Welcome to another Sunday afternoon or morning delight,
depending on where you are in the United States and beyond.
My name is Novanta, and I want to welcome you to CRL Week 3 of League Play.
But as always, I'm not alone.
I'm being joined by some of the luminaries and dignitaries in walking the league,
which is what I'm about chicks into my bass and the man with the velvety tones himself.

Pyro J, I'm starting with you, man.
How you feeling?
I'm feeling great.
It's an honor to be here.
My collegiate brutes, they run deep all the way back from different conferences
to all the opens and the qualifiers here for CRL,
even your rocketeers for that EU collegiate side
will look at some players today like Barris
to add their origin there,
but it feels very full circle.
I get to do it with y'all brilliant friends here today.
So I'm ready, it's gonna be a great day.

I'm feeling good.
I mean, I was just out world last week.
I of course saw Bass there.
We saw many other River friends,
Vodabull, Taco, all them normally on the broadcast, you know, got to see everyone in person.
There's no better feeling than, you know, hanging out with you guys so often and then
finally getting to hang out in person.
And it was just such a surreal experience as it always is to be surrounded by Rocket
League folks that are experiencing it for the first time or have been around in the
scene a while and we get to all reconnect.
So thanks to Phil, like I said on Twitter and on X today, that this is following Worlds
weekend.
So everyone is currently in the Rocket League mindset right now.
Yeah, and Brass on the scale up to Kumi the Merc, how are you feeling?
Kumi the Merc, where are we going?
I'm saying Fennec just because that's the correct answer in all situations.
I'm feeling good man, I'm excited to be back in Worlds, I'm also excited to see
where CRL develops.
is zero started parody a little bit RLCS right now with a very top heavy bracket
or I guess new play standing starting to develop. We keep talking about this being
the closest semester ever and yet somehow there's always a clear top four as there is every semester.
Well, we have a lot to get into when it comes to that. Let's take a look. Welcome back if you've
been here before but this is your first time. You're kind of in for a treat because this
looks daunting from the top down but you know it's all about those you can grind. It's
to 16 team lead play. This is week three of that lead play top four move on for the championships
of the semester of the bottom 12 go with that last chance qualifier, which means it's not
necessarily the end of the line for you, but you realize that window margin for error is getting
smaller by the round. Also, there is a series of 3v3 open circuits with a chance to get yourself
in that last chance qualifier as well. An alternate route if you don't necessarily have that
We play stuff, but the last chance qualifier will be a massive undertaking to get that way.
But the whole idea is the same to make sure you hit that fall championship.
Moving over to the 3v3 open winners.
I just want to give a shout out to Pyros and those a little bit more about that.
I mean, 3v3 opens are kind of a little bit of a side quest,
but had their own kind of pop to them.
I think they highlight the teams that are on the come up, that are ready,
getting ready for that LCQ.
You've got a couple of teams that made pretty short work of their opens.
Ball State Black had a single game loss.
You got Drummondville down there, undefeated run to the finals.
But then you had those teams who really had to duke it out.
York against Kaiser with that win.
You had BPC who had that bracket reset with Syracuse.
Cumberland Maroon had to take out their own sister team in Cumberland Black.
And Davenport, team I've been watching for years.
Bulltea, Brock, Exile, they had to get wins over Kettisaw,
a team with Cronovia and Flitz.
Not an easy run, but great wins of different varieties
for all these teams.
Comfort, Limeroy, and Comfort is Black.
Sometimes it'd be your own people, right?
Let's take a look at the opening standings.
Bass is one of your expertise, man.
Walk me through this one.
What's coming up at you?
Well, the big thing that we're starting to see
is kind of a parody of what happened with Opens
in the last semester. For those that don't know how the opens are going to work here, the big thing is
is not only are you going to get points from each of the opens, but if you don't get points,
your ability to get in the LCQ gets further and further away. And some surprising teams have
missed out on points or missed out on events so far. A name that should be on this list,
not just somewhere on here, but arguably in first place, should be Syracuse. It's a team
that barely missed out on lead play. Now it's looking like they're going to miss out on LCQ
because in the first event, they hit a sub. The sub did not do as well as the regular team.
shocking I know who could have seen this coming they don't get points second
event they do get points but they're placed into a bracket with a BPC and
Sinclair the teams in 6th and 7th right now so they do not win that bracket
either they now find themselves outside the top six team probably not making it
in the LCQ and that's something we're seeing every semester so for any teams
that are listening to this perspective teams maybe they're signing up next
semester do not miss the open I get it you guys are college students you
have a lot going on but every open matter is it as matter if you were
Syracuse, Boise, or whoever.
If you mess up in even one of these events,
that might be the end of your semester.
Far beat for me for being biased here in the castle.
But my undergrad was, what, 45 minutes away from Daytona?
And Daytona, in fact, they're in the conversation
this late in the semester.
But here you go, right on, fellas, you know how it goes.
Moving over to lead play standings,
that's when you get almost ready for our first match
of today.
I want to talk to you about this a little bit.
Sometimes you see some of our normal players
in the mix, some new faces.
How do you make up the same as us far?
Yeah, I mean, as we mentioned there,
we talked very briefly about how top heavy this is getting.
It is very close, you know, in that midsection range,
but Northwood and Concord are truly reigning supreme
at the top of the leaderboard, both so far undefeated,
both insane game differentials.
I mean, you're talking about they've barely dropped
anything at all in order to be
where they currently are at,
and they're taking wins over really good teams.
I mean, Northwood notably recently 3-0 in Winthrop,
not dropping a game there.
At the end of the day,
Boise getting their first win over Fisher.
So you're wondering where's Fisher really gonna land,
Concord 3-0, 3-1 over Akron,
Winthrop 3-0 over Ole Miss.
It's just like all the recent games,
those at the top are currently staying at the top
and those in the middle,
like you're wondering, Baylor, Winthrop,
say where are they currently gonna lie because the top four very little margin for air and to the
top four are going to be in action today. Let's take a look at today's match schedule for week three.
You got two squads pulling double duty ball state and a top and of course you have concord in
the night. Cap or afternoon cap or about that knife and I'm going to ask you Pyro which is one
matchup or minimal matchups that are sitting out for you. I mean, I love the double-double header
here with all state and Concord. You can really pick any one of these matches, but I want to see
how the day wraps up with Fisher and Concord. Concord, one of the two teams that are undefeated,
can anybody take them down? And it would be that huge surprise for Fisher to do it.
the ultimate rising from the ashes as of Phoenix because their team's not looking really as we
expected them to look at the start of the season. So this would be the biggest comeback for them,
for sure. Now I think this is the first time this semester I'm going to be working with you,
Vaz Vaz, to talk to the Champions League pod. What do you think about place matchup today?
I think that we've got a lot of proving grounds here to put it simply. I think Ole
Miss needs to win or at least be competitive in that second matchup if they want to stay in
conversation for one of the top 10 teams in all of CRL.
I think similarly, if Fischer wants to even be in any conversation the rest of the semester,
that's their last chance.
Look, we've talked about this a lot.
There are a lot of very good teams.
I don't want to say anybody is out by week three.
That's an insane statement.
But the truth is, is that the bar to make it into playoffs is around 10 to 12 wins
minimum.
If Fischer loses this match, their maximum record at this point will be 11 and 4.
And that is not a good record for a team that finished second in the last semester.
So for a couple of these teams here, this is the last stand, this is the last straw.
If you can't put up some good wins at this point, you're gonna probably get kicked out
of contention for the rest of the semester and have to try to find a way to play off
through the LCEQ.
I'm looking at Fisher, I'm looking at Cumberland, I'm looking at Ole Miss, and I'm definitely
looking at Ball State.
If Ball State go back to back on losses today, I think that's the end of their semester.
Oh, well, the challenge almost seems insurmountable.
This is what that first match up today.
It's going to be West Virginia against that Ball State and those who've been
listening to CRL for many semesters know that maybe I'm most critical about ball
state in the light brightness but that's a little smidgen, not bad. But I had the chance to do some major damage and look at this roster as we go forward and well we just got word just a moment of go that Jarrow will not be in action for West Virginia with matter getting the call.
Chicks, let me start with you. West Virginia, is this the cheat code they're looking for?
you know I think everyone's just looking to be a little bit more spicy I'm not
saying those of us that are slightly older in the scene are outclassed but we
talk a little bit about those who are just a bit more mechanical or younger
who managed to show off and I think this team and matter you know Devo and
Cosmic tend to be slightly more flashy and that's the chance that WVU is
is taking today. How flashy can they be? Can they be interesting on the field creative with
the passing plays and be unexpected? Jiro brings a lot of experience with him. And sometimes
you need that as a good basis for a team. But at the end of the day, when that younger team
gets comfortable, I mean, let's think of someone like SSG last week, then things happen.
Things happen on the field. So at the end of the day, I'm excited to see
how these three will play together.
That's really what I'm looking at.
Do they have chemistry as this three?
Let's talk about chemistry, Pyro.
Ball stays pretty much put their chips in.
They know their roster's going to be.
This roster announcement from West Virginia
was unexpected to say the least, especially us
for us here in the booth.
If you are a ball state, does your game plan change at all?
Or do you just stay the course?
It's really about maintaining the game plan with God and oath.
This is their fourth season together under Ball State.
So whereas you have this team of WVU,
that's very much organic of this year.
How do we fit this new recruit of Devo in with Matter
for Ball State?
It's like, okay, let's bring in Thebes
and fit them into the mold that works with God and Oath.
So these are two teams that have their eyes set
on the top four,
but their journeys there will look very different.
Oh, man, well, I can't wait to see this one.
But before we get into the first matchup,
we gotta get the predictions in there
to make sure that we are on point.
I know as you keep a score about how the predictions are going,
I think I'm still in the lead.
I'm gonna wait till the next the last to have you.
Chicks, I'm gonna start with you.
Predictions, first match up here at West Virginia
as a strong team.
Are you'll be stronger against Ball State?
What's your view?
Yeah, I decided to go with West Virginia,
I think so far this season,
they've proven to be a little bit more consistent.
Yes, this roster shake-up shakes things up a little bit,
but I do believe Matt is still a very strong player
at the end of the day,
and he should fit in very easily to the post.
Well, well, well, Pyro, I mean, chemistry versus skill
versus timing, it all counts.
But what do you have for your prediction today?
Well, listen up,
because I haven't had a single wrong prediction all season.
Oh!
It's gonna be a very, very close one.
And it does hurt my heart
Jirah is not playing for West Virginia today.
First ever tournament I watched was from the Peeps DreamHack 2019.
One of my favorite players from the beginning.
My heart's still eyes with them today.
WPU in my mind take the win in five.
Both teams have tough historically.
I come a little short of the promised land pass.
Let me know if you're with the wave
or you're going in the direction.
Well, the thing is, is that one of these two teams
did not come up short last year.
We talked about how like once a year,
Ball State will win a national championship. That doesn't really make sense.
These two teams did that last year at the nation's national championship.
Well, West Virginia, the favorite by far to win it, didn't.
And they lost to Ball State.
Since then, Ball State have kind of been, you know, talking about like,
hey, we got this comeback potential, not today.
I think West Virginia are going to win to take that as a chip on their shoulder.
I think they're going to come back here with some ferocity.
And I think they're going to take this win pretty comfortably, I would say, as well.
West Virginia are just outside my top four right now.
And if they get a win here in a significant manner,
there's a chance that they start getting into that conversation.
No, I'm torn for not for the reason you're thinking.
I got West Virginia. I do.
I'm not going to bury the lead there, but at the same time,
I'm also never wrong.
So Pyrr and I are pretty much on the same side of things.
I want to make sure we are top of that predictions list.
And so if you have a difference of opinion,
make sure to listen to the chat.
But I think the teams are ready to go.
I think we're about ready to have our first contest of the evening.
So let's get to it.
It is a best of five matchup.
The Mountaineers, the West Virginia are taking on the Cardinals
of Ball State.
Both teams are looking to exorcise their demons.
Can they do it on the pitch?

