pistol rounds having huge impact or late round moments as well. Him and Dijit
in with the backbone of the CGT.
Yeah, I felt like he was really good at kind of playing more back on the end,
going into that retake, or even kind of flooding towards that G site.
I really liked EGV here and the amount of utility that they had to delay it there.
Bowell also had so many of these rounds where he had like a shorty in his back
fucking, he's getting a ton of kills.
Like he was kind of just the pistol expert throughout this game.
And it's funny when you look at like the the the score lines here between everyone,
because the map almost felt like a 2v2.
Yeah, D1 stepping into this roster, Envy looking phenomenal and also Eggster stepping up, I think, pretty consistently throughout this game to keep it so competitive.
Yeah, there's a lot of aggression, a lot of gunfighting happening here and that's clearly, of course, a strength that we know Envy has and that we're leaning heavily into this one, Emily.
Yeah, they were starting to kind of win around just by doing that. You know, EG and Envy were kind of just brawling in a main.
We saw them do that towards dugout and that's where Envy started to find their success.
as soon as he started playing a little bit more back kind of playing a little bit
slower is where they kind of were able to close it out there now of course we
only see what we have on screen but our very dear Mimi she got the inside scoop
from any Mimi what did you hear in that first map yeah much like how I've been
hiding in the corner listening to you guys I was doing the same to Envy
throughout the start of this map the big elephant in the room is of course a
dean and one coming into this roster and if you were thinking about his
performance on cloud nine, having a lot of ideas in the pre-round, putting himself in positions
where he's telling his team what he needed. I think we had some of that here from demon one as well,
but the big difference is that he was playing on the Astra and he was joining into a team that
already has a lot more voices and a lot more players that have preset ideas going in. So I
think in some ways, well, he still called out tendencies and what he felt in some of these
pre-rounds this is a bit of a step back for demon one and still trying to find
those places to get his word in. Getting the word in though that was really the
name of the game for Envy. This is a team with a lot of players with strong
opinions. A lot of players who are very strong individually and have reeds of
where they want to be to thrive and the make or break for Envy is navigating
those situations correctly and defining what call they're committing to in time
to properly set it up, especially when they're having two micro at times, utility from players
like Demon 1 or even other members of the team because so much is on the fly. They've had to
really balance defining the chaos and the mix wasn't there in the first half, but it improved in
the second to make it close to find out if that's enough going into Corode as we check in with Envy's coach.

Against Ekos, you can pretty much use... you can use ult against Ekos as long as it's like your mind's really low.
Just 5 rounds is usually a good simple plan.
But on Ekos, they converted 100% of their main advantage.

about it let's talk about those two teams. Leviathan I want to start with here because week one and
two that they can get to play with their full roster right they came in with a sub which is always
was a difficult kind of, you know, place to be in.
Now, Neon became eligible and immediately
they started winning.

Neon was absolutely on fire.
I mean, in his debut goes 13 in first kills

when watching them, right?
I felt like the thing that stood out to me for them
was their team chemistry.
They were doing so well at fighting together,
but it felt like something was missing.
And when we saw Neon come back in, I realized,
oh, they weren't just doing a one-for-one sub with PXS.
No, they were literally playing around PXS,
changing their comps, changing their roles.
And now that we see them back on their comfort picks
and playing into their game plans
that they originally wanted to come in with, with Neon,
it feels great.
I think it answered a lot of the questions that we thought were going to be easy to answer,

Easy on as incredible as he was in Tier 2 individually.
Yes, is Spike going to play to his peak form when the team's roles get fixed?

And can they win dominantly against a sub roster?

But to me, I still think that because of how dominant that game was, because of how reliance
on individual performances that game was, that was not yet the test of how good love
is as a team and how deep they can go.

I'm here with coach owner ahead of their match against Sentinels. And I want to ask you about the growth that the team has had so far. You were the coach of the players in Latin back today. Now we get to call icons.
So, what is new generation?
Tell me, what is the balance of refinement for player development and, you know, letting
them run it down and sometimes also just pulling back and making sure that these bases are
looking good.
Yeah, this group of young men, it's not like in 2021 or 2022 that we were starting, you
know.
This group had a lot of personal development, a lot of work that they did before me.
They knew that they want to be professional players since they were like 14 or 15.
So it's easy for me, you know, they are very young, but they are very professional.
So they make my life easy.

