do I see but the person sitting directly next to me is a girl who has
has a purse there on it is a little key chain with Smoggy, a plushie version of Smoggy.
She's going to be here cheering for EDG later today.

forever ago, 1300 days, but it was just earlier this year when they made playoffs for the first time.
When they qualified for their first global event, it was only 20 days ago, they lifted their first-ever trophy,
and today they play in their first-ever champion.
Now their squad, back in 2023, the beginning of franchise was completely different.
They had big names like Teccher, Monyet, even Benkai, the following year.

But it's a champ stage, it's a new beginning, and I feel like there's also a difference between Vitality on the global stage and the regional stage.

I do believe that we wouldn't deserve to play right now, and also it's in our heads to be improved after a failure at Stage 2.

Sayonara is he isn't like your average 18 year old coming onto the scene
He's playing an info initiator and we see so often players that are his age go and follow the duelist archetype

Yeah, I don't need a neon to buff my stats and make me look like he goes
He's gonna do it anyway since he became eligible and and joined the team back in stage one
He has been on fire and to me what has impressed me so much is how
Intelligently, I think he chooses the fights that he takes first of all
He's the number three rated player in EMEA
But then when you look deeper at stuff like his KD number two in the league behind
Narrate and then you look around him. What are the agents that people are playing? It's all the duelists
It's all the chamber players and I think on top of that too his first kill first death
He's absolutely absurd and that's what you need when you're playing the role of scout initiator
That's what I'm talking about about taking smart fights
He's not just going in using his insane skill to take every opening tool
He's intelligent about when he goes for the play

He's the pinnacle of like a textbook info initiator that you want to see there some info initiators that kind of tow the line of
Aggression you'll see they have like ten first engagements over a series
But if you look at the most recent series where they lost versus fireflux
He had one first engagement that he won by the way like that is as textbooks as it gets
He's playing clearly to a very good system team vitality has laid out for him
And I'm really excited to see him play out here today

chaos with that and screw them up. Now I am kind of curious who's going to be
cheering for who in the very first matchup because we don't have a Chinese
team play in the first match up today so let's take a look at our predictions
and the global power rankings powered by AWS for today and I got GE EDG are we
split on this desk here I mean there's a vitality but I feel like the sensible
option is GE why are we going vitality I don't know and I was watching their
vans I feel like I really resonated more with how they kind of laid out
their structure. And also, if I'm going to be completely honest, I wasn't feeling super
inspired from some of the comms that I heard from GE. I think that team vitality, it's
a night and day difference when you listen to their comms. They're a little bit more
jovial, very, very constructive, and also very efficient to the point. And I think
on a stage like this, at the international stage, players like Chronicle and Durka,
their composure and their presence is going to be able to take them across the finish
line.

difference between these two squads.
Sure, but also they just played on a big stage comparable to this one to lift that
Pacific Trophy. I think they're coming in with a completely unique take on the meta.

one that is going to make a dent here on the global stage.

coming from stage two and there's something about younger squads who are so
hungry so desperate for that win. We see that happen with Lev over in Masters
London. I think that could full well happen today. So I think we're ready to

GE dropped the coach that made this roster and left us all doubting.
But now they're back as specifics number one, which is a wild contrast to how he makes Superteam qualified back into champs.

