Back in 2020, the YouTuber Dream was banned from the Minecraft speedrunning community after
it was uncovered that he was using a mod to increase his luck.
This was a really big deal at the time.
He was arguably the biggest cheating scandal in speedrunning history.
Dream initially denied all allegations that he had modded his game, even going so far
as to hire an astrophysicist to draft a report outlining why his luck was not
unreasonable.
Though ultimately, half a year later in 2021, Dream would eventually admit that his game was modded, but without his knowledge.
According to Dream, it was merely an accident that he only became aware of after the scandal had come and gone.
I made a very in-depth video covering Dream's story, and at the end of the video I came to the conclusion that Dream was more than likely being truthful.
Can you believe it? This was over five years ago, which seems like a lifetime.
And now, all this time later, Dream has come under fire again.
This time people are accusing Dream of cheating in the parkour section of the MCC.
A regular Minecraft tournament featuring many of the biggest-

Parkour is another competitive niche of Minecraft that runs adjacent to speedrunning and PvP.
is a simple game but the parkour landscape is pretty huge with people trying to master
a variety of different types of jumps and maneuvers. And Dream was considered by many
to be one of the best parkourists in the world, at least five years ago when he was
in his prime. The main accusation that has really propelled Dream back into the spotlight
is the parkour event during MCC-11. And the specific allegation is that Dream was
using a macro to automatically jump at the edge of blocks.
If Dream really was cheating in the MCC, it would be a pretty big deal.
This was just a for-fun event, full of really large and successful content creators.
Once again, people have resorted to trying to use statistics to prove Dream is guilty.
But this isn't as simple as calculating the odds of getting specific drops.
Parkour is a physical skill raised on player inputs.
How would stats and rods really play in?
Well today I'm going to examine the recent cheating allegations levied against Dream
and see if they hold up to scrutiny. I will also see if these recent allegations
affect the conclusion I had previously come to in regards to his speed runs.

The Leon 25 series is easily the biggest set that's ever been done on a skateboard,
and stuff usually looks smaller on film, so this should speak for itself.
I mean, just standing up here is pretty jarring, but let's get some actual measurements.
