Like that wasn't even the issue. I feel like they just weren't capitalizing off the side for utility at all.
And we were talking a bit about the Wele earlier with Hyunmin, and he's obviously stepped up here.
This is a very stark contrast to their last match between Hyunmin and Primi.

And we have still have some question marks on the solo way there, but to be honest on this map
I do like this solo way there
I definitely think it's not one of the more difficult ones
I think behind this are quite a difficult one because we're knowing where to go for your dashes a little bit harder
But on this map, there's pretty good spots for you to be dashing into into the mains
You can do some aggro's the mid dash is really good as well
It's something that a lot of the way they teams use all the time for mid control
And in general, I think it was pretty well flushed out in terms of there's always a KO flash to support him
We saw this comp do really well in the past MIBR also ran this comp
ASPA showed us some really impressive performances on the way
They didn't play the solo but it's very much the same thing the solo the fade, right?
It's just a little bit of a preference difference
So I think for this comp it makes a lot of sense and how they played it
It's yeah, they blew them out of the water
Yeah, the playbook was you could tell they have a pretty deep playbook for this particular
comp and for this map. In fact we're seeing an increasing use of KO across all
the regions here and this may have surprised false sense. Yeah for sure I
mean we can look at how DRX use that KO on the attacking side and the knives
that they use. A lot of the time it was just to wrestle control of the mains
and the the reason why it's important to highlight this is because you have to
make a choice now. It's not a 40 second cooldown anymore it's 60 second
for a lot of these signature utility on the initiators. KO knife included so
You'll see the KO often using a flash to help the Wei Lei take mid control and the KO knife is often used on the mains
And as I mentioned before when we were discussing the Cypher, the KO knife was very rarely used in very many of the side takes
It was used once on the left side of B here as we can see which is not where Jit Boys was playing and outside of that
It was very rarely used for the side hits unless it was in the late round
Yeah, I definitely think the KO Jit Boys in general got a lot of value for them
but also the way fullsense plays, even in the clips right at the start, right?
You would see fullsense would group in one main, right at the start of the round.
You're playing against KO. This is something that is maybe very easy for people to remember on a sense,
because you play against it all the time, right? Sometimes they don't even get hit by the zero point, right?
But if they could have, it's still showing that there's some understanding,
like misunderstanding in terms of how you need to play against the KO,
where you need to wait for the knife first, you start off a little bit further back,
And then you move forward and especially at the start of the game
You always need to see how is the scale going to use his knife, right?
If you watch them before you can see what is what his antics are what is his preference to how to use his knife is something that
Every team every coach will do on a set, right?
But this one for the coach the moment they go into the lobby then if you say it's scale
All right, we sit back a little bit much

Are they throwing flashes early? Are they throwing knives early? What are they doing? And then we adjust for me
I didn't see that type of approach from Fossil.
The thing is it's not fundamentally different from Ascent.
It's a three lane map. They play very similarly.
They knife the mains to be able to wrestle control on the attacking side and follow it up with the secondary initiator utility at times.
Or similar to what you would see Jet, run up mid with the fast mid play where you, you know,
you throw your cloud burst and you go fast up mid with a KO flash.
You saw the same thing from the way they KO flash over the top of mid activate the refract and dash in.
If there's a stack there, you get full information, you can pivot back to either main and go for a fast site hit because you can just refract away, or you take mid control pretty much for free.
In fact, I think this combination is a key part of this.

because it's a good example again with this comp the comp struggles to get

space but like not too much space they're gonna work for it. If you don't really fully commit to
actual fights then it's hard for them to get anything on a tank. Paper X, they're more of like a trap
play, fight areas kind of team on defense themselves so that's kind of what you want when you play one
of these comps. So in terms of like style matchup it's actually pretty good for G.E.
Especially when they play comps like this and their split comp.

So to be able to put both of them into a good position, Patman rather needs to make sure that he's going in as well with the Sage,
Javi needs to be kind of close to autumn to be able to throw his paranoia and then teleport into the site