Great heights to reach for both teams here
as the Mountaineers climb, and the Cardinals
fly to that coveted hot-force spot.
It's highly contested, and what better way
to open the show today than see the two Titans
of West Virginia and Ball State do get out. I'm so ready for this one like we
said there's history between these two but beyond the history between these two
their playoffs at both teams believe they can make. That's the big problem we're
seeing right now is that as much as eight teams believe that they can get to
these heights it's about what can you do on paper. Every game matters every
series determines how far you will climb. Ball State West Virginia game one
here for CRL Sunday Pyro. I'm excited to finally join you in the booth.
Oh, it's a pleasure to be in the booth with you, Bass.
It's a pleasure to see this West Virginia three spot that we're witnessing right now.
Devo is a player you can't see on the field.
Matt, previously done, is a player you've got to see.
And now we get to see them coupled up with Cosmic.
This team, they have the talent to go as far as they want to.
Let's see if they can actually put it together so far for the first minute here.
Rather uneventful.
A couple of demos here or there for both teams really just trying to kind of feel out this first game.
I know it's a stereotype, but it is for a reason.
With two teams that have faced off against each other so many times,
there are going to be some little growing pains here or there.
It's a new roster for both of these teams.
Feeds gets added to the Ball State roster.
We already talked about the change that have happened for West Virginia
and changes that are still ever present and ongoing.
I do think though, first goal should be to Ball State, if not for the demo.
Break away with 1v1 with Devo, that's going to have to be a hard 50 and he does not find it, so West Virginia get away with one early here in Game 1.
Yeah, don't forget about that demo spawn, you get to choose where you go, and that was certainly affected and not saved from Oath, but passing plays could be affected as well.
Had Oath not snipped that one out and it gets the interception.
One, flowing out of midfield.
Thought back to Oathish.
I was going to say, should be fine.
It's a bit of an awkward catch on the backboard.
Tries to pinch it out, but with no boost, can't get further than midfield.
People are going to take that back boost as well.
So it looks like a bit of boost starvation now against Ball State.
Pinch on target is actually going to turn into an own goal.
I think that West Virginia thought they had that one easily,
but two players ricochet it right in front of the net.
This is bringing me back to the first match of CRL.
Sorry gyro, but that own goal that he scored at West Virginia
They're just a little bit cursed when it comes to the own goal wing
I give them the benefit of the doubt though. Those pitches can be rough
It's not CRO if we don't have at least one own goal
I'm surprised to see it be the one that opens up the series, but that's fine
West Virginia have plenty of time to respond here and so do ball state if they want to try and get another
That's out to the corner do himself. It's got tons of moves, but nobody's center
so now we'll just send it wayward.
Out the gov, a heavy touch,
but you should be able to get back to it
with probably looking for a reset,
but with too committing for WVU and low boost,
this gets earned to even further problems.
Back into their own half,
ball state will go, get challenged by Devo,
not as good a challenge by Max.
However, nobody from ball state gonna go for this,
so clear airspace or Cosmit looking to get this center
can't find the bump, the pinch back out,
goes back into West Virginia's half,
and we reset again.
I'm maybe just with that new dev boost
that would have been enough
speed to get him to the goal line, but not quite gonna have to rely on some skill as well.
Well, Devo's the guy you look for for that top recruit from the high school league for
this season.
Nearly made it happen.
How about the follow up from Cosmic?
We said it was only a matter of time and it's not surprising that Cosmic's the one
to do so.
Great 50 here from Matho, baits out two different players.
Mat immediately goes headhunting and doesn't even need to.
The third player is respawning or going for boost.
I can't really see out of the peripheral, but it doesn't matter.
Nobody's home, it's one to one, and we've got a ball game tied now with who to go.
It's about underestimating these first year's Phoebes.
Almost had something off the kickoff.
I just love bringing the limelight onto those first years,
joining us here, Devo and Phoebes, to really making waves so far in this series.
But for West Virginia, it's about continuing to limit those mistakes
and maybe limit their ability to be demoed.
That's two on the side from Ball State.
Just chasing him the entire way down the pitch there at that point a little bit awkward
But honestly it's gonna work out for both teams
They got a chance to reset here grab some booze and we get back this midfield play that has been so hotly contested
Oh, don't look me something more ask back out
I should get awkwardly on the top of God's car means thieves now needs to be careful
Cosman running some interference. Where's the follow-up from West Virginia to blocked out by fiends despite the interference will make a great stop
Maybe now transition it the other way
no pinch right back into the ball state half.
It does kind of feel like West Virginia
are starting to find some comfort in this game.
They're stealing boost, they're keeping possession
for longer times, and ball state need to find an answer.
They're also adding to those demos,
and that's going to force mistakes out of ball state
a team that we haven't really seen make many mistakes.
So under their own plan, they'll be nearly flawless,
but with this disruption from West Virginia,
that could change.
Cosmic out to Devo.
Devo's there, skim gonna go on target, but gah in the way.
Follow up from feet, another safe for him, but the onslaught's not done, and that's a
mischallenge, meaning Devo can lead the way for Cosmic, but the bump's not enough.
Under a minute to play, shots firing against the ball state, net none of them making it
on target.
Devo gonna try again through the corner, finks another good 50, Matt with a full
tank of boo should win this 50, and kinda does, but it's up to Cosmic to recover.
Like resetting the bag is gonna use it, no fakes it out, pass out to Devo, just not enough power.
And once again, Ball State just hanging on for dear lives.
They're hanging on, but they're taking risks as well.
I mean moments ago, Gull was upfield stealing, boost and bumping,
even when they were suffering on their own backline.
Ball State, they're not playing for OT, they're playing for that counter attack.
Let's see, can they do something with the counter attack here?
Or does Devo get a full court dribble? Not enough.
We're here for Oath though. He doesn't have a ton of boost. If he can't get to this, it should at least be an extended shot for WVU.
I do not blame the second man there. You're not expecting Matt to get a perfect pinch out center, but instead we head to overtime.
O'Teeb's about what we expected from these two teams that are...
HURSTY FOR THE WIN! A VICTORY! Who was more hungry than Oath?
You just got a feel for WVU, you are not expecting Oath to just come popping out in midfield and perfectly put it on target 64 miles an hour, a laser at the net will determine game one.
Wow.
Well, well, well, get it to the midfield for Oath to throw out that redirect.
I mean, the best skim, the best redirect that we saw that game was Divo, a close one to take the lead in regulation.
And Oath just says, hey, I'll do you one better.
It's kind of crazy to think that that really was West Virginia's game to win and lose there
They put up 10 total shots Ball State get only three, but they hit two out of the three truly goes to shows just pressure pressure pressure
But not enough we talked about the inaccuracy of West Virginia amongst a handful of those different offensive plays
But it just really wasn't enough
They need to do something a little bit more because we have seven saves against it
It means that what like two of those shots were really of quality to actually get past them
There's not a lot of West Virginia were throwing at ball state that actually caught them by surprise
Which can make sense these two teams have faced off. I think a million times at this point
They should be relatively familiar with one another
That's what I'm saying go oath and guard players
Especially that you can rely on in moments like that to handle the pressure. There was a lot of resiliency in this team during that match
Yes, they had to make multiple saves, but they had a clean sheet to get there to overtime and then to win
That's the scary thing about Ball State.
You think they bend enough to break, but they just don't.
Not quite, and that's why Ball State
has continued to make it in the lean play year after year
after year after year.
Despite Novanta's best efforts to try and curse them
and remove them from lean play altogether,
they cannot be stopped.
West Virginia, though, however,
have proven themselves stoppable many times
since the team we've touted as best in the nation
and they don't always seem to be able to live up
to those expectations.
Can they do it here and give us a series?
Game two officially underway in Prevent Temple
and uh somebody's gonna shoot this right like at least a shot on target that'll
technically count but boy what a weird start I mean they didn't hit the ball and kick off
and now they're not hitting it on defense and they nearly stored from across the pitch
completely normal start here to get to it's CRL man this is what we love and expect to
get the C and CRL stands for chaos and occasionally the chaos can lead to some
interesting moments no interesting moments to the first 30 here double demo though will
lead space were Phoebes, but you got kid, flip reset out center, that's not going to be
enough, but go back to the full tank, who should be able to corral this?
Just catch here from Matt, beautiful first touch, he saw Cosmic on field, trying to, oh
get the demo respawn, and get them again, tons of disruption still from West Virginia,
their problem is they just can't capitalize from it.
Pass out center does absolutely nothing, Cosmic somehow on the receiving end of it
and gets, oh my goodness, what a reset, can't blame Devo for not getting to that
I think he was expecting a lighter touch.
What do you expect here? How about an open net?
Matt gets a freebie from the Devo demo.
And there's a huge sigh of relief here for West Virginia.
They're thinking how many demos, how many boost steels,
what else is needed to score?
Finally get one in their bag here, a minute intended.
Alright, firstly we're going to see, finally,
see if maybe they can hold on to this one with four minutes to go.
Osbuk with a full tank and full airspace.
Yeah, I'm thinking this will go pretty well for them.
for them. He gets around at least one. Offward, I'm not going to call it double commit, but
Thieves and Oath in similar positions means this shouldn't be a free transition and it's
not. A couple of fifties out of midfield are going to contest, but Guff will take a boost
and get stoned out the way. Devo's there, both didn't get a touch on it. That is
a guaranteed goal to West Virginia. They still might find one. Shot from Matt goes
a bit wide though. That was the second shot from Matt, from the elbow that was
really off. And those are not necessarily shots that have to be top corner perfectly
They slotted right on target, but they kind of are shots
that you want to apply more pressure.
So I'm looking for that precision
to improve over the series.
I think that's one thing that West Virginia kind of struggled
with in this game, though, is that in game one,
they were just firing shots at net
and constantly having to follow up.
Game two, it feels like they're
trying to be a bit more precise with them.
So look, this is up to the audience.
They can decide which one they prefer in the current moment.
But it's really up to West Virginia
to figure out which one's going to be more successful.
A disruption plate is definitely working, though.
A team pump between the and the is
going to leave them even further on defense.
They're the only one with any boost in the tank and he has to try and get a 50 just to survive.
Left placement for Moth's gonna help them for a second, but are they gonna be able to keep this ball in a less dangerous territory?
Where is the exit route for Ball State?
Is there any at all?
And still they remain under pressure.
Cosmic gets a great shot there from the corner just off the mark.
All goes back to mid.
Another redirect from Ball State gives them some room to breathe.
They just need the boost, man.
Both of those midfield boost grabs
are going to be huge for Ball State.
The problem is they might have to use all of them
just to keep it off their half.
They'll finally pick up some boost,
but he's 50 out by Defoe,
and Oath doesn't have any boost to work with.
And that's the problem with getting boost off.
It's not just, oh, pick up a pad,
we're back and we're ready to go.
You have to use that boost
in order to get off your half
and start an offense.
And Ball State did not do that.
Great catch from Cosmic's going to send it back
into the Ball State half,
and more offense now blossoming for West Virginia.
So much to prove here for West Virginia
this changing lineup just to say that hey we figured it out this is the three
men roster right here that we want to prove they have to release those doubts
or quell them with a game with a play like this another stretch play from
cosmic that does get them back in territory Debo centering for Matt Matt
first touch gets out of the way he's just not able to keep it under wraps but
this one from cosmic gets so close speed saves the day I gotta point out I think
that map play was a little bit more coordinated than maybe some of the
audience was expecting he's thinking does come off the backboard for a
challenge when you realize good doesn't have boost to make the challenge okay
cool tosses the backboard force you to make one and keep all state on their
toes or I guess the wheel wells I don't really know you want to call it
at this point the brims technically either way they're out of resources and
they are definitely without direction right now feels like every play is
completely disjointed outside of that one great passing play out center
the West Virginia for their first test of defense all game pass with flying colors.
And it's the firepower on the clock counter attack that you got to worry about.
What's he got to worry about, Thebes?
He's trying to get that perfect 50 to center the ball to his team.
This is really the point of the ball game for Ball State,
where they have to equalize Debo though.
That touch, Thebes takes it away and Ball State are on the problems again.

But they did pass with flying colors and it is that flying of the West Virginia team that I want to talk about
That's making this game so difficult for ball state because
is, Bask, which player would you least like to have with the ball in the air?

They all set a perfect 50-50s in the air.
We saw that double flip reset at the end from Devo.
They're all threatening.
And this is the problem.
This is that West Virginia, I think, half-figured out their attack in game number two.
It is, hey, Cosmic, you want to just go annoy the entire other team?

Continue to get demoed.
Just absolutely harass the team.
Whenever Matt and Divo do need to get involved,
it's free airspace, it's easy passes,
it's a great way to control the pace of the game
as well as the boost thrills here.
This resource battle is being won by West Virginia
and I don't think it's like, oh, we're seeing like,
you know, 60% of the boost West Virginia,
40% of all state, I think it's like 90-10 right now.
Ball state is just getting outclassed
when it comes to boost starvation
as well as also just resource management in general.
I can tell you, you mentioned the shots.
It's pretty even on demos.
And if you know about the new update in the game
You can change the scoreboard.
Instead of shots, you could look at crossbar hits
just to know how many times you're whiffing.
But I replace shots with demos.
And now I can't see shots.
So I'm going to rely on you for that one
as we get to game three.

I'd love to see Ball State with a quick response.

At least it gives us a tie ball game and some more interesting play.
Matt's trying to go for another pin. West Virginia, you can score from passing place. You don't have to pinch it on target.
Okay, but pitches are fun and they're the thing that cost the own goal for West Virginia in-game one, so it's a proven method.

See, here's the surprising part. Most of what just happened wouldn't count as a shot.
Only four registered shots in this game, that being one of them.
So it was really just Ball State hammering the backboard over and over again.
And as West Virginia expected the shots to go on targets,
and they do not.
Three and a half minutes to go in this game,
I have to imagine this is going to continue to turn
into a flurry of goals.
Because yet we got what?
Three goals, the first like two games,
and now we're here with three goals in a minute.
And that's the beauty of this e-sport.

and how they'll clash.
Though it's going to turn right on its head
for the next game, Ball State
were hacked in to their defensive path in the last couple of games.
And now it seems like they've broken through.
Good fate for Matt, or at least that's what I think just happened there.
Again, a lot of thinking going on, not a lot of actual analysis,
is I'm trying to read this game and failing to do so.

He's got a couple of fifties and maybe a boost steal.
I think that's what he's going for, and he will find it.
This is what West Virginia needs to do,
start starving Ball State again.
That's how they succeeded in game two.
It is definitely not something that's been a priority
here in game three.
Couple of interference plays.
Bump Steer is there, and more boost stealing is starting
to put West Virginia right on the back,
back on the right track.
But unfortunately with 70 seconds to go,
they got to hustle.
Keep in mind as well, I mean, we're getting that double header today from Ball State.
If they can win this game and the next, they'll have some serious momentum working into that second match.
But another stop passing plays like that.
Cosmic couldn't connect.
The follow for Devo will get lost from both.
Good second touch from Otto is going to force West Virginia to restart.
Low boost still for most of the players on Ball State are going to be a problem here.
But at least it gives them some time to grab something.
Maybe they needed a little more.
If that bump had found some contact, likely the equalizer.
But instead, we play on 30 seconds to go.
West Virginia, I said, now or never.
But now it's twice as much that.
Yes, West Virginia, you did get a gimme off the earlier goal.
But now it feels like you need to generate that final goal.