It absolutely is. Both teams coming in very different directions, but we've got to start off this series on a diss.
Now when I look at this map pool, things get crazy on each map.
Vitality cannot come in and prep for one style of global esports.
I think when you look across the field here at Champions, every team is carved in a specific identity.
the majority of their maps, you have some of the more double-dualous teams, sometimes you have double senties.
Public Spots are going to play different identity on every map. On a list, they play double-dualous.
On a set, they play the Sage and the Chamber. And when you get to Summit, they play double scout initiator
with the Stato and the Sky. They are such a unique, fun team to watch, and I can't wait to kick it off.
And I think you can kind of see Glimpse into that. Even when you look at what Patman played in their last game,
of the best of five grand final in Pacific.
He played five different agents and they weren't even like anywhere close to the same thing.
Sky, Raze, Fade, O'Lay, O'Lay, like, it's insane the level of ground they cover,
but you could make the argument here that this year has been defined by teams having a singular team identity.
Right, you look at Nongshim at the very beginning of the year, very clear that double duelist that Yoru and the Neon.
Second, we have left that Phoenix really defines so many of their compositions and that double duelist style.
Here, is it gonna work against them to have to reinvent themselves on every map or will the
gimmicky
surprise factor go towards their favor?
And for me of the real test for global e-sports is to be able to use these different ideas
to disrupt the calm styles of rounds that Vitality want to be able to play.
You know Vitality is stacked with Talon.
You've got two of the goats in Durkan and Fran,
where the Jersey get one of the strongest
rising stars in the Sionara as well on this team.
If they're able to play their style of game,
slow round, methodical rounds where they choose
very intelligent fights to go after, Vitality win.
But global eSports are never gonna let Vitality
get away with that.
Yeah, Amel, I wanna get your thoughts
on the change of a coaching staff midway through.
A lot of a business ideas came from fraud.
So with the swap halfway through,
Do you think this is going to be a problem for GE?
I think it's entirely dependent on players' comfort, right?
I have a lot of respect for Platoon.
I think he gets a lot of, not to say flat,
but a lot of question marks and doubts around his name
as like a YouTuber coach, but you got to give it to him.
He made it to champs fair and square,
so you have to respect his view
on the givenness philosophy.
My question mark around the coach though,
is when you get to champions, things will go wrong.
Not a single team in history will tell you
things went perfectly according to plan at any tournament, especially at one as
important as champs. What I'm looking for is can he bring the team together in
those hard moments? Can they keep composure the same way that Chronicle and
Durga have proven they've been able to do in their champs wins before and in
their master's wins before? Excuse me. This is Platoon's first international
event as the head coach. So you're absolutely right. This is something
to keep our eye on and that's a huge contrast to Powell who has so many
years of experience. Yeah, I mean as part of this super team equation right
vitality stacked to the deck when they put this squad together coming into the
year and I think in a lot of ways they've been waiting for that promise to
be fully delivered on here. In a similar sense of GE, waiting to be able to lift a
trophy and go through their list of firsts and now be on the champ stage.
Vitality expect more. They've expected more all year long and it's finally
time to either put up or shut up. And this is the question we're wondering the agent
comps you know it's on on the way. Well I'm really looking at what vitality is
going to be running because they were not playing neon. This is not an agent that
Durka loves to go after. Actually they played the way. Plus Yoru and the pivoted
to Durka on the jet where I think he's looked incredibly good in the past.
Like I go back to Bangkok with his ace on the jet on this map tearing it up.
But it's going to be something he needs to tap into today,
because this map has been close.
It's been close against Challenger's teams over in the NBA.
And I'm really looking at the Yampi Yoru versus Autumn,
because I've been on record saying,
I'm not a big fan of IGL's playing Duelist.
But in my mind, if there was ever a Duelist
that IGLs can thrive on, it is Yoru.
This is giving me shades of when Ethan played Yoru
back on Pearl for EG in 2023.
I feel like Yoru can really be played
as some sort of pseudo initiator,
especially now in the current meta where he doesn't have a ton of you till
everything has to be calculated, but against the player like Autumn,
who has so many reps and he doesn't have that weight of having to call for
the team on his shoulders. I think that matchup is really cool to watch.
Now we have the question about who the crowd is going to support today.
I still am not sure, but one thing is for sure is that stadium is
completely packed. They are ready to dive into a business.
So are our casters, Naperthin and Akilios.
There is a lot to be excited about as we get ready to go into this matchup.
Dirk up back over on that, Jaddyampi leading for the front lines on tomorrow and Autumn back
on Chinese soil had played back in Masters Shanghai, Phil shy of making it into the playoffs.

I think he has very good insights and stuff and I think I learn a lot from that.

It's a little bit of a mouse issue.
So hopefully, we'll be ready to rock and roll very quickly.
But just got to give a shout out to Yampi here.
The desk was talking about it before we came into the map
that it is kind of an orthodox approach
to a valorant game when you run your IGL on Duelist,
but he has been leading from the front 11 and 10,
topping the charts right now for Vitality.
So hats off to Yampi.
Had some great ideas in there, that sneak play
where he got to put a top mid and got a double,
was a beautiful, brilliant, absolutely incredible work
so far here.
Some great individual plays, some great reads.
Once they kind of got an idea of the tempo
and the style that global eSports wanted to do,
They were able to punch back, shut it down.
And then, again, for me, the biggest thing here for Vitality
was they dragged the momentum.
They dragged the pace into their hands.
That made it really difficult for GE.
Now, global e-sports here, if you're
going to have a little bit of copium, the fall process is,
well, it's a miss.
Usually, attackers side it.
And this is where you can set your own tempo.
This is where you can dictate the base.
You can play that in a faster style if you want.
You don't have to, global e-sports doesn't always.
They can be a little bit more methodical,
a little bit.
One of those teams that will drag out the clock in some rounds
over at Pacific.
So we've seen some of them come down to the wire.
Javi does like to kind of take his time.
So it's just something to kind of think about as we go on.

rounds got a little bit sloppy from Vitality, and they were completely in the driver's seat,
and good on them to be able to walk in and maintain it, because they go up to a tear
in this map of the best.

The coach touched on it a little bit there, but I think in a way, it's the
round that he was talking about, the one where they use the asphalt a little late,
then you see how big it the 4k.
I do want to say, I think that mistake comes out of a attempt
of the pursuit of perfect valorant,
where they were up 4v2 in that situation,
and they didn't want to blow all their ults to convert
a 4v2 because defense grounds are so hard to get on a bus.
So I think in a way, they're so silver lining there
because I think that was an intentional mistake,
I suppose.

