mark sat down and talked
for probably like five hours. The first time I went in there and we just chopped it up as
as much as we could.
And he eventually basically agreed
to let me have the venue on the days that I wanted.
And but it was tough because there's a lot of people
that have gone into this venue and tell these guys
like they're gonna run in the esports event
and they're gonna sell this place out
and like they just have never seen it like.
Sure they've had like Ninja and Mr. Beast
and here and stuff for Ludwig in here.
And they sell it out, but those are like super massive ones.
And then they said that those crowds
are nothing compared to like what we had in terms of the energy.
And that was like such e-learning,
but like this was an eye opener for them too.
When we priced the venue, when we told them we were gonna sell
like a VIP table and like you guys said it was cheap
and they were like literally convinced that nobody would buy it.
Like, and this isn't them trying to insult me.
You guys need to understand, like I said, they had so many people go in there and like basically hustle, right?
Like, oh yeah, we could do this, we could do that and it all just falls fucking flat in there and nothing happens.
So I, and this is kind of how I was talking in the discord if you guys are in a, you know, like,
these are the hurdles that I'm talking about. Like, it's not the people are like, fuck you, like you're,
you can't do that, like it's just they don't know. And then what they do know and their previous experiences is you're working through,
you're like a lot of their fucking trauma, basically.
Like, I'm still there, like, no, no, no guys, like I swear.
I think I can get this place, still that I swear.
Um, but they just don't know, you know what I mean?
Uh, but that's, I mean, that's clearly changed now.
Let me just put it that way.
Like, eh, I'll say the day one of ticket sales,
that was immediately changed.
like that's what I mean like I was not kidding you guys literally their finance department was
like what the fuck just happened um and from that moment on like they were like
all right yeah you're fucking serious that's that's our bad we weren't really trying to
like jerk you around but like we would love to you're like let's go you know what I mean
uh so yeah I mean it was like 90% of the tickets sold in the first three hours
And the tables, we set the price, their financial person basically
shit themselves with their face right in front of me.
And we sold those in two minutes.
So like, yeah, it was a we apologize we weren't familiar with your game.
Quite literally, yes, that is what happens.
And it was, but so all this is like, we have a great relationship with the venue.
They were never like difficult with us.
But it was kind of difficult to get the ball rolling because like I said they've had so many people
fucking over in the past and like they had their bit they're a bit jaded to me but like understandably so and now that's like
you know we're getting there man like it's it's a completely different conversation now which is really cool and you guys didn't like I'm I'm gonna
Pander to you, but it's true like
They've sold that venue and that many seats before but never for like
They've just never had anything like that and they've before
And when it came down to like crunch time, man,
just the entire team, to wrap this up,
the entire team of people that we got were insane.
Yeah, there was, this picture has no fucking weak links,
I'll tell you that right now.
I don't know if anybody in here's doing so much insane shit,
like, yeah, there's unbelievable weekend.

But the reason why we didn't have the rehearsal day is because CS and the, it's the
HyperX arena chat and HyperX was using that for the CS week.
So we got in there and set everything up in like an hour or a day and a half with no testing
and we only had a 40 minute delay.
Just so you understand, yes, maybe that is my own fault, but we had to hit these dates.
So we didn't fuck over teams from blast and it was the only time that we weren't conflicting
with other tournaments basically.
like it was that that would like otherwise we would have been in their earlier.
Well yeah man it was insane. We had a great team you know the sponsors were great like monster
fucking not my power. Ben Kugin all of me get me all the monitors due display for him. Ben Kugin
got me the monitors like one day before monster photographer literally carried the
he hand delivered the headsets from Fracadelphia. Answer the last question on this

tour another venue yesterday for nothing. And with that being said, I'm gonna go
