[00:17:36] and potentially, I don't know how we play RE2 remake again, RE4 remake, what's up, Lance,
[00:17:40] and doing a randomizer for RE4. I kind of want to go back and play RE7 again,
[00:17:44] because perspective in time has changed about bro.
[00:17:47] Like, I want to go back and see what the hell's going on.

[00:19:26] It obviously was Neo inspired, but like, it felt like a lot of the game mechanics were getting the way of me having fun with it.
[00:19:33] Um, anyway, a criticism also of Neo games is that they don't really get great until the new game plus that kind of happened with the old one.
[00:19:42] Um, on the mission now, I've played on Emusa it is not a Neo like it's not it's a straight-up action game dude.
[00:19:48] There's there's almost no like RPGness to it at all.
[00:19:52] Never tried to rise to the run of my team ninja. I didn't I didn't I did try I'm

[00:21:17] and you're either going to be really into the loot system gear so as like, yes, 100%.
[00:21:22] Neo kind of like started that for the most part, um, when Neo likes be a thing though,
[00:21:27] absolutely, there's absolutely Neo likes a lot of them are made by the exact same
[00:21:30] does. Don't get me wrong. But all I'm trying to talk to talk to you guys about is that
[00:21:38] I don't know if Neo 3 is going to get me. I'm going to try it. I hope it does. It's got a different
[00:21:42] system, um, but I really, really, really like Neo 1. I liked it. And then Neo 2 was kind of

[00:21:59] And the craziest thing about Neo 3 is that I look at Neo 3 and I'm like, this doesn't
[00:22:02] look that much different than Neo 1 from a graphical standpoint as well.

[00:22:13] know, jumping over the rail of the previous game in terms of like, leaves of quality.

[00:22:19] PSO Neo, like not at all, no, none of that kind of stuff is in PSO.
[00:22:23] PSO is much closer to Diablo 1.
[00:22:27] And literally that comparison is made ever since it was made.

[00:26:04] by the way, 11th anniversary Bloodborne. Bloodborne undoubtedly took my number two spot
[00:26:12] is like my number two favorite game of all time. It beat out games like Resident Evil 4 as
[00:26:17] well as Metal Gear Solid, which I thought would never get a clip. I'm like never. These games
[00:26:22] will always be like, it'll always be like FF7, Metal Gear 4. I'm sorry Metal Gear Solid
[00:26:26] Resident Evil 4. It'll always be that shit. Do those games will never lose their spot. And
[00:26:32] And I'm not like a giant per veer of the industry.

[00:26:36] But yeah, Bloodborne knocked all that shit down.

[00:28:04] that. It wasn't that on like first playthrough, it was like on subsequent playthroughs,

[00:28:20] that became number two, I just played over the past month my number two favorite RPG of all
[00:28:28] time. And that that second spot was occupied by Final Fantasy Tactics. It was FF7 and Final
[00:28:33] Fantasy Tactics. And yeah Final Fantasy Tactics was you served by Chrono Trigger. I think Chrono
[00:28:41] Trigger is I like it more. I actually just like it more. Like and I don't even think not even
[00:28:46] not even to think it's a better game. Yeah it's a better game but I also just liked it. Like there
[00:28:51] were very few parts of that game. I would not just be super enthusiastic about playing again. And
[00:28:57] And I just played through tactics again, like again, after almost 10 years, I just played
[00:29:04] through tactics again.
[00:29:05] And that shit was incredible.
[00:29:07] Like the tactics, Evelie's remaster, shit was incredible.
[00:29:12] Like it reinforced my thoughts all over again, that this is like my number two favorite
[00:29:18] RPG I've ever played, like it still is.

[00:31:54] Tim Rogers did like a massive video series covering that and there are so many things that
[00:32:03] there are so many things that people remember about like FF7 and
[00:32:10] they were different in the remake right a little little nods little things that were different in the remake
[00:32:16] were like even I'm just like yeah that really isn't that way in OGFF7 turns out it actually is
[00:32:24] And it's because of a very, if he translation at the time,
[00:32:28] would done by like very few people very fast.
[00:32:31] So like no kidding, many of those elements
[00:32:34] that are actually in the new game
[00:32:36] are, are, are held in direct comparison
[00:32:39] to the actual original story writers.
[00:32:41] And yeah, they're pretty much one to one.