You don't really know what they're gonna be pulling out because they are so flexible per individual player
But on the other side vitality what they displayed on this map was a deeper playbook
So I think we're gonna dive into that a little bit later, but hobby absolutely stepping up on the master
Yeah, I mean he was looking good on that unfortunately couldn't convert at the end
I think for me I was I was really impressed with the way the vitality
Paced themselves through the attacking side because in very typical
Vitality fashion so many of those rounds were a lot slower early on from vitality or eating up so much of the cloth
Trying to catch global e-sports sleeping at the wheel
But then we got into this round nine situation right after vitality plant the spike with one second remaining
He immediately wants a quick fight up mid, so it starts off with the Astral, and they're
going to try and fake a split into the A site, but the entire idea is to set up Yampi to
lurk up through mid.
So while his team is making tons of noise working up into A Heaven, he jumps past this
wall to all masks the noise on the drop as well.
It's a little deeper than you might need to put down.
He sits in this position, waiting, knowing that the rotate as Global try to run in
and bolster up the A site are easy pickings for him to find.
just so it just shows such a deep understanding of the map here from team vitality because this is
a very map specific detail and agent specific detail the ultimate combination with the musing
the fact they can't hear you on the other side of that wall so you can get that mid lurk maneuver
it's so good really in play and on top of that because they get those v players rotating those
the players they kill they never even exec the A site they just cut back to to B because
nobody's home anymore uh y'all here already got the kills yeah in fact uh y'all P I think
I think this is an undercontrast between the two teams.
We didn't get to touch upon Yankee too much coming in during this team were perfect,
but his experience compared to the IGL on the other side of Javi, his first champs ever.
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of calling moments that are really contrasting here on the first map of champs.

I think we're just trying to stay true to ourselves, but just that first map, they got the better of us.

that they weren't playing their best on a best.
Going into the set now, going into GE's pick, obviously we're expecting hopefully different results.
Yeah, I mean, I'd love to see them continue with what's been working for global esports on this map of a set
of a cent because while the first map I think is a different style to other maps
that global play it's pretty in the wheelhouse the most meta comps now when
we go on to a cent it's not like no one is playing the sage chamber but I think
sage chamber isn't super popular on this map in particular global gonna be
slowing things down and opening themselves up to play a little bit more
of that vitality style from map one.
And I think a big myth of the comp that GE runs is people see the double senty and their brains immediately go to
This must be deep inside it, but actually GE loves playing ascent and what that means is when they pick it
They're always going to start attack and their attack win rate is incredible on this map in my experience
Having played this comp before you would be shocked at how much value the sage can give you on the attack
Walling off the chokes with a split
It gives you a lot of options and a lot of surprise factor with the wall in the main or walling over the ending
It's way easier to use your your rez
as it's easier to get kills than targets you want.
The slower blind ups, you're exacting into a site,
stopping a player from popping a flash outside of market
and attacking when you, when you come in,
that stage is super flexible.
Well, I can't wait to dive into a scent
as we send it back to our casters,
Akilios and Paper Thin.