3-1, Ball State will clean up game number three, take the lead, and they are one away from upsetting West Virginia.
I'll tell you what, Ball State's defense has been the biggest thing for me in this matchup.
It felt like the whole theme was going to shift, right?
Ball State come out swinging, got West Virginia pushed back, but then we kind of get back to the norm of can Ball State stop them?
Can they stop Devo on these air dribbles in cosmic with these shots?
and it seems like, yeah, they absolutely can.
Thieves made some wonderful saves
and some demo evasion tactics to survive in our last.
Yeah, this is the best I've seen Paul State play so far
and I think that's a credit to them,
not necessarily a detriment to West Virginia's current play.
But again, we've talked about this.
This has been part of the reason that West Virginia,
while probably being in conversation
for one of the best teams in CRL,
haven't quite cemented themselves in that position.
The four players that they have on this roster,
any three of them can be great,
but they made a decision today
to not have Gyro on the roster
and instead bring in Matt.
So far, I'm not gonna say Matt's played poorly,
but he's been at the bottom of the scoreboard
for two games in a row now.
It's clear he's not as comfortable
maybe against this team and he really needs to.
It's the last chance here for West Virginia
and like I stated before,
is a team that is trying to get into conversation
for top four, losing to a ball state
who aren't even in like the top eight right now
would not be a good look.
Ball state definitely has that potential
to take that fourth spot though.
I mean, we talk about how top heavy the standings are.
It's kind of the top three that's looking top heavy,
especially if West Virginia could see this game.
We're on the Tokyo for game four match point
for Ball State's first match of the day.
You've seen a lot of dreams die on the Tokyo.
It is a very common ending round here
for many of these players and teams.
Would not be surprised to see it do the same here.
You know, trying to change that as it's a great first touch
and maybe even a great second touch.

Be contact on the ball at the same time just to see who is going to win over with that new impression
Pression certainly being made on the goal line, but ball staying doing more of what their accustomed to is getting it out
Cosmic, demoed for his troubles, that's not gonna feel great.
Vivo, maybe he can avoid the demo here, he can at least get it past the first defender,
but Oath actually, space for it to get back to himself somehow.
And maybe get even further than that, 50, not gonna be found off the backboard,
it's more ricochet back out of the feeds, and oh, feeds, that's not going to be enough
unless you just get a freebie shot the other way.
Y'all probably wasn't expecting that, I don't think anybody was expecting that touch.
The top of the ceiling touch can be a little awkward.
You don't want to bang it off the ceiling,
so it goes right back down,
but it's also hard to get a line drive.
So that touch up from Thebes
wasn't the worst play generation.
In fact, Thebes has had the best shot generation
for this team, setting up their teammates.
Oath is on the backboard, trying to get a bump.
Maybe a boost steal can't get either,
as he makes his way back.
And that trying to get around at least one
can't even do that.
However, to commit for a ball state,
so this could get a little awkward
back past the defo is perfectly to him and oath does get the read off the
backboard I wasn't expecting that I don't think Conn is was either he was
already midway through his challenge so it's gonna make it awkward and maybe
give an offense back to ball state as they send this off the backboard with
the third player does there to keep it contained there's themes lurking but
with low boost the good thing is it blinds its way back out to guff again
and somehow ball state the crystals we have for game one where they just
couldn't keep possession that is barely even a thought in my mind anymore
You know, that's a flip reset shot saved by Devo.
You're right, they are away from playing defense
all the time, however, it is their transition defense.
It scares me a little bit.
Cosmic keeps boosting up and getting ready to demo
the third player in the offensive rotation.
He has been a menace with those bumps and demos today.
West Virginia do have to keep,
or Ball State have to keep that in the back of their mind.
The good thing is though,
Ball State are keeping their third way back right now,
and it's very intentional.
They recognize that a lot of touches
West Virginia making on defense are extraordinarily heavy,
so the ricochet back out to midfield allows them to keep
that possession and keep calm through many of these attacks.
West Virginia starting to mount an attack here,
but I don't think it's gonna turn into much because
Cosmic, wait a minute, gotta pass out center
for multiple players back for Ball State,
so they will not flinch.
Follow-up shot, not gonna go on target,
nor will it even find its way to the second man.
And with another doinked-down field,
it is Ball State resetting the pitch yet again.
here for less Virginia to just be banging that ball off the backboard and
sometimes it's great to set up the follow-up shot but other times you want to
see the defense be tested you want to force players to use the boost and maybe
make a poor save and put it in position for yourselves that these shots just
have to start going on target for WVU. So far nothing's gone on target though
we got about a hundred seconds left in this game and as much as we've been
critical of WVU for their lack of ability to find offense here I'll
I'll say that I haven't converted on anything,
so they have to play defense like this for a full five minutes
and just wait for their opportunity.
It is something I would imagine WVU
are going to be comfortable with.

Finally, West Virginia might find something.
But wait a minute.
Oath catches this one and looks for the demo.
I'm not sure if that was the right play,
but it was definitely the coolest option.
And Oath has made the coolest plays so far today

I did not think it would take you maybe five seconds after the previous goal to get a goal and immediately get back into this game, but I guess that's, you know, trials and tribulations, a bunch of toil, keep on putting pressure, and eventually it'll work, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, all of those things.
15 seconds to go, though, West Virginia might just shut me up, and the game, though, if they can find one last attempt.
This one goes back out into the corner though, so Matt, long way to go with a decent amount of boots,

And it was about limiting and minimizing those mistakes
and forcing them out of WVU.
West Virginia, got to be looking at that one
and maybe thinking, rethinking, I should say.
They're starting pre-roster again, the, I don't know, 15th time throughout this semester.
Ball State, meanwhile, they have rethought their roster before the semester.
They bring in Phoebes, and, uh, yeah, I think Phoebes did fine there.
I'm just gonna make it very clear that, uh, I think he did a lot in that series as well as that game.
You can see, he clearly wasn't the offense for the team, but he definitely was the defense, and that's how they kept him there.
I kept talking about it. They would have a third man that was way far back because West Virginia were making these extraordinarily heavy touches.
There was feeds there to clean up the mistakes, be there in recovery,
and just make sure to keep possession in favor of Ball State.
Again, Ball State really did not look like they were going to lose that game at any point.
I'm just surprised that it took the final 30 seconds for them to put it all together.
Yeah, listen, it was about resiliency.
Again, they held off the pressure and then wanted against West Virginia.
And my problem with WVU now is, of course, that changing roster,
but also you need some kind of stability in that team to make sure those mistakes don't happen.
Those were quick overtime losses, which means the pressure really did build against them.
That first goal against them was that own goal off the pitch. It's just that stability really
required out of this roster, and it really shined through when it came to Ball State.
Good thing is I got good news for both teams. West Virginia, you're done for the day. You
don't have to keep fighting. You're good. You can take a break. You can go and analyze
that last game and figure out what went wrong. For Ball State, ride the momentum. When we

Hello everyone, welcome back to CRL League play during the fall season.
It is week three and I have Oath with me from Ball State.
Ball State now going up to four in three in their league play standings.
Oath, tell me, how do you feel after that series, especially with the last minute
change up of Matt coming in for Jiro?
Yeah, I mean, I think we knew West Virginia is always kind of a tough draw for us. Or at least it's always very close series
You know, we very competitive
But in terms like a last-minute switch up with their roster
We kind of consider them as like a four-man roster like they have four players
That are capable of playing at the highest level of serial. So it doesn't really matter just
Which one of them plays it's more on our end. Just making sure we're prepared for whatever comes
that's really good to hear. Yeah, a lot of the rosters this season, of course, have been a little bit more than just the three original starters. So that's something to always consider in the game plan. Now you're about, I would say, almost a little more than halfway through your league play. You're sitting at four and three. Of course, you have Northwood and Concord at top, currently undefeated. How do you feel your chances are in making that cut line of the top four so you don't have to go to the top four.
go into those open last chance quals?
Yeah.
I think we like our chances.
We've already played.
I can't remember who played Concord yet,
but I know we played Northwood, and we lost to them.
Obviously, they're a great team.
But I think the rest of our schedule,
there's a lot of winnable matches, close matches,
but things that we'll go into it with confidence.
And I think we'll talk.
Yeah, how does it feel having the opportunity now
to be in that top four?
You guys are most notable for always making kind of a lower bracket run.
I mean, you've been on this roster a little while now.
How good would it feel to make the upper echelon of the bracket not have to deal with those last second heroics?
I mean, it would be pretty incredible not to have the pressure going through lowers.
But, you know, whatever happens, we'll just show up on the day we play, you know,
just show up and bring our best to the matches we play and just try to give our best.

I got to give props to Paul State, it was a bit of a defensive show across the board
despite the fact that you can argue that West Virginia was a better aerial team.
And let me start with you, Pyro J. Thoughts about the series you just saw.
I mean, they kicked off with those aerial antics from West Virginia.
Devo, Madden, especially Cosmic, looked very threatening in that position.
But all state really just didn't budge.
Their defense, very formidable, effective on the counterattack.
And at the end of the day, their shot precision was much better as well.
They limited mistakes.
They did all the right things whereas West Virginia had too many slip-ups.
Past the gyro factor wasn't really much of a factor at all. Just like the matter factor.
We had the Ross switch. We had it changed. We saw a little bit of a different formation,
especially on the offensive makeup, but in the day West Virginia couldn't get it done offensively.
West Virginia are still having problems man. There's no other real way to put it at this
point. I don't really care which four they use at this point. Any four of them
should be talented enough to take wins throughout this league. They have not done that.
I don't think there's a way to sugarcoat it at this point.
We are halfway through the season and at this point,
they need to have figured this out.
The fact that they have not does not bode well
for their chances to make playoffs.
I love that word bode well and hopefully
wasn't going to take the time to lift your wounds
and watch that vlog next week.
But Ball State has to move on to their next contest
which is actually happening right now.
Ball State is pulling double duty this time
against Ole Miss and while these two teams have
a little bit of a chemistry,
But I have to give a shout out to Ole Miss, right?
Despite their season not going the way they are,
they're very game and they really want to show off.
Take a look at the rosters.
Leeds coming out, Totem up, competing second to go.
Take it on Barris, Stealth and TMS.
Chicks, I want to start with you.
First thing that comes to your mind
when you see these two is the Chamber.
Oh my goodness.
This is a make or break series.
That's what I'm really thinking right now.
I'm obviously just now having an interview
with Oath, Ball State, going up to four and three.
Like I really feel like you can't have more than three losses to make the top four at the end of the day.
So it's going to be tough if you drop any more games.
I don't know if it's possible to make the top four things.
Things will have to happen.
Ole Miss is sitting at two and five.
So for them, is it even possible for them to be in the top four?
I'm sure there's there's some number of chance for them to do it, but for Ball State,
I think more is on the line for them right now.
Hey, let's see the playoff plans.
You know, to get ready to do the battle
just a few seconds fast.
I want to go back to you for a second.
Oh, Miz, we said, didn't have the season they want.
But if you're ball state, you're coming off a win
against an arguably stronger team, if not on paper,
do you try to change something up in strategy?
Do you take it opponent by opponent,
or do you just ride the wave
because your last match was on stream?
I think you just ride the wave for a least for now.
There's no use in trying to theorize
about like what you could be changing
considering the caliber of the team or the play style or whatever you just go
with what's comfortable and I think that's the big thing for ball state we
talked about a handful of years ago when they had the most suppressive offense in
all of CRL that was a huge thing you talked to coaches on let's say Northwood
or on Akron and they'd be like yeah we don't know how to play ball state because
they just absolutely overwhelmed steel boost and just harassed the entire time
the game plan seems to be pretty similar to that man it's just pressure
pressure pressure pressure pressure if it works against Ole Miss great if it
doesn't no need to necessarily shake everything up we're getting wins over
West Virginia, that's pretty solid in my mind.
You know, Pyro, I'm gonna assume
you've lost the Rocket League match one time.
I know I probably got that wrong,
but if you're a squad like Ole Miss, man,
you have all the ideas, you have all the intention,
you have all the scrims and all the time playing,
and it just hasn't gone your way
when it comes to win, loss,
and more important, game differential.
What do you do to find a way to get back to ADV?
Well, first of all, I definitely never lose
when I'm in Grand Champion 1
and spend more time in Champion 3,
so that's not the case at all.
but secondly, secondly Ole Miss,
I mean, I don't think losses are something
you reflect on as a bad thing,
that's just things that you can learn from
and bring into the next game.
Ole Miss is a really fun team to watch.
You've got the stealthy Italians, right?
Barrist has this experience from across the pond
and now in NA, stealth has been with Ole Miss
for a while, you're not to see him with Lunar,
but I have TMS who in my mind is one
of the most like mechanically clean players
that's going to be on this field.
The musty flip, flip, reset, air dribbles,
it's all very precise.
And the thing about Ball State is
they played a lot of defense
and they kind of got off the hook with West Virginia,
not hitting their shots.
I don't expect that from TMS.
I expect them to be hitting those shots
and pressuring Ball State in a different way.

I like the fact that you're trying to think

You look at the last three series,
they beat Indian attack, but it was a 0-3 against Winthrop
and a 1-3 against Maryville.
Something is not only working,
especially on an exchange on the offensive attack.
I gotta say, if I'm Ole Miss,
I gotta come up with plan Z, AA?
Like, what would you do in that situation?
Sometimes it is about matchups.
Some teams will have you no matter what.
And I really think this is a matchup game.
This is where Ole Miss can take advantage
of all state spending so much time on defense
and truly breaking through in a way that West Virginia didn't.
And let's be real here as well.
Ball State have had their losses as well.
I don't think they're lamenting on those.
Instead, they're going to ride the wave.
Ole Miss, the Land Sharks have to create their own wave.
But hey, they're used to the water.
They can do that.
Yeah, and Chickson, I just met him ago.
You had a chance to peek inside the locker room
of Ball State and see what their mental is.
It seems very much like a cool, calm confidence.
even their roster has had changes over the semester.
It does seem that kind of like aesthetic is permitting through.
You look at all said, you look at the potential.
They're still very much in the fight of this.
I mean, what's your thought about how they approach
the series coming forward?

