FNS played Pro CS for 8 years before Valorant, across Team CLG, Complexity, Cloud9 and more, but never won a single tournament.
When he had the trip to Valorant in 2020, he was 28 years old and troethilus.
He debuted in 2020 on a team called Together We Are Terrific, who got picked up by MV.
They were not great until 2020, and it took a good few roster shuffles until 2021 for them to find their feet.
What's the roster of Victor, Crashies, Marv, Ye and FNS was established, they started cooking,
and finished runners-up-

After Champs that year, Team MV merged into the prestigious Optic Gaming org, who have
a lengthy history in COD, and wanted to try their luck in Valorant.
And luckily for them, they acquired the best team in NA and the most dominant team of the year to come.
With the release of Chamberlain, Jay became the best player in the world.
And he helped Optic win Masters Rikovic, allowing FNS to win his first ever trophy as an IGL.
They came third at Masters Copenhagen and they were runners-up at Champions 2022.
And if you round up, we basically won the trophy.
was undeniably the best IGL in Valorant in 2022, and it looked like his long wait for
trophies was finally paying off. But when Optic missed out on a VCC franchise slot for 2023,
the call moved over to MRG without yet. Unfortunately, it was downhill from here.
What and FNS was released at the end of the year, turning his focus to streaming instead.
After a brief comeback on NRG in 2025, FNS announced his retirement from pro-play, and
NRG went on to win champs without him.
After 13 years of competitive play, FNS called it quits, but as it turns out, that is nowhere
near the end of this story.
A lot of people would look at FNS's stream right now.

Now, and think he was an overnight success that leapfrogged Taric to steal the number

An interview about his own success, Zelsis, friend of FNS, explained that most esports
players have the dream of lifting titles, but forget the importance of streaming and
content and building your brand alongside your career.
My biggest inspiration I would have to say, like my overall from starting is probably
shroud being like a top tier pro player while also building a brand, being the quote on
quote like sports to like e-sports transition like because like sports
players they all have big brands you know big fan bases while also being like
really good player and I think like e-sports kind of lacks on that like
e-sports players don't really build their brands it's kind of hard to build
like a fan base because it's like a growing system like a growing scene so
hopefully like more players get into that but I think it was shroud because he
kind of like did content while also being a top tier player.
FNS has really followed the blueprint set out by Shroud. His personality was already built,
tested and battle-hardened across years of streaming regularly-ish, while competing at the
top level. Lots of retiring pros have an old crap moment, realizing that they needed to build a
brand and content from scratch to continue in the space. FNS didn't. But why has the last two
years been such an explosion for this man specifically because it's not just
that he's been streaming, in fact most people don't watch his streams anymore
they just watch his clips and those clips aren't even from-

just excited about what it would look like to reopen the system back.
like anyone can have a path, right? That's Riley, who works on Valorant eSports strategy at Riot,
and I spoke to both him and Bill from Riot as well about the changes coming to the VCT next
season. He mentioned they're reopening the system, and that's the first of three reasons I think
these changes are hugely significant for the future of the game. The VCT will become way more open.
Valorant franchising defined a clear separation between tier one and tier two,
But in this new system, there's really only one big layer of competition, because every tournament will start with a fully open qualifier.
Any team can sign up and play, and as long as they keep winning, they can eventually play at the highest level of competition.
This is so different to the previous system, where a new team would have to play at least a whole year of tier 2 tournaments before they got a single chance to play in tier 1, and now it could literally be a couple of weeks.
The other thing about these open qualifiers is that there'll be much more region-specific,
so instead of Americas, it's North America, Brazil,
Latin North, and Latin South, which introduces an element of representation to your country
that we used to have in the pre-partnership era and has been kind of lost during franchising.
What we really wanted to do is take that special sauce of valorant and try to make it
sing in regional markets and local markets a bit more than we have in the past few years.
I think we've left behind this idea of a Brazilian superstar on a Brazilian team.

Just the possibility of anyone being able to sign up and go all the way,
introducing an element into the system that we haven't really had for years,
but the second reason these changes are so significant is that for the first time since franchising was introduced,

into them, I think they'll feel much more like the events of the pre-partnery era,

So how the draw is going to work is I'm going to draw the first seeds.
They're going to go in group A, B, C, and D sequentially.
Then we'll move to the second group.
And we'll keep doing that until we have our groups, our final groups.
The most important thing to know is that no regional matchups are allowed.
So what that means is if we have two of the same groups, we'll simply move them to the next valid matchup.
If we get to group D and there's no valid matchup, we will then revert, swap back to group C or group B or group A until we have valid matchups.

Remembering that the groups can't have confrontations in the same region.
In other words, if a team is out of EMEA and they already have EMEA,
this team goes to the next group available.
If they arrive at the last group and there is no way to put this team without a regional confrontation,