We got a full series on her hands, baby, it looks really good, really interesting between
the two squads where they had mirror columns except the Euro Neon, which we'll dive into
a bit later, but we had some great moments, including from Yampi, who almost said that
reverse sweep.
Oh, Megan, Degroo was so close to it, I thought Yampi had it for just a second, but ultimately
it seemed like Patman wanted it just that much more.
This guy was playing out of his freaking mind, starting all the way back in that round
two clutch, but he didn't let that performance drop off for even a moment through that
map.
He kept full momentum, full speed on the gas the entire game, and I'd love to
see that as an open player as well, to take over on a map on a sense, especially
is so difficult on the omen. Normally you see that kind of performances from actually
your soba players or your doles players, but now it was the Pat Men show the entire
time. Such a treat to watch.
There's something about Pat Men. He gets activated in moments where you really need
him. The Pat signal comes on and then he comes online and does everything in his power.
So we could see that happening from both him and Yam Pita. Now we talked a bit about
this before we went into this match about Yuritan, Yuritan, your guy, your favorite
Korean player for the tournament and hit the contrast of him versus Neon.
Yeah, I'm still setting Tentos down that I think he will be the best performing Korean player at this tournament.
And although the stats aren't insane for them, I'll be honest, I think when you watch the game
and you look at the difference between the duelist kit and piloting from Udohton versus Dirk on the Yoru,
it is a night and day difference. When you're on the Yoru, on that single duelist,
you have no survivability. When you are able to hit a site, every detail must be perfect.
but in Uniton's hands, he used Neon perfectly to break out of those jokes and use the kit so well.
And he'll give him his props as well because he's been playing well going back to map 1.
Also on the wayway, I think he's been consistent across these two maps looking forward to determining map 3.
He's going to step up even that much more, especially presuming that Global moves back to their double scout comp.
Yeah, this is going to be really interesting actually if Global ends up sticking with the double initiator with Tejo of all agents.
But they never cease to surprise us here.
But then also with Yampi potentially going back on the duelist role.
I think that anything is possible.
But if we remain the course, yeah,
seeing the sky and the tail for me is the biggest moment for us to look at.
Like that, these are two agents that you never see.
Honestly, you can make the argument that four of the agents that you see normally
from G are so off meta for this map.
So it's going to be a treat to watch.
And it's really going to put team vitality's experience to the test.
Yeah, honestly, that's the weird thing, looking at this map pool, because, well, global played different comps across all three of these maps.
The first two maps felt pretty standard to what Vitality was actually playing.
We're almost mirror comps in that sense.
This is the first time that we were finally going to see globals sort of out there ideas really play up against Vitality,
and this is what Vitality had to have been preparing for once they drew global and knew they were going to face them today.
I do wonder what kind of craziness we are going to be getting from Summit.
from a cent just now. We did see Vitality do a little bit of an equal Avengers wall.
Moments over on me. I did work out but it was cool. It almost worked. It almost worked.
So I do, I am excited to see what happens on 7 and now we did have our predictions early
on. I think Mal, you went for Vitality and we went for Global Eastward. So how are
you guys feeling now that we're heading into MF3?
It's tough one to call at this point. The summit with the weird compositions.
It's always good for at least one game. Whenever I see it, it can be a comp like
I would love to play that person the second time they play it never the first because you never know what could go wrong
There's a lot of things you could run into that you don't experience in practice
You're a lot of teams and coaches always say the same adage do what we do in scrims
But what can they lean on when they play against a comp that's so far out of the ordinary and all they have is footage
Honestly, what I'm thinking about is your 10 saying that we both had had both teams stepping out here right on the other side of the
camera team liquid sign vitality so I'm looking at y'all thinking like 2023 I'm
back in I'm back in the days he's on TL no vitality they walk out stoic I didn't
I didn't see a single player say a word to each other they are dialed in
absolutely hard-wired focus great to take this third now yeah that is actually
another thing we need to talk about is the experience different between these
two squads between the IJL between the coaches and generally all the players
by telling no how to mental reset coming into map 3 they want to win
in this right first match.
We've been talking about momentum over the past three days.
You want to win out that first match off chance
to feel comfortable going in and make
a really good first impression.
And to me, it's a really big moment
to have the discussion of what I mentioned earlier at Champs.
It really, at the end of the day,
Valor is such a crazy game that it is incredibly
difficult to meet that perfect expectation.
When you are at Champs, especially for your opening
match, it is about the team that
can make the least mistakes.
And for the team that does how
to bounce back and maintain composure.
And like you said, when we saw them walk out,
they were looking stoic,
and if experience tells the story here,
it should be in favor of team Vitality.
Yeah, honestly, that's why I'm kind of,
I predict a global coming in here,
but I'm not so sure anymore,
because the way even that Vitality lost that last map,
I think they're looking at a few of those late rounds
so they could have very easily gone the other way.
Even just one different trade coming in
that shuts down Patman out around,
this could be a different story.
This could be Vitality already walking back
with a 2-0 victory over their hands.
But it is still that wild part of the cop factor
on the other side that gives me that doubt here
as to whether or not Vitality can bring it home.
Yeah, I think there's that and heroics
that could possibly come out from Global Esports.
And here the console looks like Global Esports
are sticking to the veto and the double units.
I also mentioned it earlier,
but there are so many things
that Team Vitality is gonna have to deal with.
There's so many layers of newness,
of gimmickness to this cop.
And GE is sticking by it, which means they're standing on Christmas.
They do not think this is a one-off.
They're continuing to use it into champs.
So really interested to see the adjustments
that Team Vitali comes out with here.
And honestly, why did Global use this comp?
Because they run a very similar thing on Lotus sometimes.
With the double scout, it means they can group up
and fight really heavily as a pack early in rounds
and then still spread out after that first fillet of utility.
And they still have a drone.
They still have a Skydog to make sure
that no one on the other team
is able to get into an active lurking position.
It leaves almost no gaps on their map in the mid-round.
It is only late into rounds in which they
are starved of utility without a dedicated senty, hard senty,
especially once that veto utility gets clear.

In Summit, we know widely what to anticipate from global eSports,
but Vitality has mentioned before they've only had to play this once.
Yeah, and it is even a little bit of a change for them.
I mean, Chronicle on the Neon, Yampi on the Phoenix here.
So it is kind of like a bit of a different style
for Chronicle today.
He's had to play a lot of different roles,
a lot of different styles.
But this Phoenix could be interesting to see
if they could find some value on it,
see if they can deal with this double initiator composition
that Global Esports has been piloting on this map
to great effect.
They have some great wombo combos.
They have some tremendous ability
to kind of play off of those drones,
use them to either gain info or kind of put you
on the back foot in the fight.
It's going to be vitality starting on the attacker side
using this dart to clear some space early.
Hobby trying to see if he can get anything out
of that initial push.
Not going to happen.
Crystal ready with the salvos if this is going to be a committed
hit, but that dog cleared in mid.
That's going to keep global eSports a little more curious
about what's going on in other parts of the map
as they try to clear a little bit of space.
Chronicle does get tagged up there as they try to scale their way through for a B crunch.
Shutting one of the doors to split now, getting ready to come through towards B.

And now it looks like Vitality may be considering a pivot,

That is a big win for Vitality, no matter how you slice it.
You're also going to have Yampi's ult here.

but you're looking to try to use that run it back
to open up some space, some pre-spam.
Looking for some of those aggressive plays
that GE likes to put in towards mid with all those drones.
You'll see them constantly cut a Poggey product,
but Durka finds the opener on the autumn.

were going to be able to kind of mirror some of that success we saw on Abyss on their attacker's
side to start the map off.