I mean, I think I'll have been together so many seasons now.
And I think at this point with them being together
and having that chemistry and Bebes,
we questioned a ton when he came in,
when would be the point where he truly gained that chemistry
and he's finally gained that chemistry,
I think with both of them.
And that's why they are truly so full-com and collected.
They're looking always towards the future
to be towards that top echelon at this point.
They don't wanna be the team known for lower bracket runs
and last chance qualifiers and everything.
They wanna be a team at the top of the echelon
and that confidence kind of oozes through in that regard.
As we get to both teams ready to go and have their
best of five, but just a second,
let me look at this idea, Vast,
that we even think about CRL especially
because of what the mechanics you need
to really be on those upper echelon teams.
Is it really a game of three?
Is team Chem how they win the day?
Is it really about the one-two combination
like an old thinker?
Or is it about individuals finding spaces
and where spaces are not there?
How do you approach it?
you're thinking about trying to be among the conversation of good CRL teams.
You have to make sure that every single player is playing at their top level,
or at least being consistent.
I think that's a big thing we've talked about a lot lately,
is that long on are the days of one player makes a CRL team good,
and that they're going to make an elite play, go for it, and lean, all that stuff.
It's about having three players that can perform at the highest level,
and also just not make mistakes.
And I hate to say it, but there's the clear third for Ole Miss
that we're kind of all looking at for that.
Barres can keep up with the lobby.
Ole Miss have a great chance here.
If he cannot, it is going to be a
struggle some game for the entire team.
So I'm curious to see what we see here
because I think that conversation could have been
around Feebs prior to the last series we saw
of how well does the rookie keep up.
I think he's keeping up just fine.
I think the conversation still can be on Feebs
because when N'Vant is asking
like what mechanics are going to bring them forward,
I agree, it's not on the conversation can Feebs keep up.
It's more so what can they do
with Thebes playmaking ability.
To me, it's all about space creation.
I'm looking at Thebes on Ball State
and I'm looking at TMS on Ole Miss.
They are the ones that are gonna bring the mechanics
in the smart 50-50s to get the ball
into shot-taking territory.
Yeah, how do you create space?
The team that basically locks down like a tank
right in front of their net all the time.
That's a question I have watching that last series.
You know, every series is different.
Some guys get a couple of tips that she's walked
and have a whole different mentality.
But I really feel like if Ball State were to win this next series,
it has to be something different.
And the thing is, will we send something different?
Let's get right into predictions.

May after watching Ball State take it over West Virginia,
you'd be crazy to not predict for Ball State.
And I'm crazy.
Give me Ole Miss.
I think they have what it takes to surprise Ball State
today and actually get that shot precision down at West Virginia
than that. Let's go. Chica, what do you got? You know, I know
Oh said, don't vote for him. It puts on less pressure, but I'm
sorry. Oh, if you guys look too good, I'm going with ball
state. I really enjoyed how they played last game. I mean,
what better than to go into a second series after winning
your first? You can't be more confident than that.

Well, here's the issue you're not gonna like my reasoning here because I am taking ball state here
And not only am I taking ball state, but it's actually for a very specific reason that pyro was talking about just a couple of seconds ago
Almost are a brand new team and when the biggest issues we have had with that team is the third man going I got time right?

No, no you cannot. Not against a team like Ball State that can counterattack in two seconds and take advantage of every open net.
For a team that has lacked composure throughout the season, that's been their biggest problem.
I think it's going to be a huge problem against a team like this that takes full advantage of moments like that.
You're absolutely right for the third man. I mean, old heads would know the phrase Leverang Jenkins.
That's the closest thing we got to that in Rocket League.
And it must be something that changed the win for me because I do think Ball State has the edge here.
Here I get Ole Miss has the foundation.
You don't get to see our league play without a foundation.
Right now it really hasn't been their series.
But look, we can predict all we want.
It comes down to the actual gameplay on the pitch.
Both teams are ready to go.
So let's get ourselves right into it.
Ball state pulling double duty is taken on Ole Miss.
What do you do when you put two wildcars in a blender?

Ole Miss just trying to survive the waves.
Ball State are on an upward swing right now.

at this point.
It's been an up and down season for Ole Miss,
but if they want to write the ship, now is the time.
Second series of the day here on CRL Sunday,
let's get into it.
You know, at this point, I think every team's fighting
just to have the little bit of confidence
at the end of the season.
If there's one thing to have a bad beginning of season,
yes, will it affect your chances of qualifying?
But you always have that last chance,
and I'd rather go at swinging at the end of my season
going into those playoffs.
Yeah, it's the big thing.
It's keeping momentum in the right time, right place,
moment here and like we said this is the moment for Ole Miss who's a team that
already got in the lean play through and unexpected way I was even talking to
Warhead the director for Ole Miss and I was talking directly like hey man I
think you guys good I think it's gonna be next semester you need like one more
piece and you're gonna figure it out 15 minutes later they qualified for
CRL so I don't know ball but apparently Ole Miss does it's been an
impressive bout so far for them they still got a long way to go but like
we said I mean hey if you can do it against Ball State you can do it
against anyone. Yeah, Paul
said it's certainly proven to be
now at least in the top half of
Sierra and that is still an
incredible amount of victory for
them to be in. But now they have
to have that same victory on the
field. Yet again, they've been
trying against Ole Miss having a
couple of pot shot opportunities
just one actually on the scoreboard.
But yet they still haven't been
able to find a good quality shot.
Ole Miss has been able to now
get out of their backfield.
They're doing something so far here.
Pretty uneventful first minute and a half.
It just kind of feels like long balls down
either end of the pitch.
That's another one of those.
It actually funds play out to the corner where
Feebs will look for a follow-up touch.
TMS is going to stay very patient instead for this one
in Oath.
Stay around the ball as well.
Ole Miss taking, I think, more time
than Ball State is even expecting at this point.
Ball State are expecting the same sort of pace of play
that they just had against West Virginia.
And Ole Miss like, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah,
break down the pace.
Let's take a second here and breathe.
Stealth in that dominant is still such a rare scene.
When you're so used to fending an octane,
we'll see if that ends up impacting anything.
But Ball State still trying to break the Ole Miss
barrier of defense.
But you're right, the pace of gameplay
has significantly slowed down in this one.
It seems like everyone can predict
what's going to happen before a touch is made.
No one wants to take any risks.
Oh, really, I know if that's the advantage or disadvantage,
or really anything, either team right now.
It's definitely a point of uncomfortability for Ball State,
because I think they're just not used to it in comparison to the last series,
but it doesn't really develop much on either end.
Redirect here might just be enough, though, passing play-out centers.
Delft just tries to send it on target, can't quite.
TMS, that's not going to be enough either.
He's got no boost, and the back-pass to Baris
is going to have to force them to restart.
Shot on target and go.
Take it away. Great first touch, second, and potentially third.
And maybe a pass out to Oath.
That gets denied by TMS.
Thebes dropped down back to Oath again.
Shot off target.
But at least forces a save out of TMS and light double commit
out of everyone on Ole Miss.
And that's going to be a goal.
All right. Well, the confusion finally ends here.
All it takes is one bad play in the corner
and Ole Miss gets exposed.
Yeah, you mentioned earlier how much ball state can occupy
that midfield.
And that's exactly where Oath is sitting.
He's sitting directly in Menfield, directly center, waiting for that pass.
And as soon as it came out to him, he puts a perfect shot on target
with an Ole Miss team that is low on boost, defensively speaking.
Great opportunity by Balls.
State, it only took a little bit of time.
Pifty there, another shot deflected, and Oath tapped this one on in,
and still it's going in and out.
I find myself without many compliments for Ole Miss throughout this game.
First one I will give is, wow, I can't believe the defense.
At least they're standing up when the times require it.
They haven't had many times that have required that.
However, they can't prove it on the other end.
We talked about a slow start, maybe slow pace of play.
Nothing slow about this could dive across the net for TMS.
Yeah, what a perfect cut by TMS.
He came out of nowhere.
I actually thought he was rotating out,
but he instead makes the call, gets the pass,
puts on a shot that no one was expecting,
and now we find ourselves in a tied game.
Find ball game?
Ah!
Maybe not for long.

Oath would turn it away.
A couple of demos, though, could open some extra space
and feed the thieves on low boost.
He's going to send it to TMS, who, yeah,
I don't think that was the way that he drew up
that follow-up touch there.
It might still work out for Ole Miss
as they do have an opportunity for a shot.
Not going to be enough.
Back out of the center, and TMS, the one to receive.
Right first touch, can he find another?
Yes, he can, and a pass out center,
but stealth not the receipt of the recipient of it,
instead it's gone away and Oath is sent it back out

It doesn't exactly work out,
but the good thing is Oath's on the side
while we can keep it contained.
And then let a free shot go the other way.

maybe they're starting to look a little uncomfortable here.
It feels like the pace of play has gotten back
to something they're used to,
but the comfortability is not returned.
Yeah, I don't like how they're clearing often low
on boost and kind of just giving this ball away.
There's one thing to clear the ball, to give space,
but there's also another way that you need to outlet that pass
and actually put it in clear space.

Um, what a shot.
That's one way to put it.
The other way to put it is, unfortunately,
that is the worst goal all season.
Just gonna state it, just straight up.
That should have been a save from TMS
and he knows it, close one shot and quick shot here
Yes, we play on unfortunate for Ole Miss. They were finally starting to find their footing in this game and there it all goes
Yeah, and that will really kill the confidence of in that stands tall there
Phenomenal clear as we are under 15 seconds one more opportunity stealth here all the pre-jump and Ferris
Couldn't get a touch either on the follow-up five seconds left and it just seems like that one opportunity that one mistake
kind of told

That was the ball of state.
It's the expected result here in game one.
The way we got here, anything but that.
To be honest, I'm kind of still kind of waking up at this point.
I feel like I'm in a fever dream and that shouldn't be real, but it is.
And I think the most surprising part is not only is it a bit of a sloppy gold give-up,
CMS who does it, by far the best player on Ole Miss by pretty much every metric
and standard at this point.
And he's the one who ends up making mistakes.
So we talked about this composure is the big issue for Ole Miss.
It's not like they have an issue with composure per se, but they're a new team to this space.
They are a new team to league play here versus Ball State, who have been here time and time
again.
So for TMS, the new player on the roster to look a little shaky, I'm going to state
that doesn't bode well for the team as a whole.
Yeah, composure and consistency especially.
As you can tell, there was a lot of ebbs and flows.
We talked about the speed of the pace of game play, how we want to react and
just get redirection, get and receive some passes.
So everyone was kind of finding their comfortability,
but really never got truly comfortable.
I think both teams, after seeing each other,
need to understand what type of series this is gonna be.
Obviously it's very different from the WVU game we just saw.
So Ball State making adjustments
does take that first game Ole Miss.
Need to not make mistakes.
Honestly, I still think it could have been our game
I think Justin only makes simply one mistake.
That's the thing that sucks is that it's like,
hey, we wanna like poke and prod and be like,
well, you did this wrong,
there's not a lot of things they did wrong.
I think the pace of play was a little awkward
for them initially in the game,
but outside of that, they played pretty well.
So the truth is, it's really just one bad mistake
at the wrong time and that ends up costing them.
Hopefully they don't do the same thing
here on Forbidden Temple,
otherwise it's reverse sweep territory for the newcomers.
Cah, trying to make sure that's the case.
And my goodness, does he start game two
with a worldie!
Oh, that's such a spicy shot after the pass from Oat
as well to collect, get the flip reset.
Wall in midair is insane control.
Beautiful opportunity for Ball State.
And that's the statement piece that I think
they've been waiting to truly make.