[00:32:45] The Red 13 situation is crazy.
[00:32:47] The bald club, I mean, that's obvious,
[00:32:49] but like no kidding, the Red 13 situation
[00:32:52] is made deeply apparent in the original game's trend, in the original game's actual translation,
[00:33:00] right, and not the one that was done quickly. All the Red 13 voice shit. Yeah, that was there
[00:33:05] in the original game. It wasn't as obvious. It's weird dude. It's crazy. It's crazy. So it was the same
[00:33:13] script progress between the two FF7s between all three FF7s, OG FF7, FF7, FF7, remake and rebirth
[00:33:21] is all the same writer. Yeah, it's, uh, no, no, Gima. Yeah. Can you clarify? Yeah. So as for an example,
[00:33:30] read 13, when he first gets to Cosmo Canyon, because of the way Japanese is very different,
[00:33:38] you can enunciate and deliver information with an attack box a little bit more than you can
[00:33:44] when English and no kidding, they're able to emphasize a very juvenile and younger speech pattern
[00:33:51] that Red 13 has for a moment before he like coughs and realizes how he's talking and he addresses
[00:33:57] the party with a much more elderly speaking tone. But when he's talking to the people that are there
[00:34:03] like Booganag and in shit like that, he's actually speaking with a young dialect. And that's without
[00:34:09] hearing the voice. It's like literally without hearing him talk. So it's like, oh, and the English
[00:34:13] social localized, it just didn't see it.
[00:34:15] There's unfortunately was like one piece of it that was like,
[00:34:19] two fast, you know.
[00:34:21] The other thing is that there's a lot of,
[00:34:27] there's a lot of the original translation,
[00:34:30] the original dude that translated FF7 trying to be funny.
[00:34:34] The quote unquote retard line is one part that always sticks out
[00:34:38] obviously, but there's other parts where like Barrett calls
[00:34:41] cloud white-boy.
[00:34:43] Like, there's a couple of moments like that
[00:34:46] where there's actual, like, a racial identification
[00:34:49] and difference between the two.
[00:34:51] And apparently, it just doesn't exist.
[00:34:55] Like, it's just not there in the original game.
[00:34:58] Like, in the original translation,
[00:35:00] it's like, this is an interesting line.
[00:35:03] Is this there in the OG, in the actual Japanese type?
[00:35:07] It's not.
[00:35:08] It's added as, like, a spicy thing,
[00:35:11] a spicy 90s thing around that like literally you all right white boy type of shit so it's like oh wow
[00:35:18] Wow interesting so same thing happens in anime localization. No, this is not new. This is not
[00:35:25] This is not new. Yeah, Boogan Hagen. It's all Greek to me. There's a lot of that kind of stuff
[00:35:31] At times it's really good at times it's like wow this definitely nails what they were trying to say without it being
[00:35:36] um sort of like completely culturally different. And other times it misses the
[00:35:42] mark entirely. So it's like damn. Okay, interesting. This was really
[00:35:47] interesting. I started watching a lot of that when I was just like laying in
[00:35:50] bad and shit. So yeah, yeah, it was funny. It was funny. Is there a video
[00:35:59] showing this? Yeah, I could, oh here let me, let me give it to you. It's very long
[00:36:03] When did the dude's video making style would not be appealing towards a lot of people?