It's gonna be loud taking on EDG victory here back alongside Ender and now we've
already started the day with a crazy match house of this first series ended
was so close it almost went into overtime and I'm thinking this next match could be very similar. Oh yeah I mean that was an insane appetizer and already just during the interview
EDG and Cloud start walking out to the stage and the place goes absolutely nuts. We are in for an absolute treat now. The atmosphere in here is electric. I can't imagine this game isn't going to meet the expectation and deliver.
Yeah, I mean for those of you who are just tuning in it's gonna be lot of versus EDG
It's gonna be crazy now
We got two teams who have held that champs trophy at some point, but it's very very different right for loud
This is back in 2022 and for EDG is in 2024 champs
So loud roster has completely changed since and con con of course
Hometown legend returning to the stage who want it all over in Seoul
Yeah, I mean, you can't not be excited for Kong Kong to now have a chance trying to lift that trophy here in China

But I do want to say I feel like their recent performance has done nothing but light of fire
underneath him because he has been dethroned domestically in statistics by a swagzor
and Nova and slowly on Tyloo.
And I'm sure that doesn't sit right with them because in all her eyes, he is like
the older brother of the region.

You know you've already been there to the top and if you keep losing especially in your own region is extremely frustrated now

Stu has been through the ringer. This is the guy that has played
Professionally valorant for ages, you know the name you know time
I'm concerned if you didn't remember that he played like five minutes ago. It's that's man
He was playing with Stu, but I think Stu's story it really begins in 2023 with rare
and where he fought with this team to be runners up in Ascension,
failed to qualify, and ultimately got the call up to the next year.
That promise that was there, JDG decided,
let's bring him into the roster, let's give him a chance.
And he's been with that JDG team for two years,
playing all the way up until stage one this year.
He'd been the newest for the team.
But then after some middling results, they decide,
okay, let's see if he's going to be the control of Guy for us.
That didn't really work out and he left the team most stage one now
He thought his year was over all of a sudden that phone rings edg want him to play a chance now
This is gonna be a huge one
I'm really curious how stew is feeling ahead of match to match you up today
So Mika fabs did have a chance to catch him with them earlier. Let's see what he has to say
Mika here with Gen. Lee and EDG's latest addition, Stu. So Stu, I'm sure everybody is wondering
how quickly you're able to just go into the team and how quickly you're able to integrate
within the team.
How quickly did you get used to E-DG and how did you get used to the process of getting used to E-DG?
First of all, I didn't have much time, so I think I tried hard to get used to E-DG's team members losing the map.

Yep, new as a member of EDG, but I think the addition of him onto the EDG roster makes so much sense.
It helps EDG play into the meta that's currently happening.
I think a big question for a lot of people is why make this change now and why for Janney.
And I think the biggest picture thing I can really relate this to is the fact that initiator players have been getting destroyed this year.
this year. If you were in that flex spot and you were a breach player, a KO player,
this year's meta has not been good for you. What Stu has that Jenny lacks is that
proficiency in that second duelist role. He can flex onto roles that are much
more preferred in this meta and I think you're gonna see him be a great fit as
a supporting cast at Hong Kong. Yeah, I mean he's got the flexibility, right?
Long-term duelist player, but recently had been practicing the controller
war role for JDG, but what I think is almost poetic coming in to this
tournament is the fact that his year would have been such as like is such a
sour taste for him right when you play with JDG get dropped from the roster and
then watch them going to be the second best team of the region they go to
chance they do all of this without you after you were franchise player with
them for a couple of years but now with the chance to play for EDG the team
that got knocked out of play and by his former squad he gets to play on that
same stage and try and live up to tonight there must be a huge fire
are lit under this guy right now to want to prove himself,
especially with the squad.
And now he's back on a comfort role, presumably with EDG,
to be able to play with Hong Kong on the server there.
But over on the other side, we have a really hot team as well.
It's probably one of the youngest rosters here in Champions,
and that's Loud.
And they qualified in front of the home crowd in Brazil
for the America's finals not too long ago.
Yeah, this is just a ridiculous story for Loud.
And I think in a lot of ways there are parallels to the success of Levy-A-Thon
early in the year out of Americas where it's so much of this incredibly young talent
coming out from Americas, playing with a very singular identity to the way they want to play.
I think their style could not be more different from Levy-A-Thon, but their success has been
following similar trajectories.
We've talked about already time and time again this year.
being defined by having a strong team identity and loud is exactly the team to fit the bill.
I think they could absolutely make a deep run in this playoffs and it would start versus EDG
right here against the home crowd. Yeah, I think loud there, their story could not be
more different, their situation could not be more different after being in front of their home
crowd back in Brazil and falling just shy in game five. They played back to back full best
of 5s to only lose by two rounds in overtime that five to hundred thieves. That was with the crowd behind them.
Now they have to come here where the crowd is going to be anything but Brazilian.
It's really interesting as well because of course this roster is really young and the rookie ideal
Erda is one of the players who hard-carried loud in many rounds to secure their spot here.
I mean Erda played one of the best tournaments in playoffs.
that weekend in Brazil was absolutely ridiculous and again he's not doing it
on a duelist position but this guy was single-handedly leading the charge for
a loud not just putting up the numbers in the server but he's also the IGL for the
team and now that is a ridiculous feat to have. I cannot sing Erde's crazy loud
enough and as I say that all the EDG fans are going crazy in the venue.
Yeah, by the way, all that happened was Kong Kong stood up.
That's all that happened.
Not just sitting up, but they got so low.
He didn't even do anything to the crowd.
Yeah, they're going against the next man in the crowd, for sure.
Erde, though, is he impresses me on so many levels,
but what really gets to me is his maturity as a leader,
and he's going to have to really stand on business against this crowd.
They are so loud, but I think everything for him
has proven to be a learning moment.
You can tell he has so much poise.
when he speaks about his team, when he speaks about his wins and his losses, it really resonates
how mature of a player he is.
When he just turned 18 this year and he's calling and he's cracking.
There's nothing I can really say more than I can only just hype him up, honestly.
I mean, we saw it similar with Lev over in Masters London, something about like the
youthfulness of it of just being able to enjoy the moment and not letting the pressure.
You know, even the crowd gets you too much, but we will have to wait and see about
that. Loud does have one slight advantage maybe with Breeze being out of the pool.
For sure. I mean I think Loud of course there are a few things going for them and one is like
you say EDG losing their Breeze. Now EDG this is about the day we're absolutely loving back in
VCTCN and it's worth reminding everyone at home that China never played on the Abyss patch back
domestically. This is something that EDG did not have in their real life. Didn't get to
show on the stage. Now that said, even if they lose one of their preferred maps and have to play
something we haven't seen in a while, EDG have not played on a stage in a month and a half
because they went out so early in plans. They have had so much time here to craft things up,
heading in now to this turning. There really are two different sides to this argument, right?
We just saw Team Vitality's profit just say the difference between them and GE was time.
They had the time to prepare and that's what took them over the finish line in the last matchup here
You're describing they have a month and a half to prep on a map that wasn't available to them
But at the same time what I value as a player and as an IGL is the ability to get those matchups loud has many of those on a
Biss I've seen the countless abyss from them fighting through the playoffs lower bracket into the grand finals
So it's really gonna be a matchup of well the experience matchups matter more over the prep and the surprise factor that you
get from having a month and a half in advance.
And will EDG be able to fill out that pool?
Because the unknown, I said, abyss,
but it's also summit, a map they only let through one time.
Never wanted to play it again after that.
So this is a team that is going to have to bolster
up their map pool against the Loud, as you say,
that has very clearly demonstrated
they can play a wide swath of maps
with 10 games played over two days in that final weekend.