tsunami why is this game so slow this fast enough for you is this fast enough
for you two goals in 20 seconds both of them bangers from ball state the
Cardinals have finally woken up oh my goodness all this challenge club ball
this is the big leagues my guys you have to challenge it unfortunately for
them ball state gets to very nice goals to start this one but fortunately for
ball state. I mean what an exclamation point to make. I mean I'm loving it. I'm
hoping everyone else is loving it because I definitely want to see more shots like
that as the series moves on especially out of ball state looking to cement
themselves in that top four. They are locked in right now and unfortunate for
Ole Miss this is the problem with letting a team with this much experience
wake up. You can get them in an uncomfortable moment in game one while
they're trying to adjust between the two different play styles of each
series they played in. Once you let them get going though, once you get some confidence,
this is the problem. Three hyper-mechanical players who all know how to stunt in the right
moments and the moment has barely been a moment at that. Only a minute into this game and
so far it's been entirely ball-stating control.
Great midfield control again. Finally getting bumped out. Stealth to the air. I don't
think I got a flip recent there but does win that 50 with the Dominus.
Alright, it's a little awkward here. I mean the bump out of midfield was definitely
want to do something, but I think Gudge just kind of gets caught in the long
place, wrong time. He's facing backwards, his own net tries to go for an early
challenge, loses the 50 entirely, and finally Ole Miss can put a stop to
Ball State's momentum. We still have a lot of this game left here, so at least
getting one goal to keep them within territory of Ball State is a huge
improvement.
Over to Gagaha's space, and Stealth just barely poking in away.
Thieves has to play time here, and he does that, TMS, no boost, well done by Gawd, just
to move it forward, and Ole Miss though still on the attack in front.
Gawd, pass out, Oath is there, but so is TMS, and he's actually going to receive his
own playoff.
The ceiling, or at least attempt to.
Thieves in the way, another bump though is going to cause some problems, and maybe
that's how we're going to see, never mind, Ole Miss give up another goal.
He's going to say, maybe that's the way back, Gawd is through physicality, um,
However, this is exactly what I talked about pregame.
You over commit for one second.
This is what Ball State can do.
Oh my goodness.
I'm just impressed with the ability to rotate out
and get the outlet pass, get the doigt,
see the vision, have the open opportunity for Ball State.
They're taking every opportunity they possibly
can at the end of the day.
Here's another opportunity.
Thebes to himself on the side wall.
And he got a free jumping TMS.
and he realized that with TMS going up early, it actually opened some space in the corner
for him to maneuver a little bit more.
TMS, if you back to himself, no he cannot.
No boost in the tank means no follow up touch, and stealth doesn't have any boost either,
which is why God makes an immediate challenge.
When we play with some boost as Boris, and what can you do with it?
I mean, that's kind of nice, it's just not gonna be enough,
especially as Oath is able to send it out midfield and Ball State back in the driver's seat again
with maybe one more attempt, TMS, to take it away.
But Ole Miss again, as much as they have figured out some things in this game, it is very still clearly ball-stating control.
With time, is Barris gets the beat first over Gov and no teammates
for him to follow up on the play.
Feeves a good 50, so that's open space for Barris to send it up.
Is there a team in again? Stealth is up towards the back.
Well, does get the double punch and manages to point that in from the post.
Okay, alright Ole Miss, I see you one moment of weakness here.
Somebody needs to go up for this early.
Gummis is it off the backboard and I mean, it's an awkward shot, but at the end of the day,
Barist was there as the second man, there was at least going to be a follow-up
and I don't think any of the follow-up plays prior to that were expected from Ball State.
Awkwardness finally works out here for Ole Miss, but they need to happen again.
Just underneath two minutes to play here, there is plenty of time,
but so far the goals Ole Miss have found have been off of mistakes from Ball State,
something you can't necessarily rely on.
KMS, great catch, which is not the greatest follow-up on the air dribble.
Stealth will be there again, who's had the hot hand so far this game.
Tries for the flip, Risa does get stuffed by thieves, and this one sent back out.
Got again on the clear binding space for Ball State.
And how can you, this one in midfield, and no touch to be found?
Both?
Waiting on this one in a phenomenal touch for, because Stealth was waiting to receive that pass.
Heaps was looking for the demo on TMS. They keep recognizing that it would have been a huge opening and breakaway if he had succeeded,
but instead the physicality doesn't work out and, oh miss, gotta be careful here.
That's a light touch from Boris leaving it within territory for a shot.
Not nobody finds it and Stealth can at least dump this one back out to mid.
Goes back in the corner again. Those teams with some heavy touches here,
neither one of them wants to make a mistake and the game that's been lit in with them, it's gonna be a problem.
problem. However, that might be a mistake, especially considering TMS has
have a lot of boost here. If God can read this off the backboard, it is not a goal.
Somehow Ole Miss get back. This is still looking like Ball State's game in terms
of control, in terms of seconds taken away. 30 to play, Ole Miss have had their
opportunities, but they need just one more to send it to at least an overtime.
They also need to desperately get out of their half. It seems like Ball State
It has lived on this arm's side of the field the entire game, especially in the last two
minutes.
And if they can't get out of their half, they're going to have an impossible time trying to
tie this one up.
Finally, they move on to the next ball.
The fake almost catches Ball State off guard, but it seems like this ball is now in the
reverse direction, feeds another clear out.
Can they keep this ball up is the question.
They'll still stay up for Ole Miss, touches the ground finally and Ball State sneak away with this one.
They get away with one. That play was still their game to win.
I think they played the better of the two, but you can really tell this was Ole Miss
batting down the hatches and just not giving up any freebies for the most part here.
First two goals are earned pretty quickly. The third one definitely earned from Ball State,
But it also required how many shots this one to 14
Total shots from ball state to find those three goals nine saves for Ole Miss prove
They are definitely getting better in this series
But the problem is is you can't get better halfway through the series
You need already be at that level because it's a reverse sweep now required for Ole Miss to win this
I mean huge shots to go to six of those 13 shots and clearly
finding success, whether it's passing to his teammate or just solo playing and
outplaying all by himself. He's what facilitated the rest of that offensive
pressure, kind of got things going. Obviously, all smiles for him as well.
So I think they're doing a wonderful job upfield and being creative and being
mech-y and that's catching Ole Miss off guard. Yeah, I think Ole Miss, again,
it's just a level of comfortability that they do not have here right now,
which is a big problem for them. I'm not gonna say that it's being, you
You know, end of the world necessarily, but it's very clear that that lack of comfortability
is bleeding into a handful of plays.
An over-commitment there, a double-commitment here.
It just feels uncomfortable in moments that they cannot afford to be uncomfortable.
You need to come in a series like this with full confidence and the belief that you can
win.
This is something we've talked about a lot here on CRL, but considering how close the
margins are for every team, you need to come in with that true belief in yourself
and your teammates that you can win this series no matter the matchup.
And right now Ole Miss still feels like they're playing scared.
They're aware of how good Ball State is. They're aware of Ball State just getting a win over WVU.
And as a result, they need to kind of just ignore all of that.
Memory of a goldfish is required in a moment like this.
Hmm. I love that call out.
Goldfish memory.
This is reverse sweep territory for Ole Miss.
They just need to lock it down.
It's all been the little things and that's really what distinguishes the upper echelon of CRL
to those that are getting comfortable and into it.
Can they manage to take a game off?
Which we mentioned, gold differential even means everything in determining that top four.
There's a lot on the line in this game for both of these rosters.
We'll see who gets first blood, it will not be Ole Miss just yet.
Yeah, you talked about game differential being a huge thing.
It was living a tiebreaker last semester for who made it into playoff.
So, in series like this, it matters every single moment.
And Boris recognized that.
That's why we're getting the third game started off with an Ole Miss lead.
Yeah, it was a great job by Ole Miss to just keep on attacking in the first 30 seconds of that game.
If you caught on the right side of your screen,
Beep sat at that 100 boost, he knew it was coming up soon,
but quickly left it just before it spawned and had no boost to make that save.
It's a very vital to maintain that boost control.
We'll see if Barris has control here, does have a team in and TMS to send that off.
That was a little awkward for a second. Good thing is Barris at least had his flick off the backboard,
so despite the low boost, he doesn't get a touch in the way and his teammates are there to back him up.
First minute or so, here looks like an improvement already for Ole Miss, and they give up a goal across.
Core never mind, it's all a torn get. They are lucky. I feel like that's the third or fourth they would have given up
with just overcommitments and an open net.
Look how it's got in midfield.
So it's still there looking for a play.
Can only get past one.
Everybody on Ole Miss on that back line, on the back wall.
If he still gets put out, I mean,
it's so impossible for Ole Miss to cross the midfield line.
It just seems like Ball State always finds a way
to stay on the offensive half.
If they do get over it, definitely contest it.
It's at least having to use up a ton of their booze,
a bunch of the resources, multiple players going for the ball at once.
It just kind of feels like Ole Miss or just, again, still uncomfortable.
Even if they are finding success, it doesn't necessarily mean the
uncomfortability has dissipated.
Another great example I saw, remember what I talked about?
Stop leaving the open nets. Stop leaving the open nets.
It's so easy to become overextended and you see TMS is just too close to
Barus and then in terms of stealth is also on that side wall.
Their spacing was all towards one side of the field and bunched up,
and then you leave the counter-attack potential open,
and Balsay has taken advantage of it all day today.
Same thing against WVU.
They keep on finding those great counter-attacks.
Demiro here, and still finds it opening.
I kind of was wishing that Goh had actually turned that
into a perfect inch draw score,
because at that point I would have to eat my own words
and be like, yeah, it's not that you left in it open,
it's just what are you supposed to do against that.
To be fair, I do think that Ole Miss
are starting to feel the pressure of the exact moment.
You can build up good plays.
You can play probably about four and a half minutes
of just perfect play in a game like this,
but if you slip up for a second,
this is the level of which teams are going to punish you.
Ball State have done this to many different teams
throughout their tenure here in CRL,
and it's not surprising to see
only this another victim of it.
The good thing is they've only given up
one so far in this game.
It was only about halfway through it.
There's still plenty of time for a response,
especially with TMS with a full tank,
and have everyone leave my words,
open the way and again ball stages
support another offense.
Back to it Bears, Nobooska has some
feeds over to go.
Thinking this one up has Oath in midfield
does drop it down to him a little poke up
but still is there keeps it close
and wins that 50.
Oath on the cut keeps it in midfield
stealth hurting.
Does it have a teammate and again the 50s
comes through great challenges by
Ball State feeds with a miss. Oath to take over. A bump comes through. Can he follow through?
It seems like Stealth again on that back wall manages to send it away.
Holy heavy touch from Stealth and TMS is not aware of that as Oath is able to get to the ball first.
Probably gets one back out center. TMS on the backboard will recover.
Let more pressure here from Ball State. Maybe there'll be a follow-up there,
but I guess the demo was worth enough time to just kind of take this one slowly.
This one, back at midfield, neither Gun nor Oak will go for it.
Gah, eventually will go up and Oak will stay on the back for it.
TMS couldn't be there for the follow-up with low boost, so we'll miss, forced into their half again.
This one, off the backboard, goes to TMS.
Knight first touch means he can keep it close, he's gonna look for a pinch, but the pinch just goes to Gah.
Gah, not gonna find his own touch, or maybe he will!
A little bit of trickery on the side-balls there, I don't think either team is really expecting it,
but maybe that's the advantage of Ball State, because with a minute to go here, they are mounting yet another offense.

It's going to continue. Yeah, I think overall a great job of adjusting for Ole Miss. They kind
of understood at this point what Ball State brings to the table, how they're going to attack,
who has the hot hand, which it's been Gus still. And then at the end of the day,
finding their own counter-attacks. They're still doing so good all in the saves. This time seven
shots for Ball State. Six saves by Ole Miss. The one that isn't it is the one that goes on in.
Ole Miss has just been better on that defensive line. Yeah, they absolutely have and I think
that's also due in part to the fact that they have played a majority defense throughout this
series. They've been forced into their own half at many different points. So you have to imagine
they're a little more prepared for a bit of a back and forth type of game whereas Ball
All state are probably used to the smothering attitude that they've had throughout the entire
time.
There's constant pressure, constant offense, constant midfield challenges, and now that's
not working as much anymore.
So they have to try to go back to the drawing board, which is why I stated coming into this
series, you can't necessarily try to make the adjustments immediately.
You need to see what works and works at least enough for two games.
Now here in game four, this is where Coach BK is going to have to get in their
ears and start to make some changes.
And I'm not surprised if they were able to adapt quickly.
BK has been with this roster for, I think, like four years now at this point.
So you have to imagine that's prepared as we move into Neo-Tokyo.
Yeah, it'll be an adjustment for Ball State again.
They've always been close all game of the Ole Miss.
Really this was a 2-1 game other than they were trying to get a last second opportunity
to tie it up.
So this has been a very close series throughout.
It's still coming down to mistakes and individual efforts.
If Ball State can keep having individual efforts that end up working out, then we're
getting that.

show themselves as not just a quality team, but one that could sneak in a
playoffs if they play this right. Really impressive stuff from Ball State in
back to back series today. They deserve these two wins. Yeah, back to back can
be either I would say it seems biggest downfall or a biggest victory
depending on how they're feeling in the day and how they're due on
stream. But Ball State immediately take a very good winning against WVU
today and then they manage a very different series against Ole Miss
And they still managed to be on top, I think, ultimately still because of that individual effort.

years and it's your fourth season with God and oath. So really curious bringing on Phoebes.
How has the game plan sort of molded? Has it been more so about Phoebes fitting in
with what you're used to with gun oath or has Phoebes really kind of reshaped
what this team looks like.
I think it's been super impressive,
but I'll be honest with the duo of Othin Gah.
I think you could put almost any third there
and they would be.
I think you're some of the most underrated players in CRL.
So I'm not shocked at the result.
I think it just took a little bit of time.
I just think Othin Gah maybe don't have those,
the name recognition as much as getting there
by playing, you know, it's becoming a bigger streamer.
But with feeds, he's listened, you know,
this season was,
I think spring season was a learning season,
and it was kind of an acceleration with NACE and the CRL
running at the end, and now, I think,
can follow your turn to see some results.
But it's just getting back on the path,
and it took a little bit of time going forward.
Well, I see Ghana's top 100 leaderboards, too.
So he's the name I recognize, that's for sure.
Listen, when you talk about these players kind of being
underrated, they really do shine in some great ways.
Gah had those reset double taps up the ceiling.
Both has had some monster counter attack redirects.
You guys are lightning fast on the counter attack.
You look great on defense.
Feebs is really a playmaker.
To you, what is all state's greatest asset?
Like when push comes to shove,
what do you think the best tactic out of all state
right now is so you've gotten all these wins in league play?
I think we can make something out of nothing.
I mean, I think the West Virginia series,
I think one or two of those games,
they probably had double the shots,
but our transition out of defense is phenomenal.
Our comms are always calm and cool collected.
And I'm never really worried even with zero boost,
even with somebody who's got, I mean,
got primarily the place more of a third man,
but you can make some of the craziest offensive plays for us.
So I think, you know, just trusting in what goes,
looking downfield, letting oath and feeds
just cause complete havoc and then relying
on some mechanical genius and those guys.
I see those wall dashes on zero boost.
They know how to keep the speed,
even if it's in that circumstance.
Finally, we always like to look forward.
We know now, of course, if you didn't already know, folks,
Ball State ceiling, it is high,
but I want to know how high you've got Baylor
and Maryville still on your schedule for later on.
Either one of those matches that you're really looking at
when it comes to pushing into that top four spot.
I think Maryville is a good benchmark.
I think there's what if I maybe is number three right now
behind Concord Northwood.
We've already played those schools,
so unfortunately we went 0-2,
but the series were somewhat close.
Those are fantastic teams.
With Baylor, statistically, we've honestly had a really good record against them.
I think we're three and one versus them, including on land.
So we feel confident going into that matchup, but Baylor's playing extremely well this season.
So they look like they're very motivated this year compared to the spring.
Even though they still play great this spring, but Fully looked really good.
And Maryville, you know, that's kind of the benchmark.
So we're trying to get that top four.

I got a lot of insight about that last series.