And before that they're getting picked off by the operator and they're getting picked off by the Odin as well
I mean that's the thing the other alternative to that is you contact and you try to look for picks

all-puff ASAP and that made it very very hard for GE to play a contact heavy

the sage wall it's a bit of an on-the-fly sage wall which gets broken quickly
followed up with that is the slow orb and then the rotations come in from a
seas get thrown out here for crystal further stalling this bush and by the
time paper X even make it up elbow and actually kick this one off you've got
both an homing and a waylay on the rotation to dump their paranoia as
well as the saturate so despite all of this investment and how far paper X
are able to scale up they're running into 4 GE players with counter
utility already ready yeah one of the oldest counters in the book since of
the start of Valorant is Phoenix doesn't like playing against Sage Phoenix
does not like playing against the Odin so you're going to have a hard time on
this clip as well this is something just this pretty cool that is new to
Valorant we have our boy Vito here he's throwing it through his YouTube
there so it just eats up all of the Phoenix flashes and it's just so
awkward for PepperX to kind of do something yeah but just back to the
original point it is so difficult for Peverix to play that attack side because
they are trying to run through all the sage util there's a veto that they need to

comp is going to have their issues as well exactly but I want to point out
also the two waylays yeah what the head to head with the two duelists here
Well, this was a double Wei Lei debut, so we wanted to kind of hold them up side by side with each other.
You could see both of them very heavily investing in the op on defense side,
and both had a fair bit of success.
Their first kills and first deaths pretty even between both of them as well.
I think some of that's going to come down to finding some opening success on defense,
but then on the attack side, particularly for Autumn, maybe less so for something.
They need to be that dive agent, and that's where you see actually in Pacific,
a lot of players who play Waelai sometimes get a terrible start to the game on the attacking side when they play it.

But the attack side also kind of wants a Viper at times to put more pressure.
You can walk behind your wall and then the operator can just pick you up every time.
It's a little harder for the Odin to know where to spam as well.
Just putting a little bit more pressure also helps for your attack side.

Yeah for sure, I mean another excellent game from Patman, plus 14 overall, definitely the standout
player in the server despite the fact that he's not playing the OMIN, he put up such great numbers
on, so you know, still playing the controller, but you know, we know that Viper is well within
his wheelhouse, he used to play it on Icebox and back in the Filipino scene as well, so
Matt's putting in a shift every single time he plays Breeze, another 300 ACS game for him,
and PaperX, I mean I don't know what I expected but like I'm so surprised that
they looked at their results on this map and thought we don't need to change
anything on Breeze, like I wouldn't have even mind a Vibe comp, you know how like
I feel like PaperX used to be that team that I would hear about them it's
like I just felt like playing Rain of this game you know and I just locked
it in and like I would have liked that better than this, I'm not gonna lie.
The competition is getting stronger and it's getting harder and harder to be
able to do those vibe comps and to be fair to credit to some to pay for x a
little bit I do think they got a little bit unlucky against T1 they did have
the 1v2 where they lost and the round right after the loss a 1v3 as well so
I do think they got a little bit unlucky against T1 and the Breeze didn't
deserve to look as poor as it did against T1 and there were signs of
life there so I could see why they picked it in this one but they needed
to look a little bit better than this unfortunately because of course we're

the jet we're expecting to see first skills and entries into site and then
capitalizing off that afterwards but unfortunately we didn't get to see it

I do think this comp, right, if you aren't going to make a change to a comp, let's say if you don't have a lot of time,
I quite like this comp in terms of plug-in and play.

chamber face pretty pretty standard right on a lot of the maps right especially
when you want to play the breeze and the neon is an agent that's really good at
adjusting to things right it's quite hard to put in your strat book in the
valor plan usually at least for me neon it does not have a exact this is where
your wall go this is where your stun go I very rarely will put neon neutral
because neon is all about reacting to what you're seeing right and then it's
over for crystal which is very comfortable so in terms of a plug in
playing sage is also one of those agents where it's not too bad to always just put in the sage there

play and not have too many hours of time and then split so that's the thing about win it's it
wasn't you know heroic it wasn't like spectacular moments here um it was like a very reliable
competitive working well against paper rex and honestly the other strategy is paper rex is
use an outlaw and then you'll get like five browns guaranteed it's just

It's only human to want to win right off the bat and do well, but a little bit of, you know, hurdles to get over.
So how do you feel about this week's performance and about this win?
I mean obviously I'm very happy that we're still in the tournament. I mean the last two matches against T1 and R2, we felt like we weren't playing like ourselves.
But now I think we're getting into the groove again and becoming more confident in each other and also ourselves.
We kind of showed it today and hopefully we get better day by day.
First, in the two games against T1 and RLQ, we didn't have a good style for paper X, and if we didn't get the flow, we would have gotten the flow through this game, and we could have gotten to know what we wanted to do, and we could have gotten to the game, so it was a great experience.
You have to get used to the new team, and now it seems like you guys are juggling multiple new comps.
So what can you tell us about the level of teamwork and the executes coordination and also what's it like to be the initiator for the maybe the most chaotic team in the world?
I mean the past few weeks we've been like really trying our best to like practice like basic communication and like teamwork because the past two weeks we've been lacking in that and I think today we should like we can be better at that.