preparation? Yeah, that
didn't affect me too much.
But as you said, we were
in Brazil, so we know how
he's playing with the crowd.
but now we are playing against the heroes of the China,
so I'm very excited to play against them.

about, it's Luke's show.
Throughout the year for Loud,
he's been so integral to this team.
Yeah, and ever since he joined the squad,
promoted back to the tail half of 2025. You knew that this was the next kid on the block.
Lucho was absolutely flying back then on a team that didn't really amount to much, right? But in
2026, this stage to run from loud, Lucho has been nothing short of incredible. In particular,
his play on the chamber has been legendary in America. This guy is putting up some of the
the best numbers we have seen since Prime Yay on the agent and now to have
Kong Kong sitting against him on the other side to go up against a legend of
the scene. What a welcome to champs. This is such an insane matchup. Honestly,
when I view Luke show, I view it through the lens of he's kind of that new gen
flood of players that we're getting into Valorant that are coming up on the
rise for the past two years. Like you said, Blaug didn't amount to much
last year, but still his individual prowess. He made a name for himself
even until halfway through this year,
until stage two when the loud roster changes came in.
Loud wasn't doing anything,
but I think with this collection of players
under Erday's leadership as well,
they've been actually able to activate
and use the advantage they have by having Luke show
and convert it into wins.
And it's so exciting to see him play
against a former world champion in Hong Kong.
Yeah, I think it is incredibly exciting
for them to be able to do this.
Now with the changes with Stu coming onto this roster
versus a very allowed that you guys are definitely
How do you find these teams matching up today and maybe perhaps your predictions again?
Honestly for me, I think there's a case we made to have absolutely zero faith in EDG after failing to make it out of plans.
But I think there's also a case we made for having blind faith in EDG to sew up to the stage in China here with the history at their backs.
But for me, I think I have to lean aloud based on their recent run in Sao Paulo.
this team was firing on all cylinders.
I saw a full package out of this roster.
They've got the star power.
They've got the calling.
They've got the hunger.
I think they've got it in them
to make a super deep run of this turn.
I completely agree with you.
I feel like so many hearts have been captured by Lau.
I've had the pleasure of following them
through their entire run in Stage 2
and into America's playoffs.
They have everything, all the firepower.
I think every single player in this roster
can hold their own.
There is not a single weak link,
and it makes them so exciting to watch,
but you cannot count EDG out and I just can't wait for this game to start.
There's one thing for sure, we ran into EDG a little bit earlier
and we do know EDG, especially Kong Kong, gets activated
when there is a crowd behind him and I cannot dismiss that at all.

