there were women that were enjoying benefits from being in a sexual relationship with people
that worked in the games media industry. And in the process of that, those women received
preferential treatment and, you know, basically they received positive reviews for their content.
This was not disclosed, it wasn't made obvious to anybody, right?
And so what happened is that everybody started criticizing this, and then all of the criticism
for this was then reframed around, because it was criticism towards these women primarily,
because they're the ones that are initiating this and the benefactors of it.
It was leveraged, and also the journalists that were involved too, but mainly the women.
They, well, they reframed it as like, well, this is, you're just, you just hate them
them because they're women, right? Like, that was it. And it had nothing to do with that
really. It didn't. I mean, it did in a way, right? Because, like, I mean, women were able
to do this because of the fact that they were women. But in a general sense, that's
what it was. It got the game to kick this off. Yeah, it was called Depression Quest.
I remember the whole thing. I remember everything about it. But, like, I'm getting the abbreviated
version. So it was Hose Madgate. Yeah, it was. We all suffer because a bunch of
hoses couldn't keep their legs closed. No, it was also a bunch of synths couldn't
keep their eyes closed. You can't just simply do your job. You have to leverage your job
to get some sort of sexual favors or some sort of other benefits because you can't compete
on an even playing field. So, yeah, I mean, I think honestly, it's both sides were in
the wrong. But I think the problem now is that what it represented, I think what
Gamergate represented, was a growing divide between the media not recognizing itself
as being part of the public anymore, and the media becoming a second entity that separated
itself from the public. Whereas previously, the media was seen as kind of an extension
of the public. It was by the public for the public. And I think Gamergate and a few other
things inside of like traditional news kind of made that separation more obvious. And
now you have more of a media class rather than the media being in the best interest
the public directly. And it was basically like access journalism made its way to gaming. Yeah,
and the reason why it was easy to figure out with Gamergate and with gaming is that because it was
a microcosm, right? It was a very small environment and the people that were doing it were not
very, very competent, to be honest with you, right? And so because these people were so sloppy
and because the environment was so small, it was easy to isolate out and figure out who
the bad actors were. It was obvious. And so that's, I think, the big reason why Gamergate
was so influential and such a big deal. And I think that also it opened a lot of people's eyes
to the concept that a lot of these people that are in the media do not see themselves as the same
as you. They look at you as a goly. You are a pleb. You are a serf. And they are part of some,
you know, form of aristocracy. And they get to dictate your values and your opinions down
to you. And you see this at CNN, you see this at Kotaku, you see this at the Wall Street
journal you see it in the new york times you see it everywhere in tv and
media and television because media has been overwhelmingly taken over by people
who no longer want to tell the truth they want to tell their truth and so
what's happened is that now you have the media and the public that are
often at odds with each other and i think another great example of this is
like the way that rape gangs in the uk are reported why is it that the
media hides the aliases of the of these different uh... you know
persecutors writer and uh... of the of the seven like rapists are these bad
actors right
why are they hiding the identity
they're hiding the identity because that identity is politically inconvenient
for them
and they think that they have a high-minded and a better understanding
perpetrator that's what it's a yet
they have a better understanding of society in humanity
that you know that over rules
their obligation to tell the truth
and so that's really i think what gamer gate did
is that it made that more
evident and i think it made it more direct

ninety-one million dollars in federal Medicaid funding.
That's not a step we take lightly, but it's a necessary one.

Minnesota state-run programs have raised serious red flags from the so-called
leering center scandal through a recent Department of Justice raid tied to child care building
concerns.
Don't forget how fraud tourists from other states took advantage of Minnesota's reconforcement
to allegedly use AI to fabricate records and steal another three and a half million
dollars.
These aren't isolated problems.
They suggest deeper vulnerabilities in how funds may be managed.

The federal government covers more than half of Medicaid costs, which means we

It looks like we've come across a group in need of help, whether we intervene as up to us,
and both choices can lead to unexpected outpouring.

and gain the upper hand from the start.
The combat's really improved a lot ever since the first, uh, the first one.
This is a lot better than what they've shown.
I still think it can get a lot better than this.

I think that it has a ways to go still.
But this is like if they release the game with this combat,
if the story, the gameplay and the world building are good enough, this is passable.
