So, we're now 19 hours after release, and yeah, we're back in the studio.
We've had like a few hours sleep, and we just wanted to give you a quick update
and like a recap of what actually happened last night.
I actually want to see this, even if you don't like War Dogs,
like, seeing the release of a game with hundreds of thousands of people trying to connect to it,
this is going to be interesting.
I kind of like the behind the scenes of it all.
We started confident.
On the lead-up to launch, sales were through the roof.
We just raced our launch trailer.
We got 245,000 peak concurrent players in the beta,
so we were feeling great.
Then launch it five o'clock.
As soon as we hit it, shit hit the fan.
I know we said we had a zero tolerance stance on anti-cheat, but that very very quickly turned
into banning our legitimate alpha testers.
He's calling right now, he's mass banning, he's mass banning, get him on the phone.
Including Shroud and Summit.

At the same time, we also saw hundreds and thousands of players hammer the logging queue
at the exact same time as everyone was just getting banned.
But the reality is like, there is no excuse.
We knew in the moment, we either fixed the Q now
or we're fucked.
This is our entire reputation online.

The difference between Alpha and Beta
was those hundreds of thousands of people
were all at once at five o'clock on the dock.

The effect is that the queue is now finalised for the next week.
So at this point, we've already restarted the back end,
trying to fix the rate limiting,
and then discovered the token problem.
We're in a situation where that isn't working.
This game is just really hot.
The decision was made that we had to deploy a hotfix.
Lee slams it in and does an amazing job
of putting in a situation where when you get
to the front of the queue, we get a new ticket.
You bypass the queue, grab a new ticket from the Deli counter
and say, I was really number one.
That's the hotfix.
Lee puts that in, he does a new build, we get that deployed, and we push that hotfix
out to everyone.
We ask everyone to update and everybody in the community.
I hope everybody was sucking Lee off.
I'm going to be honest.
That guy Lee deserves a handy immediately.
Did a fantastic job of turning that around.
That then fixes the problem where you've now got your new ticket in front of the queue
and you've been looking.
So once we pushed that hotfix out, we didn't want to just open the floodgates and let everybody
because we had no confidence at that point that we weren't just going to get ray limited again.
So we had to control how quickly people were moving through and we knew that this was like a one-shot thing.
We wanted to make sure this was done properly and safely and get everybody into the game.
Sorry about tonight guys. I don't mean to say it once with a screamer cue thing, but they're
They're entertainers, they have 100,000 people watching them and when we have a queue with
loads of people and people come watching, there's this entertainment there for people.
So, in our mind, that's a good thing.