I think this is going to be so sick, Chris. It seems like right now both of these teams are strong.
They have a similar map pool. So whatever it is, I think this is going to go through this.
that's 100%. I think that ultimately this is one where EDG have so much more recent footage,
a wealth of games that allowed played in that finals weekend. Up against the EDG,
they're a little bit more of an enigma. Not only have you not seen them play in a month and half,
you've never seen them play with Stu in the roster. Do not forget that EDG are debuting
a new fifth player here on the champ stage. They made a big gamble to bring him into
the roster after bombing out in play-ins. Let's see if it's going to be the change that makes this
team a championship contender. The biggest detail I'm looking for is exactly what you said. I want
to see how Stu fits in. He is going to be the supporting cast for Kong Kong without any doubt.
If I'm going to see an agent of a person on Jett, it should be Kong Kong. But on a map like Lotus,
where there's so many different compositions, you see a lot of teams trying double duelists,
you see teams throwing in the chamber, you see some teams throwing in the chamber and the

Because by every metric, he needs to perform better than G&E
to support the argument that he should be on this team

But the way that they team fight, it just looks effortless there.

On the speed, the pace it allowed it to try to play with.

With EDG players tapped in corners, this could go horribly wrong as Cheechoo again, always seems to have a flank angle.

And this rookie just did it twice in the first eight

is on the loan from Clue Academy playing for Loud here. He's played one stage with this
Loud team and is already doing stuff like this on the global level.
This is a dream come true. You could not think of a better way to start your first
ever global event. And it is, with all due respect, like one of the greatest performances
I've seen from a debut rookie.

The map, were you impressed by this?

from Kong Kong's perspective.
And honestly, I think if this goes the way of Kong Kong,
the early half could be completely different.
This was a huge swing round.
And he'd diffuse with two HP, I think, one second left.
It was exactly what Loud needed to start that runoff.
It was the slimmest of margins.
And it was two to one in the scoreline as well.
That was the momentum shift.
on it all rolling after that and I love that we see Tixin trying to hype up the crowd as well.
Like, unironically, back in Sao Paulo, he was the Mr. Energy for a while. Like, he was getting up,
he was getting active, he was egging on the crowd and even now he's trying to keep that going for
the team. You know, why not though? And there's one thing that the Chinese audience really respects.
It is damn good play and that's what Tixin was doing. And besides the two aces, him doing
and I felt defuse, it was crazy.

But I think our protocol and everything and players' confidence was right, but we just lost our momentum and they have momentum, I think that's why we lose.
And for me, the second half was actually good, so we just lose so many rounds on the first half, that's why we lose, I think.
For the second map, we didn't show our sum many times, but during the waiting for these champions, we prepared something,
And we already know Rao is our opponent, so we tried to counter them a little bit, so I want it to work.

in that it begs the question, are they fighting for just a trophy,
fighting to get a win in front of this home crowd?
Are they fighting for a match?
Fighting to stay relevant, though, at the top of the global scene
when they are up against this talented next generation
of players.
This is a bizarre cop.
The breach of very rare pick as he tries to burst into this few sites.
Kankai isolated for a time as that Sage wall happened to split him for the rest of his team, but Refract gets him back.
Join the rest of them, and here we go. Flashpoint gets him over to the team, and it's picked it up where he left off.
But quick-double you off that sheriff, Derby somehow still alive, but nobody eventually puts him out of his misery.
It is going to have to be an ace clutch for nobody, and that is just not reasonable.
Darker just has all the audio easy catch on the cross. I don't need G who are just
feeling so incentivized to just brute force into that site, break the wall, try to get in,
get swarmed at the choke. Look at all of these loud players ready to greet them
there with sheriffs and bandits no less. So much damage going their way as
their funnel through the tiniest show point.
They're completely rinsed on that exact.

getting to move into Summit.
The last time we saw them on this map,
they handed a 13-1 loss to 100 thieves.
Obviously our eventual Stage 2 champions in America's.
Safe to say, they feel good here.

but able to take a beat there because of that cybercage,
Curing them crossing. However, a lot of the better weaponry can just start to peer in and take their frags.

And when Erde gets on the stage, something just activates within him.

It's a ridiculous stat line.
Erde comes in this, joins this team to lead them,
but individually he has brought them so much flair as well,
so much impact and he's only gotten better as the year has gone on. The stats directly reflect that.
Had a massive increase in his average damage per round when it was time for the America's playoffs
versus in the group stage. He's gotten better as the competition is elevated.
Self-thrown comes through. Wall as Kang Kang heads on over.
Once again, he isn't letting fall back and he does. Oh, hey! He's dashed aside.
Luke shows them a fall back after taking that important frag with the outlaw.
The Kangkang is still raring to go. Teeth bare into the sights. Just tanks the shot from Lucio down at 10.

just swinging on either side of default to deny land
when they were trying to get back into the site.

strong map for EDG.

Like I said, last time we saw it, it was pretty bloody underwhelming.
But they've been in the kitchen.
And they've given us initial and star serving for these four successful attack side rounds.
But there's plenty more batter to play.
There's been a tension in the air when we've watched these Chinese teams play.
The home crowd so badly, wanting one of those map wins.
The Tyloos match and XLGs match, any little kill, they were giving them the maximum support.
But today, right now, on Summit, they can believe more than ever that EDG, that one
of their representatives have a chance to take that first map and make a stride towards
winning a series, getting into the upper bracket of their group.
Reactive nightfall here, this is problematic for EDG if they want to get off the rip early.