[00:36:18] Yeah, it's this. So for those of you that are curious about it's very it's very interesting.
[00:36:24] It's just that it's a big commitment. So let's mose a slow translation of Final Fantasy 7.
[00:36:30] And the cool part about like this entire thing is that like that line is very iconic,
[00:36:38] like about the growth of the character, the everything about him, you know,
[00:36:43] and it was pretty spot on. Like there's the way that was translated was pretty,
[00:36:49] was pretty spot on. In fact, they lean into it even more. There's so much more in OG Final Fantasy
[00:36:55] and the original Japanese, that is all about creating a persona around who you think you
[00:37:02] are, and who you want to be perceived as, you know, but the person that's actually underneath
[00:37:08] that is very different. And that's like a huge thematic element of Final Fantasy VII, just
[00:37:14] massive. And it's the same reason why FF7 remake series delves into the Shinre plot line so much,
[00:37:20] where it's like, oh, Shinra's just bad guys.
[00:37:23] And then the new game is like, yeah, well, they're bad guys on the surface, but there's
[00:37:27] normal people living normal lives in here.
[00:37:29] So they do the exact same theme with a lot of different parts of new remakes.
[00:37:33] So it's like, oh, that's cool.
[00:37:34] And that is very apparent.
[00:37:36] Like, aireth is trying to also like, like, aireth and Tifa and UV and like,
[00:37:41] all these characters have something that they're trying to like show to everyone around them.
[00:37:45] But it isn't who they actually are.
[00:37:47] And it takes a long time to them to share who they actually are with everybody else.
[00:37:50] to it to come to actual growth. It's fascinating. It's a very good, very long.
[00:37:58] Evan, fun fantasy 7 was released for the Sony video series. I'm not going to regret
[00:38:02] review it all. Big time. Since 2001, I accidentally moved to Japan and learned how to speak
[00:38:08] and read Japanese. It's been 20 years since Final Fantasy 7 came out. I have more than a decade

[00:42:09] much dialogue. You know what? The other crazy thing that he picked apart was,
[00:42:16] there was something in this Final Fantasy 7 remake review where, for some reason, people just
[00:42:24] got like gas lit into thinking that the midgar section of OGFF7 was like two hours,
[00:42:29] that like, if you want to get through mid-GAR in the OGFF7, it's like 150th of the game
[00:42:36] and they're just stretching out the mid-GAR section to be like, you know, this massive thing,
[00:42:41] massive full game. When in actuality, he played through it again. To me, it's always been about
[00:42:47] six hours. He played through it again and it was seven and a half hours, like seven and a half.
[00:42:54] And then realizing the comparison to like the full size of the story, it's about like
[00:43:01] one-fifth potentially, about one-fifth.
[00:43:05] So the other crazy thing is that I think it was some insane number, I have to go back
[00:43:12] and look at the video, this is a percentage, don't get me wrong.
[00:43:15] But it was a very high percentage of all of the spoken dialogue in the game, came from
[00:43:20] mid-GAR. The amount of like options and people you can talk to, and then the next large
[00:43:26] majority of dialogue throughout the whole game came from side-question, side-question and
[00:43:31] NPCs. So in terms of like main plot and story, apparently mid-GAR is like 50% of the game.
[00:43:38] Like actual 50% plus percent of the entire game is where the majority of the story comes from
[00:43:43] his mid-GAR. And then after that, it's just like a lot of non-consequential dialogue with NPCs
[00:43:49] and shit like that, just like flavor text. It's like, bro, holy crap. So it's fascinating.
[00:43:55] When you actually go back and break it down, like, yeah, it's a, it's a big chunk. Like,
[00:44:00] it's a very large chunk. Yeah. The entire script, Midgar is one-third the entire script, but then
[00:44:06] another massive portion of the script is just NPC dialogue and not main story stuff, like characters
[00:44:12] talking. So it's like damn. That's wild. This one is roughly 70% of the content of the data
[00:44:18] That makes sense because you revisit most of that content out of it from even a data perspective.
[00:44:25] If that's something that comes to chase after Midgar.
[00:44:27] Yeah, no, no.
[00:44:28] Like that's the thing is that Midgar is like its own thing.
[00:44:30] And then it becomes like a cat and mouse chase story.

[00:45:09] in the third disc.

[01:13:20] opponent in between two characters like freely. The team that I play doesn't
[01:13:27] have that. And like about half the roster, it's actually pretty difficult to do
[01:13:31] that to have the ability to switch sides, and then occupy both that space, like immediately,
[01:13:37] it's kind of hard to set that up against like, you know, meetings and all that kind of
[01:13:41] some people that are waking up. Um, so again, other characters have this echo can do it pretty easily.
