But those models are big and slow and probabilistic
So they're hard to control like traditional way. It's only for the 5,000 series
It's the input like tax prompt which leaves plenty of room for them to improvise
When given the same prompt ten times a model will output ten different results
So DL65 takes the best of both worlds. It's not conditioned on prompts
It uses the renders of the game, which was 2000 series by its artist and built by the game engine.
And Generation becomes the final appearance stage, infusing the scenes with photorealistic lighting and materials.
This enables developers to push beyond the traditional limit of real-time compute and VRAM to realize their own time.
On 2000 series, you turn this on as it links zero FPS.
work inside a real-time renderer meant solving three fundamental challenges.
The first one is preserving artistic intent.
Genital models altered images by design, so we trained B.L.S.S.5 to preserve the artistic
intent by keeping the geometry, textures, and light-shadow relationships exactly as the
artist created them.
This guarantees character identity, composition, and scene semantics are all locked.
It also means that new rendering model is deterministic.
The same input will always produce the same output.
The second challenge is consistent frame-by-frame
generation.
Regular video models have to generate frames in chunks
to make them temporally coherent.
In a game, the next frame depends on the player input.
By leveraging motion vectors from the game engines,
Fiosas 5 runs one frame in, one frame out,
while ensuring the output is stable and consistent
with no shimmer, swimming, or drifting.
The third challenge is speed.
Generative foundation models can create images of anything,
but it takes seconds per frame.
So we design a fast, specialized generator model
that does only one thing.
Make real-time rendering look more real,
and make no mistake,
it's not a conventional post-process filter.
The model still carries what those big generator models
learned about the real world.
understand things like object types, human features, and light sources, and what
Valkyries can make these elements more photoreal. For example,
mirror rendering knows only to add scatter or glow on hair and fur, but not
metal crates. Making an image more realistic is an artistic decision. There's
no single correct answer. Which look fits the game, how strong the effect should
be, and where it should apply, those are creative calls to make, and they belong

technology. We work directly with NVIDIA researchers to give developers and artists the
the technologies and tools to bring their vision to life.
To demonstrate the benefits of Delos S5,
I will show scenes from two NVIDIA tech demos,
and the controls developers can use
to redirect the final result.
Starting with the ramen shop,
his geometry and facial structure aren't changed
when Delos S5 is enabled,
but changes are the visual cues and the light response.
Around the head and fabric,
ambient occlusion is more defined
and compact shadows are tighter.
The ears game where natural subsurface scattering
as light passes through them
and the eyes pick up clear reflections.
Those additions do not replace the chef
with unrelated interpretation.
They make the existing character, materials,
and lighting feel more complete.
Let's take a look at how Delos S5 interacts
with the clear render scene from Zora,
which has no materials or textures.
You can see the neural rendering
is not altering any shapes.
Instead, the lighting, materials, and self-shattering
become more complete.
The model preserves and enhances the foundation
the game provides.
follow the shape of her mouth and the proportions around her eyes.
They remain intact.
With neural rendering, the lips and skin
gain more convincing self-shadowing and reflections.
The hair gains more natural strand definition, volume,
and light response.
The result remains grounded in the render frame
and information provided by the game.
The better the foundation, the more useful data
the model has to generate to realistic output.
More detailed assets, such as materials and lighting,
contribute to that foundation.
Here is a different section of the same Zora demo,
rust rise without ray tracing.
And now, let's take a look at this scene with DLSS 5 on.
The 3D guided neural rendering enhancements are clear.
However, the result is still not as good as it could be,
because the original frame lacks accurate lighting
information.
But with ray tracing enabled, we can
see that the DLSS output is far more detailed and realistic
because the input has a higher quality source.
And when the base render leverages
path tracing for even more accurate information,
the neural rendering system has even more to work with.
Now that we've seen the visual results, let's take a look at how developers can control it.
There are multiple levels of control. Some come from the model itself, while others come from the game engine.
Together, they let developers art-direct how and where neural rendering is applied.
VSTK offers several models that produce different outputs because they are trained with different parameters.
A developer can choose the model that works best for their content,
and that choice does not have to apply to the entire game.
An interior can use one model, and all there is another.
Developers are able to mix and match.
Now that we have selected a model,
Structure intensity modulates high-frequency details in the frame,
such as ambient occlusion, contact shadows, reflections, and sub-surface scattering.
Tone intensity regulates low-frequency details, such as broader lighting and color response,
which are more expressive.
Together, they let artists decide how much enhancement is applied to the output.
But what if enhancing the entire scene is not the intended direction?
This where masking comes in.
On the model side, the LSS5 understands the content and object level semantics of the scene.
It recognizes the base character while the LSS isn't going anywhere, bro.
Look at how moving the slider is only affecting the character.

These improvements are all happening across the scene all at once.
On the engine side, developers can implement masks.

In this scene, you can apply neural rendering only to the dev masks objects, like the pitcher,
the glass, or the grapes.

Each mask can have its own structure and tone adjusted while the rest of the scene stays
unchanged. Imagine a developer wants to enhance subsurface scattering. DLSS is still predicting

The second point is the developers have full control where neural rendering is used and
and how it is applied, and how strongly effective, allowing them to use the technology.