But I think it does mean a lot to owner to find success with this roster.
The last time he was a coach in America, he was coaching a Levy aton that he's most

So now with a second shot after more than a year away, he has this opportunity with some
of the best talent that South America has to offer to actually show that he can coach
a team to success and kind of make up for the mistakes of the past.
Yeah, now, of course, it's unfortunate that, you know, showing them and now a bit later into the kickoff now they're finding themselves at the brink of elimination and sort of sentinels and quite frankly, like these are two teams that historically have stronger starts in a kickoff.
Yeah, I mean, this is a team that, you know, came into 2024 to go on to win Masters Madrid, right? Even last year they come out as the second team from America's even after losing a star in 10.
So I think it's interesting to see that Sentinels
have been able to find success in previous years,
even after losing stars like Tens,
like Saucy being able to rebuild
around one or two missing pieces.
But this year with the whole rebrand, it's looking rougher.
No, it is, but I think one key thing
in why their rebuilds are so successful in the past,
or right off the start, they were successful,
is because they kind of had plug-in play players.
They had players that were already established, right?
There was no question on their strengths
and like their value that they would bring to the team.
Whereas this year is a little bit more developmental, right?
They're kind of aiming for that future success
rather than the immediate,
bringing up two players from tier two,
swapping your IGL to a different person, right?
Like if there's a lot of changes here,
that's just looking for positive things to happen
in the future.
It's a long run.
Still, if you can't make it happen and kick off,
you have more than like two months basically
where you're just sitting back
and having to practice and prepare for stage one.
And especially for Levy-Iton,
Missing the the first masters in a in a Latin American country. That would be a big disappointment for them
I mean the last time these teams played against each other you had tens second saucy
Ostfoss and calm just think about the amount of trophies between those players now
Reset back to kind of starting from zero and seeing which
Developmental project is actually further along. I'm sure both teams don't want to find themselves into position now last year
we are and for more on Sentinels new roster and the kickoff struggles with diet, sit and diet,
dry it, sitting down. Nailed it. Absolutely. Hey guys, I'm here with coach Kaplan ahead of your
match against Love. This is a high pressure situation, but it's not the first time that you've
been here, whether it was Grand Finals or another elimination. So for today, how does this kind of
pressure compare to other pressure that we had in the past and with this specific roster as well?
Yeah, I think pressure is always a tool. There's always a lot of it on Sentinels.
It's important to me as a coach to use it, right? Pressure helps us stress test our
issues, stress test our systems the way our roster works, and we're definitely
getting put through that right now. I think the difference right now is that in
the past a lot of the time it was just about playing under pressure and getting
comfortable with that. Right now it's obviously still about that, but it's also
a very competitive region this year. We're right at the start of the year and I
And I think our team has a little more growth that we need to go through compared to previous
years.
So we're really trying to use that pressure during the scrim weeks.
Just double down, be very deliberate, and make sure that shows up in the scrims or in
the matches.
Which is something that you mentioned as well, where you were focusing on making improvements
every single day.
And that was the goal for the team.
So how do you balance those small improvements and make sure that the players are constantly
applying them, even in a situation like this one?
Yeah, I think that during a scrim week, we're definitely going to be deliberate and work on a few target things.
And we just need to all be bought in that when we go into the match, we don't need to be the perfect team to win these matches.
We don't need to be incredible at 20 things.
Working on those things we've been working on in scrims, making sure we're still doing them in matches under pressure, that's enough to win.
And I think as long as we understand that, we stay focused on it and it still shows up.

way, which has led to thought as to whether Narrate might be
swapped off that primary duelist role after his

And I think that is one of the big things to look at as we
get set for this game.

pressure I think after swapping back onto the rule something he did back when he
was across the pond in EMEA for a little bit but on wearing that sentels jersey

simulator that you specifically are a massive fan of.
I wouldn't say I'm a massive fan of playing
X-ray and retake simulator,
but I will say it was very effective in this game.
I think it is really a feature of owner's coaching style
that we saw all the way back when he was playing on the,
or coaching for a very previous Leviton roster,
playing a ton of these retakes.
And I think against teams that have great retake protocols
and know how to pick at you and get aggressive,
it can get punished.
But in this game, it looked on point.
I think especially with a lot of the flanks from King,
they looked very well put together on these retakes.
Yeah, what it allows them to do is have that extra time
to set up to get the timing of the flanks
before fully activating, or to make sure your spacing
when you get back in sight is good
by slowing things down and playing together.