This is really hamstrung EDG early in the round.

And so the G-team drops. Loud much in the round for them, build a bit of momentum after EDG
to punish them and we've seen a pretty distinct shift in how loud are operating these early
routes.
That's one of the first times in a minute that Loud have been able to deny EDG getting
the choke, deny them with spam. They're not getting pounced on by the stun into
the concoct dash losing that first anchoring player have they figured
something out or are they just fortunate to put the crosshairs in the right
places while edg tried to get through the show I mean he did you go back to the
A side and again they just found it but it is at nightfall off the rip let's
listen into edg now looking for a crucial attack side wind
A cloud team that are happy to get through these choke points and fight right in the yard.
Again, just deny them on the entry.
Look at where all the X's are on the map.
It's EDG players that can't get through, can't get any space.
At this point, yeah, EDG, unsurprisingly.
Don't look to work a different part of the map.
back over to what is going to be a pretty successful B-Plan they are really anticipating
some aggression in B main, Luke Show to wander just a step too far into them that's not
going to be the case he is this lone B anchor and he's happy to play this situation
possibly get out of him needs to have their one shot.
And then the team could just play to flood in afterwards.
But they're already waiting on this.
Tickazine is already in that site.

on this summit map. What do EDG have on defence? What has their time in this last month in the
lab been able to do for them here?

The two shots to the body, it's just so effective and loud, simply do not miss.
They're trying to hijack this opener game into a bloody coronation of sorts.

There's just such an obvious danger playing against Loud where they have several players who could take over any game at any given moment.

And it seemed like he would be the guy to do it, because he would be able to make sense of these EDG roles.
He could lean into running to dualists, like we saw on Lotus, have Kong Kong play the chamber while you have that solo neon.
And Stu has proven to be a very talented player in his run with JDG.
He was the most dominant dualist at the end of 2025 and the second stage in China to the extent as well that
that coach Autumn for EDG, he was trying to get him back on T1, but said that it
fell through just in the negotiation period, but has respected him as a player
for that long. You can't help but feel though, that if EDG lose and pull out
a fashion on Summit, there are going to be serious question marks as to whether
or not this is the best way to be using him on this team. This double
initiator look is something they should be bothering with at all. But it makes
the question. What team could have really stood up to this? Tick-Z and getting two aces in one map
and now having broken the record for the most aces in a international Valorant series. You can't
write this stuff. You can't account for it. You can't prepare for it. All you can do is try
and fight away to bounce back and likely that's what this overtime is about. Sure to a degree
may be strategic but more likely it's emotional. A chance to remind EDG of what's at stake.
Of how many people's hopes they are carrying as they stand at the tip of loudsword level directly at their chest folks
They take a timeout in round number 16 and they are on the precipice
I'm dropping into that lower bracket
There's that son dash from congon trying to get the catch, but he knows he can't over commit
Smog he's already down the stall you kill
Where is it supposed to come from now? A little bit from the breach maybe, but it's looking very, very bad.
They'll be just teasing at this. Dragging EDG players out of position. Happy to be more than just a nuisance.
And they know they can't get baited into taking that deep fight again.
If they cross that corner in B main, Lucho could very well be watching with that operator still.
EDG really wanted to force that play in B main. They didn't want to give it up and it's resulted in loud
getting the five on four
And a great opportunity to take this game to match points playing into the A site
What can Chichu do on site? He has a trip to play around but now he's alone
Nobody's down. Chichu no end of position to fight for his life. He was kick his in
Comfortably dispatches him
And he needs you now. Not much room for the save. They've just got to go for it.
Upheal battle. Odd stacked against you. And a sage wall in your face.
At this point, they're going to have to walk away. Collect themselves one last tilt at making this a real game.
There was once a time at the beginning of 2026, where Romanilly was having to apologize to the loud fans
for the poor performances from this team and promising that he will be able to bring them back to the top.

enough to get to keep playing the game.

put them away.
Conker's gotten an up to hand here. My own playing noncommittally off that B side behind
a lot of cypher utility. The loud get to help themselves to this space in mid. Keep
their options open into the mid-route.
Something that Loud have displayed consistently throughout their run to get here is an ability
to control the pace of the game.
Erde knows when to call the fast executes and he understands how to slow things down
and work the map effectively in the mid-rounds aspect of the game that has made them so
dynamic and so tough to play against when you're on defense.
Yeah, it's that nightfall. No ability to get off the site.
Here for ADG. Stooge just peels off.
Rolling Thunder comes in just off an intuition and it doesn't connect with anyone on loud.
They snip back, they're respected.
Tixi now gets either the action or their body.
Sue early on, the overdrive is cut short, but Darker has dealt with the Omen.
Luke's job is low.
This is still plenty though for Loud to work with.
His Khan Khan is still on his way over here and Darker knows exactly what's waiting around the corner.

More than being the ones that dispatch Leviathan and put them out of the competition, they carry
their hopes with them.