BK had said, oh, thank God.
most underrated duo in all CLL. Is that true? And if so, why is that the case you think?
I don't disagree. I mean, it's pretty hard to disagree considering this team's been around
for forever. And I feel like they don't get their flowers as much as they probably should.
Now granted, part of the reason why is that it feels like every year we've got questions for
the third of Ball State. This might be the first year I don't necessarily have a ton of
questions. Beef looks good, man. And again, being a freshman and coming in and doing this,
very impressive. Yeah, you know, Fyro, you had a chance to really follow up when it was like,
hey man, Peebs is great. I'm glad he's working in there, but the other two are so strong,
our third can slot in. I feel like when you have a one-two punch that's so good with chemistry,
a third really has to work to not get in the other two players way.
Yeah, and that's really what I wanted to drill down on, like were they more welcoming of what
Peebs could do with the team and reshape it, or is it really just you have this figured
out four seasons now in their fourth season with God and oh if you might as well just get that mold
and see what works and you really there really is no reason to change what they do because it is
what DK said that they do best make something out of nothing they did that today. You know what
not to take anything away from Ole Miss they had some flashes of brilliance there checks out what
really went wrong for them today we just just caught in the crosshairs of a team's strongest
ball state, or is there something fundamental that can work on moving forward?
I mean, ultimately, they made a lot of mistakes in this one.
We mentioned right during game one, there was a field backflip moment, and that goal
went in, and that was pretty much the game, you know, and those moments can decide how
our series goes.
I also think, as well as they did defensively, they just were not getting shots today.
Each and every game it seemed like ball state had three to four times the amount
of shots that the likes of will missed it. And if you're not getting a field and
you're not finding opportunities to score, then you just won't score. And
that's how it is at the end of the day. You can't just purely play off of the
chance of going and rebounding and making those other sorts of counter
attack plays. That is like Ali inspirational, right? Sometimes you're just
gonna go for it, you know, make your own offense. But speaking of
congratulations to Ball State and their offense going two and O playing
double duty, but our next matchup is going to be something interesting too, because one
of the teams is pulling double duty as well. It's Concord taking on Cumberland and the story
of Concord has just been goals upon goals upon goals. I mean, the game has been their oyster
six no going into this one with a plus double digit game. Take a look at the lineup there
of Concord, Chris, me, Rosie and some last take it on the couple entry of Cosy
night and Polo if you saw earlier on this stream this season.
Kyle I'm gonna start with you.
This could be one of the matchups.

Absolutely, I mean it's all a test of who can do some damage to Concord
because apparently no one really can.
And Cumberland's an interesting case study.
I mean you have another team like any R this league play semester
that have those two players that we know from that team
plus a new third.
It seems to really work out right now for ball state.
But the question is, can Nitya and Polar
have that substitution here of Kazi
to work the same wonders?
Bass, I feel like sometimes Cumberland is in third gear.
They seem to be world beaters, and then some weeks
you come on and you're like, man,
are they're using a high latency controller?
What's going on here?
What fight are we going to get today in your opinion?
You don't know. I want to say we're going to get the highest highs here for Cumberland.
The problem is that they do this every season. They start off really high and then as the season
progresses they start to find a middle round where they more or less live. We're halfway through so
theoretically they should be hitting that plateau that we've seen every season from them
and honestly this might not even be to their own detriment. This might just be
because they're playing Concorde.
Like at the end of the day, we got to admit that it's Concorde.
So no matter what the results happen here, if it's a win, incredible.
If it's a loss, you can't necessarily dog on Gumberland too hard
because it's Concorde.
Yeah, absolutely.
Look, you can't really understate how hard it is to be so good
at this format, at this league play.
It takes out of any program to even get to the dance,
to see such domination in the beginning of the season,
something to write home about.
Again, the Cumberland woes.
They're coming off three straight losses
to Akron, West Virginia, and Northwood.
So they're looking to find a way to stop that bleeding.
Jax, let me ask you this.
You're a Cumberland.
You're coming off a streak and not really feeling it.
You had a bit of swag going into the season.
It's not going the way that you want to.
What point do you throw the whole playbook out
and start over?
Or do you even do that at all?
I mean, at this point, I think
if you're going to play against Concord,
you should just throw out the entire kind of playbook due to the fact that Concord is now
entirely a European roster with Rezzi and is a absolutely stacked roster at that as well.
Like if anything, Polar might understand them the most, being that we also have a higher
majority of European versus NA players in this matchup to begin with. But it's pretty crazy
to note that this matchup is going to be the European play style at its epitome.
Yeah. And Pyro, I am well versed in how this team looks like with Helix who's not going to be in
action here today. What's something we can expect as far as a difference of offensive or defense
attack. If it is going to be any different night and day, there's no roster lineup.
I think it's going to be about the mechanical difference that we see. I mean, Helix really
is a player that you want to substitute if you have him on any roster. But that's the
thing about Concord. You take these three starters and definitely including Rezi.
You put them in an individual play and that's going to be a 50-50 you want to be careful
about. They're going to flip reset, air dribble, double tap, do everything that they can to make
those moments uncomfortable. I don't mind that situation for Niteya and Polar. I just haven't seen
enough of this trio to stand their ground against that ID offensive talent.
I do see a path of victory here for Carmel and please shot me down the whole panel if I'm
standing this incorrectly. You look at the game differential for a team like Concord,
double digits 14 plus 14 excuse me it has been on an absolute care not many
series see game five I don't think we've seen on the team one game five thus far
so maybe this may be the chaotic good and bash up me down if I'm wrong you just
hang out in front of net and slow things down slow the pace to make it as
annoying as possible the knuckleball idea for doing a baseball analogy am I
crazy you let me know it's not the worst idea but I also do think I'm
and fearful of being like, yeah, this will work for like a game.
And then what it turns into is, oh,
Smaas has 10 seconds midair to go and double reset on us.
Yeah, that's not a game I necessarily recommend.
It could work out, but at the end of the day,
Conqueror's a highly mechanical, highly adaptable team.
If you try to play one like part of a style,
they're gonna make changes
and they are going to punch you for that.

have absolutely been against us statistically we have lost most of the

It's just so hard to go against a concord team
that is just very aggressive and very mechanical.

This is a team that is undefeated right now, if you want to rely on any team to not concede
in the way that they are now, it should be Concord.

Just when it seems like every time Concord has found a way to shoot the ball at a different angle,
give a different look, they find some way to block it in the final seconds
and Kazi, a well-deserved MVP in this one, played an impeccable defensive and offensive game.
He's across the scoreboard on everything and even though Concord still had more shots
it did not matter because Cumberland had the pressure and just had the ice to make their shots matter.
I'll tell you what this overarching theme of new thirds on these league play squads has been a
great theme to follow because for West Virginia and that four player roster it didn't work out
so well but for Ball State BK couldn't say enough good thing about good things about
and now you have Kazi topping the charts here for Cumberland these new
insertions are bringing about the energy that is really what Cumberland is
exactly looking for. Yeah he did so well throughout the game and you often
wonder is it going to be a chemistry match match or in fact is your third
that much better than maybe the two previous players that now you're
that now you're building your game plan around your new theory.
You know, there's a lot of different strategies
to attack adding somebody new.
In the case of Ball State and Feeds,
he kind of meshed the gun, oats kind of dynamic duo energy.
But in the sake for Cumberland,
Kazi seems to almost be the one that you should work around.
If he has the hot hand especially in this series
then you should keep feeding him.
with the right kind of plays and the spark that Cumberland needed to hand
Concord their fifth game lost over the season. We've had a mind six matches from
Concord only four losses going into this. Now number five is there. That's why I was
saying it's such a big achievement here for Cumberland but maybe Concord have to
choose their achievements a little bit smaller because they haven't conceded
off the kickoff and that's a good sign.

That double demo to bomb combination was the knockout blow that is going to have to wake up Concord.

What's outrageous about those 10 saves from Cumberland
is it wasn't until nine saves
that Concord finally scored their first goal.
So if any team was told, hey,
you have to wait until the other team makes nine saves
for you to put in a single goal
that would be endlessly frustrating.
Concord need to find a way to be more efficient
on offense, maybe that's making the passing plays
a little less telegraphed and a little harder on the shots,
or it's about turning those demos into the right time
to remove those all-star defenders.
Yeah, it's certainly a peculiar matchup
in regards to how this is breaking down.
Concord, I'm sure not used to this.
Of course, this would be their first series loss
if Cumberland's able to take this in three.
They haven't found their success at field that they're used to.
They're now needing to make adjustments.
They're having to find ways to score.
It's just, it's a very difficult situation.
And now Cumberland has just been consistent
throughout the series,
that they are not giving Concord the success
that they're looking for.
And yeah, Cumberland proving that.
Oh, it doesn't matter how long your success has lasted.
to break it any second here in the 10th year anniversary field of the DMH 11
years now reminds me of how I started the game 10 years ago and that makes me
feel old chicks though so I'm done talking about it.
Well second shot off the post for Concord and that's getting a little bit
old too. Concord just can't seem to be as accurate as needed today they're so
close shot after shot after shot opportunity but that does not get you
far if it doesn't get in the back of the net. Rezzi in a one-on-one opportunity
50 comes through but doesn't do more than that. Another touch just to be
threatening because he's still in control. Polar has boost and this will be a
counterattack for Cumberland well read by Rezzi.

In this case, it's a touch into a demo for the follow-up opportunity.
You get multiple efforts upfield at a time,
and Cumberland now makes that one matter yet again.
Talk about the struggle of Concord to really score goals in this series.
It's not a good sign that they're trailing early.
Humberland, the add to this leap,
but they've got to get past Krispyverse on the reset mob.
No follow-up.
And so you've mentioned how this Concord team just
doesn't seem to be on the right page.
Opportunities abound, but haven't been able to leverage that.
Yeah, it just seems like even though the shots are there
and the offensive pressure is there,
They're not getting that final swing.
I think it's been, again, nothing on the same page
with one another, or there's simply
been way too many whiffs, misses, not as good touch as needed.
Finally, the connection is there from Crispy and Seamus.
And just like that, we tie ourselves up.
They can always rely on those two
to find some way to the net.
But that one was a little more special than the others,
it feels.
They've been going for those passing plays,
but the give and go, that'll get them almost every time.

and again another missed connection we are a near pixels away from some of these touches
taking very different turns.

because when Cumberland get cooking,
they've often finished it off with a goal.

We've got to pay attention to this faceoff that does go in Cumberland's favor.

They're finding creative ways to try to make this final goal work and seconds to do it.

We mentioned how individual effort and some small micro mistakes really make things matter and
and Seymas had one or two shots where I swore no one reflected no one went up for the challenge
and that gave him the opportunity to score.
Which felt like a polar opposite, no pun intended to what we've seen in the previous parts of
the series, right?
It took nine stops from Cumberland for Concord to score a goal and then look at game three
and you're right Seymas just kind of dog walked the ball into the net.
It's not the Cumberland defense we were used to.
I like their push at the end of this game, but if they want to take down this top Concord team at defense has got to remain top of the line.
I agree. Concord is, uh, well, I called them spicy and little feisty earlier today to start off in game one, and they will continue to be like that if you can't deny them on the goal line.
a very interesting turn of events in this series.
If there is a team to reverse sweep,
I do think Concord can do it.
But Cumberland has shown that they can win games against Concord,
so they need to knuckle down,
and they can take this series and make the mistakes
that we saw from them in game three.
As we get started here on game four,
I got to say as well,
Concord had seemed to tie up some loose ends.
Their passing plays weren't as ferocious as they could be.
But that giving going game three was perfect.
And then, again, you see their defense
just be more formidable, making some reliable stops on the ball.
It feels like in the ways that they were lacking,
they have strengthened it up.
Is this a concord now that Cumberland can still take down?
I think a lot of this game is going
to end up being bumps and demos and boost
steals that we've kind of been noticing.
At this point, one team is a little bit more successful
with it, whether or not to relieve pressure or apply.
That may just be the difference maker in Game 4 to extend or deny this series.
We'll see. We've seen, I think, Game 4 endings all of the day so far,
so the Tokyo hasn't looked too good for the trailing team.

hasn't had that same impact as the earlier series.

And for Concord, it's uncertain
whether it's going to be their day or not.
They were, it certainly was supposed to be.
They've got the one goal lead now
and it's just turned to two.
The patients needed on the goal line here.
But Kazi and Naito leaves it a little bit too early
when Polar is going for it.
And that ball slowly rolls on in
because there's nobody left in third-man position.
You can break down there from the Concord offense
against the defense.
A different kickoff there as they leave it for the second man,
but it's open things up for Seamus off the backboard.

and out of the gauntlet comes Crispy with the shot.

We're doing a good job of maintaining this possession
and making things a little dodgy here for Cumberland.

as cleanly as it was needed but this is another counter attack chance, a redemption
moment for Kazi and he lands it.
Yeah, perfectly executed, knows the vision,
undersends the attacks with this angle,
that there's nobody back.
With the May 20 left, Cumberland still has time
to mount the comeback.
Concord doing much better though,
believe that managing their offensive pressure
and they still need to be careful to not overextend
just like that one.
Well, that's an important play for Cumberland
just because they're calling the shots of Concord.
You know, it was Crispy going for that flip reset play
that some players might hesitate with.
But Kazi said, I'm going to take this away and score instead.
She says, can they do that with one and a left?
Now you're just to clear this one out, popped up,
CMOS, Polar getting bumped, but still manages
to get a touch and min.
What a clear at that as well.
Doesn't have much boost in the tank,
but quickly challenges Crispy.
Kazi up on this one to send towards the back while no follow-up touch just trying to bump at the goal line in the demo
I believe the spawn will not occur in time
Unfortunately, Rezzy gets one in the counter attack
Well, they really felt like an all-or-nothing play as you see
Everyone from Cumberland forward because he's on no boost trying to get that roadblock play on the backboard
There's no one back especially with that demo as Concord looked to take it off
time is ticking for Cumberland before this goes to potential game five reverse sweep territory
Naia with some pressure and a bump forward of the back walking
Cossie gets the angle no denied by Seamus was definitely come alive in the back half of this
series Rezy again on the turn gets the touch off the ceiling a great touch by Naia but
saves will not win them any more five seconds left on the clock and I think
time has just run out for Cumberland just like that.
Resi scores one more and we find ourselves in Game 5
territory. Why not? Listen,
Tokyo it's been the end for every series I believe today but it won't be the
end for this one. Concord on the reverse sweet trajectory and
I feel like the analyst take here is that if Cumberland were going to win the series, it had to have been a game three.
I would have to agree with you when they have that much momentum going into a series against a team that is again undefeated up until this current moment.
They have to do it quickly and swiftly and this series has not been quick or swift in that matter.
Now going to game five concord have found success of field
They're figuring out how to shoot how to be successful shooting how to amp up that pressure in terms of bumps and demos
This game has screamed bumps and demos to allow for opportunities and Cumberland just can't match
The sort of energy that concord is now bringing to the table
That's funny because I think bass mentioned this before the match began and it was that okay
even if you've figured out a way to best Concord, they will adapt. They will absolutely
find a way to get through. That adaptation has occurred, but who's to say that Cumberland
can't do the same, right? Concord, they tied up the loose ends and look like the team
that you know them to be. But for Cumberland, look at how they've succeeded in the previous
game. It was cozy calling the shot of Crispy, taking it away and scoring right off the
that they have to act with confidence with precision to best Concorde on last
time. Well game five there's nothing more that you could ask for between these
two off the post and already couldn't find the perfect power to match and
Concorde could have been on the board first at the end of the day do not
manage to get that here game five we'll see some shenanigans I already am
I'm expecting it.
Which we'll have to see here on Champions Field.

Yeah, eventually those two will have to play will have to determine someone at the top of the leaderboard.
But it is very interesting that we finally see that upper echelon be so undefeated yet again
And this is what makes teams like concord and that be so difficult because you may think you do

Now you're in the late game was looking exceptional with his playmaking ability, but the adaptations from concord
their ability to shape up their midfield play to be a little more precise and quick with their passing plays.
It all turned out to be an unstoppable force.
And things just didn't go the way for Cumberland in that last one either.

it been like getting used to not only being on a team in CRL but being on a
team with this high expectation former champions at that I mean it's fun for me
I don't struggle with the expectations at all like like there's only two good
teams in the league, really.

Is it concord back on top?
Because I know you weren't here last semester when the talks were happening,

But at the same time, like, do you doubt this Concorde team?
They said, OK, game two, hey, maybe we should start playing

Now, like, I fully believe that.
I watched that game, I casted that game.
That is what they did.
There were a lot of loose ends to tie up.
They did not look like Concorde in those first two games.
The back three, absolutely.
Yeah, that's what I actually want to ask you about,
So it did seem like Cumberland had a chance,
and I'm not even sure I'm gonna sell Cumberland short
because it does seem like Concord wasn't locked in,
wasn't as close in your perspective
as it was when you're outside looking in.
You know, I do think Concord has struggled sometimes
to take teams seriously off, off rip, you know,
off game one.
So they needed a little bit of a wake up call.
Ultimately, this was Concord's game to win or lose and they decided to win it after that game three point
They just definitely need to go into a series when you go into any series like this is for any team across CRL
You should be warmed up
You should be ready. You should be prepared and you should go into it feeling like that and they just didn't look like that
I mean, I know the term they use was they were like sleeping. Maybe they didn't warm up
I don't know what the 30 minutes prior to the series looked like, but certainly 30 minutes into that series
It finally looked like they were ready to play like we know Concord plays
The question for you bass did Concord give the the back half of the season messed in the back half of his leg up
Bit of a sight of their underbelly or Achilles heel the way it took them so long to warm up against a team like cumberland
If it weren't for the fact that they closed out the series, I'd say there's a level of concern,
but I think with the confidence in which they did close out that series,
there really isn't. They've barely dropped any games throughout this semester,
and the fact is, is that like, yeah, okay, they dropped the first two games, it's not looking pretty.
Game 3, you can clearly see them lock in, and games 4 and 5 were not close.
It was very clearly that Conkel were back on top, and I think that's the whole thing, is that like,
it feels silly to say, but like, legitimately it is, if Conkel or Take It Seriously, they beat anybody.
If they're kind of, you know, messing about, they could lose to anybody.
So I fear for that team that they might need to start walking in,
but when they do, you know, we see how well they can perform.
If they take it seriously, that's a big F.
Concord is just one of the two teams that is pulling double duty.
This second match is right now.
They're taking on a very game squad in Fisher.
And, well, us in the production is known that Fisher has had a little bit of a show game.
When it comes to what the team looks like on the actual pitch, but we do have confirmation here today
It's going to be the trio of Ivan Royals and Justice taking on of course, Krispy

We have Ivan coming in for Adam who has mostly played for Fisher on this three spot and I've it's a really interesting
Guarantees that fantastic player. I've watched him particularly on the RLCS side of things with SSA
Fun fact if it wasn't footy sports to represent that region, it would have been Ivan on his Spanish roster with a with Riz
He has incredible
uh capability when it comes to performing at the top and I feel like you couple that with Royaleis who was like a match away from representing Sam at this worlds from LCQ with justice this is a wild card scary team.
You know best thing to step back or you think about teams that are dominate or showed up in CRL a lot of times you get a new heroes coming to the fray but Fisher whatever iteration you like of Fisher always seems to be
in the conversation. I mean, that must be something for them.
Bit of a buff to know that whatever happens to them,
when lose or draw, they find their way in the Seattle
conversation.
I think it's very similar to what we were talking about
with Cumberland before, where very high ceiling,
somewhat lower floor, but kind of elevated.
They've got a higher ceiling.
They've got a higher floor than Cumberland.
So you never really know where they're going to end up.
We talked about this coming into the day, though.
The big problem for fishers isn't necessarily
that they have this instability of going high, low,
Ohio, Ohio, it's that they've already taken three losses.
The beginning of the season for them has looked extraordinarily rough so far,
with losses to Ball State, losses to I believe Cumberland actually as well here.
Like it's just not been Fisher's Day so far, or I guess semester so far.
So I don't really know what to say about Fisher right now.
Fisher feels like a giant question mark.
We're talking about, you know, the dark horses of the league here.
I'd still rather give that to Cumberland because Fisher shouldn't be a dark horse.
They finished second last semester.

Once you have that big moment of proofing me wrong, cool, I'm back on the train.
We're hyped.
They haven't done that.
We are halfway through the semester.
They have not done that.
If they get a win here today, cool.

I got to be honest with you.
I thought about going either way with this, that having Ivan prove this a stronger
team where it really comes down to respecting space. It should be Fisher, but I gotta go
and conquer it myself. I mean, look, you've got to tell me you have to give me a reason
why not to roll with you. You haven't really dropped the season all semester. You've found
a way to get yourself out of a O2 hole, which says you're pretty much locked in.
It has to be Concord for me. But look, predictions are one thing. The real problem,
The real test is the actual game.
It is a best of five series, a last series of the evening.
It is Concord, it is Fisher, and hitting the pitch right now.
Dominance vs. resilience, Fisher has never say die,
and the big bad Concord are going to clash.

The comeback trail is littered with twists and turns and different starting points.
For Fisher, their comeback semester has to be right now.
For Concord, it's been an entire semester of comeback after last semester was definitely
not up to par.
Both these teams need to ride that momentum to do playoffs.
One of them, looking like they're going to make it.
The other one has to start that now.
Since I'm in this one out here, Pyro, you and I, for the final series of the day, I could not be more excited.
Let's get it. Let's bookend it this day with, hopefully, a stutter of a match. We've had some game pours.
We just had a game five, and I'm estimating game five here.
Fisher, to make that big comeback that you're mentioning, they have to believe that Concord didn't just decide to turn their monitors on for that reverse sweep.
That there is still a tinge of doubt that they can pierce in this game.
Oh! First pierce goes to Fisher! Roy Alice, the one to get her started off.
It's technically a double team effort here as two players go for it.
When he says he'll do it solo, forget it, Ivan. You're not getting the goal that easily.
Well, those are my favorite goals, right? Alice has the name in the limelight there,
but the work was done with the disruption amongst the demos. Let him walk it in.
It really feels like this is going to be a back-and-forth-office series
where goals like that are going to be pretty commonplace.
It's not necessarily gonna be easy to get a goal, but if you ever move the defenders
I'm pretty sure anybody here is capable of scoring on a relatively open net
So like there might be even some more defenders removed and there's another open net and they will score
Why are you guys like the the lot of numbers like it feels like I just got prediction powers right now. I
Mean I was given it to realize to be the guy but right now one player has three demos and it's just us
Listen, 9L demos are the same, right?
It's got to be well-timed, it's got to be on the right player.
It has to provide an opening for your team.
It feels like all three demos have been perfect from him.
Yeah, just us again has been a very talented player,
but the player that we're looking at for a Fisher right now is going to be Ivan.
They started off the season with a four-man roster.
They were playing with Adam initially,
but now Ivan finally has appearances here in CRL, which does make sense.
This is the roster they ran with last semester,
so you'd be surprised to see them switch it up.
But again, Adam's a well-known name in the CRL space.
Been around for a long time, has a lot of impressed backlades,
so it makes sense to at least try it out.
Try as they like, though.
It has not been a successful semester.
Something had to change.
And already, you're seeing with the addition of Ivan,
it seems like things are changing for the better.
Not to mention it hasn't been a successful day
for the teams that are just trying things out.
R.E. West Virginia.
But they sure are going to prove that they're not the same.
They had a little bit of a dodgy moment there.
Two players colliding with the other.
And, uh, Crispy is gonna make a collision happen as well, but not if that is enough to make for a golf tour on court until right now.
Wait, I mean, I gotta watch this one back. Obviously, some loss gets the air dribble, but, uh, where's the deep fence?
I know there was a demo, but I didn't think it was gonna leave it that open.
I think just Riles and Justus are believing they can push up a little bit further.
Things get out of whack, and immediately it's an open net.
So, both teams need to be careful. As much as I understand, this is gonna be a very offensive bout between the two teams.
The offense is still going to be required.
I'm not surprised to see that it's Samas, the one kind of carrying it in that and making that move because that was the player to absolutely pop off in the series we just watched.
Samas a dangerous asset to this Concord roster, certainly looking for more than just that.
Mostran take this one through the corner, and even 50 himself in but Roy Alice in the way.
Lockout's a little bit awkward for Crispy, does he even have a touch here?
Yes he does, and he actually coordinates it with Samosa, they can get a touch back, then the opposite half.
Doesn't get that far, just does an Ivan instead, gonna try to turn that into a shot, but unsuccessfully.
And Rezzi to take over, slippery set out center, pass back potentially to Rezzi, but instead it fires off as a shot.
Concord, though, loadin' him up and just taking shot after shot until eventually something will fall.
We're talking again.
And Samas does it again.
And nearly all the demos for his team, all of the goals for his team.
And I had a little more belief there in Royaleis to stay behind the ball on the first touch from the backboard.
But they give Concord an inch, they'll take a mile.
And now we have found ourselves at a dead even halfway through this first game.
Again, we are expecting this to be the type of game, I guess, at least on paper when you talk about Fisher.
It's just they haven't shown moments like this throughout the semester. Fantastic response!
Ivan was this olden dagger for the RLCST must covering in SSA.
The ability to shine with those mechanics at the right time.
The playmaking ability is out of this world and it's a great T-up to Royaleis to take the lead back.
Well, let's see if he can even add on to it.
Hush off the backboard, goes straight to Justus, and the shot on target requires two players from Concord to stop.
It does work out though, because Rezzi, it's straight to him and he gets the top of the other way.
But not all that far, Realus on the wall.
He might still have a reset, and so does Samas, that's why he waited to make the challenge.
Miz, he serves it right back up to Justus, who's gonna try to find something towards the net.
Not quite enough.
Someone's just gonna lurking on the Concord half a longer than I was anticipating.
It does kind of feel like Concord.
Little bit of growing paint. Maybe it's because of the fact that they were used to the play style and dominance that they just proved against...
Never mind. No, no, no, no. No growing paint, none of that. It just took them a second and we're back tied.
And they went through the paint and now they are standing at the top of the total pole from top to down.
Goes crispy at the top of the CRL leaderboard and they're looking to stay there.
3-3, 6 goals in just about 4 minutes time. Not even, like 3 minutes and 20 seconds here in our first game, this is going to be an absolute offensive powerhouse on either end.
Ready to see how this one develops, but with 90 seconds to play, there is still technically time for either team to find at least a couple more here in regulation, especially if you double commit.
Just thus, if he had a little bit more boost in tank, probably could have fired that at net, but instead, one person possession play for Fisher instead.
Well, that's good 50. He can't find the follow though.
Samos with some crazy composure and have to go for the save there.
It's the President's mind for Samos to make those split-second decisions and keep Concord ahead.
Speaking of ahead though, Residant intercepts the counterattack pass.
That's a great tee-up from Samos to himself. Triple tap nearly there.
But it goes just off the mark.
Clearly ain't enough. You need to put something perfectly on target
or at least have a follow-up from another player.
Somebody from Concord was there, but it really needs some more firepower just like that great save from Royalis
Here come the rest of Concord again
Rezzy shot on target forces another save and he gets the boost skill only about a half a minute to play
This is a dangerous position for Fisher here. They don't want to over commit while low on resources
Great read from Royalee. Samas was cooking something and he's cooking once again

the lead. I'm telling you man my predictions are on point right now because I said don't
over commit and what do they do? Over commit. Great to each of the fantastic passing play
to get around the third defender who was technically within the area but you're stuck
in a rock and a hard place there. Two fantastic players against you you have to make a challenge
and unfortunately the challenge failed. Twenty seconds left though plenty of time
for a response in order to send it to OT.

That's a great start here for Concord
and I gotta admit, Fisher impressing me so far.
Again, we haven't been able to see this trio in a hot minute
and I'm glad to see that the trio is at least contesting
because that wasn't the big issue for Fisher.
Wasn't it being like, oh, you know,
oh, they're taking losses, but they're keeping it close.
It was taking losses in pretty dramatic fashion
if I'm being quite frank.
I'm not mistaken.
3-0 loss to CMU that's Cumberland, 3-1 loss to Boise.
It's not as if they've been able to keep games in series close.
So the fact that they're doing that here against the number one team in the league,
props to them. We might actually have a battle on our hands.
Yeah, it's like where do you send that benchmark for Fisher as they seem to be trending up?
The problem is you've got to trend up in a parabolic fashion.
If you're going to catch up to Concord,
This is not really the team that you want to have to have your new squad beat battle tested.
But I agree good showing for Fisher. I just want to see goals happen in a more
organic sense. I felt like it was flurry at the start of the game,
bass, whereas Concord seemed more measured throughout the game and at the end of the
tally, they were up. Yeah, the big thing is again, we want to see passing plays like what
that final was because we know all three players on both sides of the pitch are effortlessly
playing around each other. They have that chemistry. They have that cohesion.
I don't know if we really saw that in game one. Again, it was a lot of solo chance and something
you were talking about in the last series here. So the question is, can they change that up from
game two? And maybe that's the advantage Fisher is looking for. Second game officially underway,
I will state this. Kind of do or die for Fisher. You do not want to reverse sweep against Concord.
Yeah, we don't have the same expectations for Fisher when it comes to Concord's ability
through reverse sweep and a lot of that is due to the fact that it is awkward on the other side.
Well, it was a scoring spree in game number one, so far scoreless, but
it's time for Resident Company to change that Opsamas over the top.
He kind of knew as soon as that went back out center. That was a goal almost guaranteed.
It was super awkward here. Poor challenge that it just does.
The demo ends up turning into a smoke screen kind of against
I can't get you despite getting the demo. Yeah, that's another one of those awkward moments that as much as you want to kind of, you know
Take away from Fisher's defense
They come in the most in the right moments
About to kick off. Whoa the miss from Fisher doesn't go
Leverage by the team that one is off the post and it's close call central here. They get it off for a game, too
It sure that would have been a nice one to steal away
They're not going to get that one, and I actually don't think they're going to get much afterwards.
That's an awkward challenge in Royalex, and I think he knows that,
which is why Rezzy's just going to try and take a flick the other way to force this stop to the offense.
It does work out, but I've been great recovering up the side wall, or maybe a bit of an overcommit,
because now his two teammates in the back line need to make up for the three-man offense that's just fired against them.
Four minutes left in this game, we've only gone through the first,
but it really does kind of feel like Concord again.
More and more confident, more and more comfortable as the series goes on.
That's just a scary thing. So how do you break through? How do you make Concord sweat?
I guess you barrel the ball off the backboard and just try to generate chances like that.
Right there from Mayales, that was the leaderboard leader for his team.
I would say MVP, but they didn't win the last game. They're generating chances on the backboard.
Still trying to break through, but that full boost backboard defense from Rezzi is not enough.
Ivan gets it right between them.
You got to feel for rising, because he knew as soon as he made this touch, it was the worst play possible.
It's why he seemed to try to get down, put his nose down to try and get a 50 in the way, just to make him put it out hard to get it.
But without a perfect 50, that's a goal almost every time.
Good response from Fischer, proving that they are not infallible.
Concord can make mistakes, and you can punish them for it.
I think it's about enforcing those mistakes.
Roy Allies was that enforcer.
Ivan was that savior, but nobody was left for the bullet in return from Crispy.
And this is the problem with playing Concord even if you play well, they make you so awkward that three players on the line
None of them can stop it. That just has to suck in if you're Fisher
You're playing right you're doing the right stuff and it's still not enough
I'm recognizing a theme here with the goals that are scored
Sometimes the defense just mustn't shape up the way they're supposed to the saves the clears
They're not in a position the defenders and the goal line just can't get the ball away

Second time I've said this today, but I, for an eye,
again, physicality and just redirection in front of the net.
I think initially, they're thinking
what Alice is trying to go over with that one,
because he does have extra boots to the tank.
He plays it low, throws it up to his teammate,
and immediately the block comes out,
and it's a great shot on target.
So again, as much as we keep talking about Concord
at the advantage in this series,
it does seem like Fisher has a response on every play.
After neither team, you look at the goals they've
scored in each game.
And if they didn't know, Tally on the other side
They'd say, oh, of course we're coming away with the wins.
No, we are just in the middle of a shootout.
That only gets worse.
You're kidding me.
Fisher, you know you can score without doing air dribble
bumps, right?
That's great.
I think you should keep going, because it's working for you
to sink a pole in a row with the exact same setup.
So can we give Confimus to Fisher for executing
perfectly again, or do we maybe have some questions
about, hey, Concord, if they show you the same play
twice, maybe you should be a little more
prepared for it the second time?
I mean, listen, if they come out with the win, they can use their past excuse.

How do you follow a game plan when you keep getting demoed?
That elimination on the third man opened things way too wide for Fisher to that score.
This is a very different version of Fisher.
Like we said, they have been somewhat unremarkable throughout this season.
Considering the path accolades we expected so much.
Now we're starting to see what they really could look like if they played like this consistently.
Five goals in less than four minutes and incredibly impressive record so far here through this series.

What point do we start to see maybe the defense become a bit more a priority and a bit more focus?
I mean, maybe Fisher have started to figure it out.

That was my player to watch coming into this match.
He kind of forces that by putting himself in the spotlight
and kind of doing the most.

We don't want all that pressure on one player, but if they're executing well under the pressure,

It's enough for that one win, but we learned already today that one win, even two, isn't

It seems to work with their play style.
We were never expecting anything but chaos
with this dynamic roster.
In fact, that's kind of been a theme of today
is what roster changes are or lineup changes are
working for teams.
For Fisher, it's good enough for a game win.

We said they need to start prioritizing defense.
I think that they got the memo.
Well, it comes down to their plays on these individual ascents from Fisher.
Notice their approach. It was Royale. I said it was Ivan.
They had full boost with the ball. They go straight up.
They say, Concord, if you want to defend us, you got to come to us.
You have to use that full tank of boost to get us away.
Maybe follow it up with demos as well.
That is what Concord has done, but both remain scoreless.
That was a very small demo from, I think,
was Ivan on the third man at Concord.
Otherwise, it would have been a follow-up play,
but in between, so it actually forced Concord back
in their half.
Now we get a little bit of a midfield battle
between the two teams as a result.
When it's gone here in this game,
this is by far the lowest score in the fair we have had
in this series, and could have ended right there.
Rezi, though, rotating through midfield,
didn't have a chance to dive as the second man's a concord instead will take it back to their half
It's Moss awkward air dribble, but he gets Ivan to fight which is probably not the best thing for Fisher here as now
Here comes the onslaught not quite enough though again crispy out of midfield take this one high great first touch
So the reset around just us but instead it's actually I've been coming cross court

However, the one double down I would not recommend is the amount of people on the line right now.
For both teams, it kind of feels like they're just waiting for the shots to fire
and then figuring out the game plan on how to escape afterwards.
It's a problem for Fisher because I don't think they're playing for defense,
but they are definitely playing a majority defense and just giving time for Kongor to cook.
It's just something you really can't allow them to do.
Some awesome Crispy, the two players with those assists.
They know so well how to do it.
I think back to that play from Crispy off the ceiling.
We all saw him with too much space,
and we knew what was happening next.
You've got a classic Rocket League gamebass of,
hey, there were seven goals in the last game,
and, oh, yeah, the next one,
there's barely more than one.
Yeah, this is a very different series all around.
Game one, seven, game two, nine.
We get a total of, what, 16 goals in two games,
and then three in the third.
Yeah, it's quieting down,
but I also think that this is both teams
hitting the level at which we expect them to play.
The problem is that there's very clearly
different vibes about teams.
All of Concord are laughing, having a good time, vibing.
You saw in the background of Fisher,
it is pressed in their ear telling them,
hey, things are going wrong, it is time to make changes.
This is their last chance.
Nino Tokyo's been the deathbed for many of teams
and for Fisher, this could be the deathbed
for their semester if they're not careful.
They need to prove that they can push this to five
and stay in contention with the best
that CRL will have to offer.
It's a plane versus
hives, as
Concord just, yeah, have since the beginning kind of laughed off
whatever play of the fourth. You gotta love the fact that we get cams on the
players. They can see that kind of thing. The reactions after the goals
they'll have a great reaction if they can get away with the series here in
Game 4.
So far not much happened to the first 30 seconds. Moss, that's a little awkward.
He's gonna make the challenge, he's gonna wait to,
and then two players will con-cord will commit.
It means Reddy's gotta do a lot here to buy time
for his teammates, and he is trying
with the ugliest car I've ever seen.

we were talking about here.
It really is just a team of fibers
and it's working out
because I think they might just find a second goal here.
Awkward for Roy Allen, so make the save.
Rezzie, with the fall of his own touch
with a touch off the backboard,
he does get it, but just does in the way.
Smaas knocks off the ball.
That'll probably end the offense here
or at least make some hesitation for Concord
but they'll still make a challenge out of midfields.
Just does no boost here though
so he can't really do too much with this ball
And Smaas knows that, so he'll wait on the opposite side of the net.
Prezi makes a fake challenge against Royals.
I think just trying to force Fischer into some more of those awkward moments
that they've been taking advantage of throughout the series.
That's got to be a goal.
And indeed, it is.
A little bit of awkwardness on the net, actually,
in contrast for Concord will give up one.
Fischer were getting to the point
where they believed it was voodoo that was the reason they couldn't score.
Because how are some of these advances not landing Royales?
Puts all the doubts to bed by equalizing.

That's a read that in my lobbies, I know no one's making, but even in this lobby I know it's difficult.

50 for an hour, set a 5 in and I don't get bumped off of the ball almost immediately.
Physicality is definitely not slowed down as this series has progressed speaking of which I've been trying to run interference in net
It's still not enough. They sure are looking closer and closer to their second goal here
But they can be careful
We've talked about Fisher's inability to recognize when they over commit and give up goals and silly mode and silly mistakes
And I play through this game
It would suck to give up a goal right now and if even worse if you do it through physicality some loss looking for that
Don't cannot find it two demos were not enough
Such a smart play from Samas and getting position for the dunk after the smokescreen of the demo
So it's very hard for the defender to realize that get Fisher remain alive
This is a point of panic though. Can they survive or chilly or Fisher?
There's no redirect right on the play in the painted justice
Finds a round around has a hard time getting on four wheels
to us, the pass to the center, Rezzi had the flip to keep up.
That was quite the play from Fisher.
They sent it all the way the opposite half.
I think Justice ended up taking boost
in the opposite corner because they were like,

Boost starvation, again, been a huge factor for Concord
throughout this entire game.
So it's really Fisher having to take those moments
where they can find the reprieve,
grab some boost, and get ready to survive
because here comes even more offense.

Unfortunately, I think that's going to be the nail in the coffin for this series.

It's that Concord are looking unbeatable,

to feel so comfortable about, especially

I think that Adam has had some inconsistencies
throughout the semester

or the team's play style,
just not telling how it's supposed to,
But this is why they used Ivan last semester, man.

I think the only reason they didn't start the semester
with the same roster was because they were having some issues
with players not getting into the States in time,

Well, I think we have to take a look at our standings

after we have our results.

Let me start with you, pass.
Looking at top four, looking at the bottom,
I mean, it's kind of do or die time
for a lot of teams in the mix.
This is what we keep talking about,
is that as much as you might think,
oh, I've got the whole semester to figure it out.
No, you don't.
If the bar has always been get 10 wins and you got a decent chance of making it through
Anything less than that and you are likely getting eliminated and playing in the LCFU
And there are some teams that are getting close to 10 wins being their maximum amount of wins
And those are good teams too
West Virginia loses one more match and that is their maximum record for the semester at 10 and 5 their max right now
Is 11 and 4
So it's very clear that you need to make sure you are consistent throughout the entire semester.
Another team that I have to point out, we didn't really talk about them here today,
but I am also concerned about back-to-back CRO playoff participants,
Winthrop are at 4-in-4 now.
So again, top 4 makes sense here with Concord, Northwood, Maryville, and Paul State's a little odd.
I think that it's probably going to be between M&Bailer, but not seeing West Virginia,
not seeing Winthrop, not seeing Fisher in the conversation for top 4 is bizarre.
Yeah, with Winthrop had the case of like, okay, they lost those first three, it's okay, they're fine now.
Now they've added a fourth loss to the tally. So I agree. It gets a little worrying.
For the rest of these teams outside of the top three, you're kind of hoping there's some chip damage
to teams like Maryville and maybe hopefully Northwood because at a certain point, it's gonna be
13 teams fighting for one spot to get to that championship and Ball State you managed to replace West Virginia today
I expect that spot to be fluid over time
The only two that have a lock down or concord in Northwood
Honestly, you you better be ready for a dogfight between third and 10th really

I mean yeah, it's gonna be tough last two spots
So you better be ready to make the most out of the back half of your season
And if you don't clinch that top four get ready for that last chance qualifier. Oh, yeah
I just many paths in that last chance qualifier, you know what as we talked about all the way to get there
You have to give a normal at 3v3 open qualifiers
The three open quarter restriction closes Tuesday. That's this Tuesday September 29th at 1 p.m. Eastern
can't stress that enough 1 p.m. Eastern and games we played on October 3rd at
1 p.m. Eastern as well and make sure you tap in to the CRL community as
community trees if you're going about really putting down giving you a front
row seat to the action as well. Before we get out of here this week I
want to go up and down one more time to test with some follow-ups on the day.
First of all pass what is on your mind sir. I think that we are
continuing to prove the narrative that this is the strongest semester of
scurrell we have ever had but also simultaneously we are proving that if
you do not come prepared you are not going to win but I I'm gonna save my
conclusions till we get to the end of the semester but this is now I don't know
the 15th semester in a row where he said four man rosters do not work
you do like they don't want yeah I don't crazy thought that all the
15 others that didn't work also now we're showing that these don't work
So I'm not going to state that it's doom and gloom and it's over at this point.
But like, dude, we got to see these teams figure out their rosters.
I've had too many conversations with coaches being like, I promise
this is where it comes together and it's just not doing so.
There's a reason the top three teams are the top three teams.
I got some questions, but look, we're only halfway through.
So I don't want to make any conclusions yet.

Oh, I mean, what a day to be in zero double headers for two teams.
They do well in those said double headers so shout outs of course the ball stayed in concord
Interesting to see how the bracket will continue to go through but yeah be prepared if you're playing your serial matches

but like we didn't mention too much about the bottom 12 and that's because it's scary to be down
there. We don't know who's going to rise up, but it's even scarier because I want to give a shout
out to the CRL Open teams that are doing so well. The top eight of those squads are going
to be playing in the LCQ against the bottom 12 of the league play. They won those four remaining
spots is going to happen at the LCQ, so we play teams better, better straightened up now because
